Last year, there was some free content, a week of XBL free, demo's from the floor available for download, trailers, interviews...etc...its basically as close to being there as possible.

Last year's BIH was good, so it's nice to hear that it's happening again this year. Maybe that's the week Bomberman gets released. I'm sure there will be some cool/free stuff for us to DL. Bringing it Home '06 was the best non-game use of XBox Live to date. Getting the Halo 3 trailer on Live right as MS was giving their presentation was pretty amazing. The assloads of trailers and previews, in addition to the daily overview videos were great.

Last year we got Doom out of nowhere, I wonder if they have another surprise lined up for this one.

Hopefully their servers will be more ready for it this year.

The only one I remember being taken down was the original Test Drive Unlimited demo, but Atari replaced it with a much better demo before the title's release.

They made an intial claim that all the BIH home content would be removed after the event closed, but they never followed through. I know it was up at least through June.

They were slower than usual for me last year. Uno and the Lost Planet demo seemed to take forever.

They were fast if you downloaded in the middle of the night. Don't download during peak hours.

Now that the 360 can go into power-save download mode though, it may not matter.

The rumor floating around (From DaKing240 that is) is that Golden Axe will be the surprise arcade release.

As much as I enjoy Golden Axe, I don't really see it as shocking as Doom's release was.

Depending on the conference, the releases could be major. If Microsoft announces a partnership with Sega to toss on their entire Genesis back catalog, updating the graphics, adding online play, and charging $5 a game...it'd be a direct "Fuck you" to Nintendo.

All that speculation being said, I doubt its going to happen. We'll maybe get these intial releases and Streets of Rage 2 and Sega's arcade contribution would be relegated to the occasion Sonic game.

They canned GM mode altogether, so I'm already leaning on the side of "Gamefly-it-until-I'm-bored-with-it"

It's been ages since I'd played the game, so you're right. It predates 3D FPS, however.

I just discovered the "Aleph One" project for the Mac, so I can play all the Marathon games to my heart's content, for free. Huzzah!

There's also a new Marathon mod (Resurrection) for Unreal Tournament Mac. I'd like to try that out, too.

But, to keep this XBLA related, it will be great to see a classic Mac developer (even if *snif* they aren't anymore) get their amazing games shown to the mass public that worships them now.

I'm guessing the Halo 360 is an Elite as well. I honestly think its striking in design - especially the gold hdd highlights... I imagine it will sell well too (even as such a niche product). I honestly did not feel excited at all to play that line up of games this holiday season, or maybe its because I'm feeling jaded. Some of the demos on stage made my anticipation for the games deflate (PGR4 inparticular...) Does anyone know whether GoW will have the new content available for DL? Okay, the close-ups of the Halo 360 look much better than what was shown at the presentation (still looks ugly IMO, however), but WTF is up with those really ghay looking controllers. I'm guess M$'s cheap attempt at appealing to kids.

Honestly, every game-play demo of the games flat out rocked for me. I don't know maybe it's me, but every time a game is shown nowadays, it's some lame ass, out-of-context video montage to some song or soundtrack, that looks nothing how the game really does.

Watching the vids, my interest in PGR4 picked up immensely & is at an all-time high with Halo 3 & Assasin's Creed.

Well I just woke up. I don't see why everyone is giving this press conference so much hate. Microsoft didn't bring that many surprises, but they did bring several good to great looking games that as Moore said over and over again, we'll be playing in 2007. Short on surprises, but pretty decent content.

IMO, this E3 for Microsoft was about delivering the goods. Instead of building up hype for games that will be available in 2008-2009, they simply delivered the goods on what will be available in 2007.

I liked it since it was less bluster and more games.
