I know this game is old but I did not see a topic on it. For 20 bones this game is great I really digging the first player mode. The multi has some lag and not many playing it but man it is a fun time though. Plus 1000 does not seem that hard to get. Anyone should get this for 20 I think. I like it more then Top Spin 2 which I also got for 20.

Played it last year and thought it was fun. To bad they never fixed the multiplayer though.

I bought it at wal mart awhile back, they had the collectors edition for 30. I thought the single player was pretty sweet as well, and that the mp was garbage just as everyone else has said. Definitely worth 20 IMO.

Agreed this is a fun single player game with good atmosphere.

I loved the single player Prey campaign. Good twist at the end too. MP was asstastic. The Deathwalk was an interesting concept, but made the game a bit too easy.

They are working on a sequel. My wish is that they drop the MP and spend that extra time developing an even stronger single player game.

I loved the single player Prey campaign. Good twist at the end too.Not sure if it's a good sign as to how good the SP story was, but I can't remember what the ending was. Someone care to spoiler it for me? I did enjoy it all the way through, though. I don't typically enjoy the sci-fi/Doom/corridor shooters.

i picked up the CE version from circuit city 2 days ago for $11 and already beat SP mode...good game..i enjoyed it all the way through.....

as for the ending:

After a very turbulent fight, Mother is defeated and, in her death throes, begs Tommy to take over her job, lest the entire Sphere die. As she dies, a huge burst of light engulfs Tommy and when vision is restored, the player sees Tommy inside the Mother's den, complete with swarms of data overwhelming him. Once the process is complete, we find that Tommy is basically numb with power. His grandfather, Enisi, contacts him from the spirit realm and tells him that such power is only an illusion, as the price is greater than what he has gained, and that he needs to look in his heart and make the right decision. Tommy heeds his grandfather's words and drives the Sphere straight into the sun, and ends up in the land of the ancients to see Enisi and Jen once more. Knowing that when it is his time he will see them both again, Tommy goes back to Earth.
Six months later, Tommy finds himself in a rebuilt Roadhouse, apparently not yet open to the public. The official story is that people, buildings and objects vanished because of an unknown, unexplained natural phenomenon. No one on Earth knows that Tommy is a planetary saviour. He turns around and sees Elhuit, who he thought had died when the Mother located and attacked the Hidden's base of operations, suddenly standing across the bar. She and the surviving Hiders had escaped through their own portal machine just before Tommy plunged the Sphere into the sun. She tells him that while people on Earth do not know of the great deed he has done, there are those "elsewhere" who have taken notice and want to meet him. Elhuit opens up a portal, which looks different from the others in the game, and Tommy walks through it. The player sees a mixture of light as the view warps towards the final destination and the screen goes black as the words "Prey will continue..." appear.

more specifically the twist I was referring to was:
Tommy having to kill his girlfriend for whom you have been searching for the entire game. Sure the big story is saving earth, but Tommy was a selfish character and was all about getting her back first and foremost. It seemed Earth was second on his priority list.

The single player is pretty good so far... I have like 4 chapters left to go. I have been trying to get into a multiplayer game for a while but everytime I search there are 0 games available. Do any of you guys want to get together one day this week and play maybe?

I started the game last week and played about 2 hours or so. I think that the ups and downs are confusing and make me feel sick. The environments are a little too dark and hard to see. I will probably up the brightness in the settings to maximum. The weapons are kind of boring and don't really make you feel like they are obliterating enemies. The game is ok, I am sure I will finish it but I enjoyed Doom 3 a lot more on original Xbox.

The demo is the best part of this game. It all goes downhill from there.
