Only place I know of in San Diego is Luna Video games in Ocean Beach. Their old selections are awesome, and I usually come here cause Gamestop/EB doesn't really do me justice anymore.

It's north, but Games For Less in Fullerton is absolutely FANTASTIC when it comes to older stuff.

If you are ever in the Central Ohio area, Video Trader is an amazing place to get shit done up here.

Do they carry a decent selection of DC and GC? I've seen them advertised, but haven't felt like driving down to OB to check them out.

Is Games for Less a chain? There's one in Culver City/West LA and I think I've seen more.

Anyway, what are the best places in LA for old school games? Especially selection, stock of rare/in demand games, and price???

Great place I know of is Game Hut here in Inglewood, CA. The dude sells games at good prices, usually tax free.

Have you been to GameDude in North Hollywood? They have one of the largest floorspaces I've seen for a dedicated game store, which means a large selection for nearly all systems. They seem to know market value pretty well so you won't find anything particularly cheap but prices are reasonable. Their return policy isn't so great but I guess I shouldn't expect a small business to have anything that gives the customer too much leeway.

Games 4 Less is good in terms of availability, but their prices are ridiculous. I think they were selling Madden 05 (PSOne, New) for $19.99 :hot:. Final Fantasy VII is about $69-70 (about the same as eBay). I would consider buying a lot of non-rare PSOne games from them, but they just price them as if they were worth their weight in gold.

In Oceanside on Vista Way just off of Coast Highway there's a place called Game ADX. The one time I was in there they had some sealed SNES controllers and multitaps. And lots of other stuff, a decent DC selection IIRC. A bit pricey I suppose, but eh. I should go back some time.

In Appleton, WI (about a half hour from Green Bay) I like to stop by a place called Video Game Star.

Their prices are a tad on the high side, but every once in awhile you can find something ridiculously cheap, and alot of the time they have titles that you just can't find anymore.

Plus they almost always have hard to get systems and accessories, such as Master System, Virtual Boy, etc..

I checked out Luna in OB while I was downtown picking up my Comic Con badges. The selection is pretty good, but the prices are kind of high. I don't blame him, but still, I didn't buy anything. Dreamcast collection was decent, probably had the most complete Master System collection I have ever seen with my own two eyes, and had a copy of Rondo Of Blood for $150. Three copies of Breath of Fire and one Finaly Fantasy III, each for 40 bucks. Gamecube selection was meh, or maybe I just didn't pay close attention because most of the GCN games I want I've already got.

I've been there a handful of times. The selection is pretty damn good, especially older consoles. They're a bit pricey (~ebay prices), but they're good guys there. They also carry a bunch of random strategy guides and sell em for 1/3 of the cover price (nothing rare, but useful stuff nonetheless).
