Features

Hail to the Chimp is a fast, furious, and funny action-party game where you and up to three friends compete to become the first President of the animal kingdom! When the King of the Animals resigns in disgrace, ten animals enter a brutal contest to become President.
Battle in your living room or across Xbox LIVE®. Dynamic maps and crazy traps let you win with brains as well as brawn. Team up with a rival for a special move to blow away your common enemies. Courage, speed, cunning, trickery—do you have what it takes to win it all?

Pick your character: Choose one of ten animal candidates, ranging from the crafty monkey, Crackers, to the mighty hippo, Ptolemy
Use special attacks: Team up with a rival to unleash special attacks on other players. Each animal combination results in a different special move
Collect the clams: Collect clams scattered around the environment and attack enemies to knock their clams loose. The more clams you have, the more damage you can absorb and inflict!
Run your campaign: Compete in a wide variety of campaign events such as stuffing ballot boxes, smashing voting machines, and smearing opponents.
Choose your strategy: Dynamic maps and crazy traps let you win with brains as well as brawn
Chart your progress: See your political fortunes rise and fall on GRR News, the in-game animal news network hosted by Woodchuck Chumley.

Update 2/28: New Gameplay Vid:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=trPf51u7kgMHere's the story: the lion has been ousted, and now all the animals are competing to become the new king of the jungle. Thus, politics factor into the game, though the gameplay itself revolves around paw-to-paw combat. The game is laced with subtle satirical humor. For instance, clams play a big part in the game, though we're talking about actual clams here. Several of the gametypes award victory to the "candidate" with the most clams. We'll let you puzzle that one out for yourselves.

Wideload hopes the game will be available in time for the U.S. elections in 2008.Taken from and higher res: http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/06/21/you-there-hail-to-the-chimp-now/

I don't know what to say about this one, looks more like it should be an XBLA title. Unless they haven't shown much.

Its made by Wideload (Stubbs The Zombie) and Gamecock.

Fuckin' sweet.

Looks like an XBLA title, though.

Hmmmm...not sure what to make of that. Stubbs was awesome, though.

Yeah I was hoping for Stubbs 2 from Wideload.. This one looks interesting, though.

Stubbs was great! This one looks like another mediocre party game.

Yep...Is it confirmed as being an actual game disc, or is it just speculation. Aka is it xbla or disc confirmed

Well, I'm pretty sure Gamecock is supposed to be a physical publisher, so I don't see why they would be involved if this was an XBLA game.

Looks like it's worth about 800 points...not more than that. If this is a $40 game they are in trouble.

I think it'll be on a disc because it says it's coming to the PSTriple (unless the PS3 has an XBLA-esque service?).

It looks interesting though. No idea how the whole politics aspect fits into it.

PSN Store. Identical to XBLA in concept, except all the games on it are shitty versions of Geometry Wars/Robotron, just with different presentations and graphics. Oh, and Q*bert.

Oh, and online Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection. And Mortal Kombat 2.

Ah, I forgot. Not one, but two of the jerkiest, most ridgid, shitty fighting games in existence. Sorry those slipped my mind.

Tha attacks look pretty awesome, but I usually despise these kind of games. So yeah, hopefully they do a good job: I probably won't like it.

The end screen says Xbox 360 live, and not just 360. I'm not really sure what to make of the game though.

Sour grapes?

Both of those games are better than a LOT of the utter shit on XBLA. Hell, Mortal Kombat 2 is better than UMK3.

I'd buy it for XBLA but I won't even rent it if its not.

Its looking really good, reminds me of a mixture of PowerStone and Smash Bros., though I can't help to think that this would have been perfect as an XBLA title. Retails for $39.99

Well, that may be true, but, at least we Live users have Ecco the Dolphin. Oh yeah, blow hole fun. Woo! In all due seriousness, Mortal Kombat II, in totality, is the funnest Mortal Kombat game. However, I do think the Mortal Kombat series features a flawed fighting system, generic character designs, and terrible sound effects. ;)

If it's as good as the Simpsons segment they stole the name from, I'll buy. That does not appear to be the case, but I'll withhold judgement. Do we still not know if this is XBLA or retail?

FWIW, I made that comment you quoted almost a year ago and have no issues with XBLA now, other than their stupid-ass size restriction and goddamn fucking shitty fucking fuck fuck goddamn awful horrible fucking shit DRM.

If it turns out anything like PowerStone I'll buy it in a heartbeat. Hopefully we get a demo.

Reminds me of Whacked! on Xbox. That was a little fun but kinda bad over all. I'd really like to see a Stubbs 2 or better yet a Stubbs 1 and 2 combo disk...here's to dreaming.
