I just got off the phone with Gamestop asking about when this was coming in. I was told it comes in tomorrow for the 360 and PS2. He didn't even have a listing anymore for a Wii version. I have this preordered though, but haven't received a call about it coming in tomorrow. ANyone know anything about this game?

This is a major setback for me if this game isn't coming out. Wii plus baseball, how can you screw it up?

2nd gamestop that told me the game isn't even in their system. Only PS3, 360 and PS2. I am royally pissed now. This was what I was looking forward gamewise this summer.

Yeah, I know the website says that but it isn't in the computer systems for the 3 stores I called (only the 360, PS3 and PS2 are). Im more likely to trust the people looking in their systems, than the website that might not be updated.

The place I preordered it for has me in the system still for it, so I guess we'll see tomorrow though I haven't received the customary call and I usually have by now.

I did notice that Gamefly has this game set to be sent next week. Or at least they did earlier today.

toysrus had a sign in the wii section saying they would not be getting this for 6 / 26/ as promised in their ad and they were sorry .

As I stated earlier, they ARE getting the 360, PS3 and PS2 versions tomorrow, but there was no Wii version in their system and I didn't get any call today saying my preorder would be there tomorrow.

Hopefully Amazon is correct and it is coming out the 28th.

Damn, I was looking forward to how a real baseball game on the Wii would be. I never got "good" at the WiiSports one though =(!

I don't think it is cancelled, maybe delayed. B/c otherwise how would IGN have reviewed it?

You probably wouldnt. Most games come in Wendesday. Gamestop employees just say Tuesday, thats the actual shipping day. I pre-ordered RE4:Wii last week and didnt get the call from them until Tuesday night, to pick up Wendesday.

This isn't that hard to understand. The rest of the versions of this game (PS2, 360 and PS3) will be in TODAY, not Wednesday. They shipped yesterday, and arrive at the stores today. The Wii version for some reason is NOT and it isn't even in the gamestop computer system anymore. This is what I was told by 3 different stores yesterday. It also was posted above that Toys R Us is not getting the Wii version today either.

It has nothing to do with shipping dates and dates arriving at the stores. The Wii version is NOT going to be in stores today like the rest of the versions and like it was originally supposed to be. What type of delay this means? Your guess is as good as mine.

Who cares if its delayed by 2-3 days. You're getting it. Maybe someone at corporate either removed or forgot to activate the Wii version on their system. If IGN has reviewed it already, its coming out. Thats all you need to know.

First of all, I care that it is delayed. This is the game I was looking forward to this summer.

Second of all, I have no idea if it is only delayed 2 to 3 days. Gamestop doesn't even have it in their system.

In addition, BestBuy.com says its available in most stores, but it doesn't show available anywhere I've looked yet. But I'm pretty sure it ain't cancelled.

No, it isn't cancelled but delayed for an unknown timeframe. I should change the title. I put it right after I found out that it wasn't in Gamestops computer.

similar thing just happened to me with RE$ at circuit city. Went on the release day and the people at circuit city had no idea what I was talking about. when they looked it up they were surprised to see that they should have had it in store right then.

most likely just a shipping error but i do notice that games are not in store until a day or 2 after the stated release date for some reason. it's basically teh ship date they show. i'm also looking forward to bigs, hope it shows up soon.

As of yesterday according to 3 Gamestops (the only 3 in my area), yes the Wii version was NOT in their system. You think I started this for sh--s and giggles? Do you think the other person posted about Toys R US not getting the Wii version shipped on the 26th just for fun? There was some sort of problem that must have gotten fixed.

That's the only thing I'm interested in too. Is how well it pulls off the batter swing.
But I will never own this game.

In my opinion the Wii version is very good. There is a surprising amount of depth for an arcade baseball game.

The one major gripe I have is that hitting isn't implemented like I wish it had been. As for the lag, I really don't notice it much, but I liked how in wii sports you really got into it with the swinging. In the Bigs you are merely flicking the remote. The pitching works really well in my opinion.

picked up the wii version today at target... came with a $10 gift card!

now, i'm sure i'll get the old "you don't play the case" argument, but is anyone else bothered by the spine of the case? it's black. on the wii. where EVERY other game has a white spine with just the logo. now, on the shelf, this one sticks out badly. it's just so offputting. just me?

I think it is really good on the Wii. I haven't played the 360 or PS3 version, but from the way it plays, it seems that just pressing a button to hit (instead of swinging/flicking) would make this game REALLY easy.

It's not real difficult to begin with on the Wii, but it just seems it would be relatively simple and somewhat boring without the pitching motions and hitting motions. The PS3 version might have that in it though. Not sure.

Also, with the Wii version, the diving and jumping takes some serious getting used to. I really don't like the way they did it. They should have just used buttons for it, but you have to make motions to dive. It's difficult and really hard to do quickly. The game moves very fast so it's a bit tough to think in time to make the motion for diving.

All in all though it is definitely worth the purchase price. Surprising amount of depth.

overall...this is definately a great, fun game to own. yes...the controls do have a learning curve. it took me the training session and about 3 games to really get the hang of them.

i think it's well worth the price...especially, as with many other wii games, if you'll be playing it with friends. just a great, fun arcade baseball game.

CAG has been good to me. i'll pick up anything when it gets cheap enough, and most of my games i got for crazy low prices. i scored a couple $10 games from compusa stores closings... amazon dotds... target clearances... if you saw my entire collection, you'd think i'd spent a lot of money, but i've only paid full price for a few games.

I see that you are in the Dallas area. Is your collection still safe after all that rain (not that the game collection is the most important thing when it comes to flooding)? I head some more areas on the western side of Fort Worth had to be evacuated (not to mention all the deaths and stuff already).

yep, i and the collection are safe and sound. i'm lucky to not have any creeks or lakes near my house. i'm right smack in between dallas and fort worth, and while the rain has been coming down pretty much non-stop, the flooding here isn't that bad. driving can get dangerous sometimes, depending on where you go, but my house isn't underwater... just wet.

but yes... i work in the news, and see some of that flooding firsthand. it's just awful what's going on. i can't even imagine coming home to 4 feet of water in my own house. not sure what i'd do.

Popped in The Bigs today, and needless to say, I had a lot of fun. I got into it as much as I did in a real baseball game. Some of the controls don't quite work right, and fielding is a bitch (I can't get used to it--but then again, this is the first baseball video game I've really played), but its pretty damn fun. Some of the pitching controls, namely the CW/CCW turns, are a little bit wonky for me, but I'll work on that.

I feel like I want to go edit the rosters right now... some of it is out of date, which is expected. :D
