It's because you can now downgrade your PSP with just a copy of Lumines, rather than needing a special (and expensive) older copy of GTA.

Just sold my copy of Lumines (For $35, I decided to be generous.), and since I already have Lumines 2, I think I'll get Lumines Plus so I can play Lumines on my PS2. It's the same as Lumines 1 but for the PS2, right?

i picked up a copy yesterday for $12.99 and a copy today for $17.99. peeled off the layers of stickers and found the following:

5/23/07: dropped from 17.99 to 12.99
6/26/07: up from 12.99 to 14.99
6/27/07: up from 14.99 to 17.99

the guy behind the counter also told me he grabbed a copy for himself.
