They don't do referral stuff or anything, but if you are going to play these games anyway, it's a pretty easy way to make a bit of money.

You launch the game through their client and depending on how you and your team does, you get paid.

I actually haven't got to try it out yet since my internet keeps crapping out tonight and I can't connect to a server, but hopefully it shall work tomorrow.

I think you have to pay money to use this service, as in, there's an entry fee for playing the games

Nah, there isn't. At least not that I've seen. I've been able to play a few games and havn't had to pay anything. I've won 75 cents though. :D I'm guessing for the bigger payout matches you will have to buy in though.

i used to be pretty good at CS:S...haven't played it in over a year, though. Sold all my nice PC parts so I wouldn't be tempted ever again :p

would've been nice to make some bank with all the hours I pumped into it.

No kidding. I think xfire has logged close to 900 hours for CS:S for me. Man, I'd be rich. :D

Isn't the free money only used to enter the ones that cost money?

I haven't played Counterstrike since v 1.4 in 2001.

I might have some catching up to do. What's this "Source"? :-k:-P

(I know what Source is, I just never bothered to play beyond HL1 and its mods.)

I don't know why but all my friends have gone back to playing 1.6...guess they don't like source for some reason.

I myself am a noob, so I doubt I'll win any money with this but I can always try. If I'm ever on I'll be named some variant of poo.

This is how the money works as of now:

"Until we launch the live system with real money (very soon!) you have no need to deposit any funds as all games are free to enter! Even better though, the winnings from all games are real cash at the moment and can be used to join games once we switch on real money. So it’s all the fun of real money games, with real cash rewards, but no risk to your own hard earned cash yet! Withdrawals will be permitted once we fully switch real money on."

I'll start playing once real money is turned on
