So, I was messing around on my computer when I decided to play Call of Duty. It has played fine since I built the computer about a week and a half ago.
Well, this time the computer screen goes blank and says "No Signal Detected." I secured the connection on both ends and it still says that. Is my video card fried? It's a BFG Geforce 7800. Is there anyway to diagnose that the card is the problem? I really don't have any other computer to test it out on, so I'm not sure what to do.

first i'd check the drivers but it does sound like it's not working...now I've had the fan fall off of the gpu and that restarted the pc...try the driver thing.. then download 3dmark or some other video card testing software.. if it doesn't work or gives you the same thing... you might have to get a new card..

The fan is on and working. I would check the drivers and such, but I can't do anything with the computer because the monitor won't cut on. If you have any other suggestions please keep them coming. I really don't want to have to buy another card.

It's connected via VGA Cable right?
Maybe see if you can borrow one from a friend and see if it could be that? I know that's a simple answer, but you never know.

It's DVI and S-Video only for the video card. The monitor has VGA, but I'm not using it. I'm going to try and connect my dad's laptop to the monitor if I can find a VGA cable.
And I misspoke. The monitor cuts on but doesn't get input from the video card. It just says "No Signal Detected."

Hmm, if the DVI connection is secure on both ends, maybe the card became loose?
You could try unplugging it and reseating it.
Other than that and trying new cables, I'm stumped.
Oh, did your 7800 come with a DVI-VGA adapter? Maybe if you can grab that VGA cable, you can try plugging that in...I honestly don't know if that's going ot make any sort of difference, but anything's worth a shot.

My cousin gave me the card and included that cable, but I forgot it when I came to my parent's house (came to visit for the week). I'm going to go and take the card out and put it back in. I really hope that's the problem. I don't want to spend anymore money.
Thanks so much for the help everyone. Please keep it coming.

Definitely check the pins, I went nuts for about two hours trying to figure out why mine wouldn't display a signal and it turned out one pin was bent.

Ok, so I went to Best Buy to get a new video card to see if it's my monitor or the cable. I turn it on and nothing happened. Luckily it came with a DVI-VGA adapter, so I put that on my old card and used my dad's old CRT. Everything worked fine.
So, that means it's either the cable or the monitor. Everything on the pins looks great, so I don't know what to do. I'm at ease knowing the video card works, but now my monitor might be screwed. HELP!

I would, but the cable goes directly from the computer. It's not a cable you can remove. That doesn't make sense when I type it out. It's an old Compaq monitor.

I'm not sure what you mean. But, no, I can't take the vga cord out of the monitor. It goes straight from the monitor to the awaiting computer. I wish I could so I could see if the vga input from the monitor works.

I'm using DVI, not VGA, and yeah I checked them. They looking fine to me.
Here's the monitor I'm using (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824112006).

The dvi not working is a common problem with sceptre monitors. Mine stopped working also. As soon as I read your first post I knew you had a sceptre.

Yeah, I think you should use the DVI VGA adapter on your video card and find a VGA/VGA cable and plug that into your monitor.
Maybe your DVI slot on the monitor is messed up somehow.
/edit/ Yeah, I'm sorry to say but it's most likley your DVI port then.
Look at some of the Newegg reviews:

Damn, that's weak sauce. And my monitor is not under warrranty. Hmmmm. . . so my only option is to run this through vga? That really, really sucks.

I know this is a long work around, but I usually sell a lot of crap on Ebay anyway, so what I would do is hock it on Ebay. Looks like the average price for a used Sceptre 20.1 is about 160 + shipping.
I don't know how much a broken DVI port would set you back, but there are a lot of deals for 20-22" monitors - especially with July 4 around the corner, as well as Dell/Mitsuibishi releasing a new line of 22-24"s.
I'd personally probably just use VGA, but if you're willling to eat a small loss and upgrade the monitor, I can help you find some deals if you want.

I bought mine at costco.com before they changed the return policy. I haven't gotten around to emailing them yet.

Does the monitor have option to select different input source? My LCD has both DVI and VGA and in the LCD menu (via the buttons on the LCD) it allows me to select which one to accept the signal from.

Yep, so it's definitely the DVI port. That sucks. I called Sceptre and am waiting for a call back. I wonder how much this is going to cost me?

I just talked to Sceptre and apparently they will fix it! I just have to pay shipping to them, which is fine with me at this point. Still sucks, though.
