For those who (like me) may have been waiting for an arcade stick, Gamestop has a pre-order open for a "limited edition" Hori VF5-themed stick for 59.99. It's listed as shipping in July, but the game was delayed until October, so the stick may be too. Use code SAVER for free shipping, although there is a 4.99 special handling fee.

EDIT - weird: I don't know what that photo is or where it came from. It's not shown on the gamestop site. I expect the stick will look much better than that!

Game is still scheduled for Summer, according to Sega. I doubt the stick will ship without the game near by.
Either way, I pre-ordered mine a while ago.

Both Amazon and Gamestop list October dates now. I'd love for you to be right, however.

the pic is the non-branded hori stick that was going to come out but got cancelled. wish I knew if this stick was really coming out next month so I could sell off my DoA stick.

Sega has told Eurogamer this afternoon that, as far as it's concerned, Virtua Fighter 5 on Xbox 360 is still due out in summer.
It was speaking in the aftermath of various retailers changing their dates to later in the year. US outfit Gamestop has pushed its forecast back to October, while UK-based GAME reckons we'll see it in November. But both Play.com and Amazon.co.uk believe it's 28th September that the game will be released. Which is somewhat confusing.

I dont know if it will come out this summer or not but i might pick the stick up....i think i would have to hate the game with the controller before doing that though.

I figured you'd be the one to give a proper opinion on it.

it'll probably be the same design. I would sell it for profit, but i realized after my post that I'll probably get the amount it would cost to buy the VF stick for my DoA stick (since it doesn't have the box or anything.) :)
maybe the VF graphic will be better. I can't believe they went with that outdated pic of Kokoro from when she still had a cone head.

If it's the same design, then I'll stick with what I had, as I paid $40 for mine. Still have the box + extras, so if it ends up being a better stick, I can always toss the DOA4 stick on eBay.

Yeah I was about to ask the same thing since I already have the DOA4 stick. I was just wondering if it was going to be smaller and if there would be any differences with the button placement.

would this stick work for backwards compatible games like Street Fighter Anniversary?? I also have Dead or Alive 4, and will probably get Virtua Fighter but was just wondering about BC games.

Yes, and also for XBLA games.

Should I buy the DOA4 stick? There is one at my GS for $40 so I am tempted. It's better than the Tekken 5 stick right?

well, you definitely won't get a better price on it at the moment. if you have any interest in it, you may as well pick it up.
it doesn't have the weight and large base of the tekken stick, which sucks, but other than that, it's about the same.

Damn, they don't have them on the website anymore, so I guess I will check out my local GSs. I want the stick mainly for XBLA games, and I was thinking of even getting one from eBay, but for $40, I will defininetly look next time I am at GS/EB. Anyone know how much they go for anywhere else(like GameCrazy)? Thanks, any info is much appreciated.
To be on topic I guess, I will go for the Tekken stick if I cannot find the DoA4 one.

BREAKING: It's reported that VF5 IS delayed to October, but that the reason is that online play will be added after all! Nothing official yet, so YMMV.
