View Full Version : Xbox 360 - Freezing and Costco Warranties
My Xbox 360 was freezing today. Once was during Dead or Alive 4 multiplayer. The other times were during Guitar Hero II, when any time I finished a song it would freeze. I gave it more ventilation (even though it had a perfect amount before) though that doesnt seem to be helping the problem. I bought it at Costco, so does it have the lifetime warranty everyone keeps talking about, or can I fix it myself without going through the hassel of returning it? And if you return it to Costco, can you keep your hard drive? Thanks. :D
Also, the discs are in mint condition, I bought them brand new, and before it freezes it makes a "beeping" noise.

I exchanged my 360 at Wal-Mart and they let me keep the HDD :)

yeah, you should be able to keep your HDD. Just tell the sales rep you have important info on it (credit card info, purchased games, etc).
Your situation sounds like mine and it looks like your dvd drive might die out soon (if that's the case, you'll get "Unplayable disc" messages or your system just won't read the disc at all).

Remember if you swap it out you get hosed on the marketplace content, you can only use it when logged in on the account that purchased it.
you may have to buy a new one first (the new bundle comes with Forza 2, extra controller & play&charge kit for $499.99) and then return your old one with the new hard drive.
