My friend and I were playing online co-op but had to quit during the finale. When we start up today are we going to have to play from the beginning of the campaign or will it start where we left off?

Host a game, set it for the last chapter(i.e. Finale) start the game with only you in it.

Make sure the friend you want to invite into the game is on the dashboard, invite him. When he gets into the game log out back to the dashboard and have him invite you back in.

Had an awesome team last night in some versus action. Pretty much wiped the floor with them even though they were pulling out every cheap trick in teh book. Did teh typical hid under the ramp on the helo pad (killed tehm anyway), mved the generator in front of the elevator (finally moved it and won the level) but the won that screwed us was the sewers, they somehow moved a trash bin over the man hole. We were able to kinda move it a coupld times but everytime they would just kick it back. Eventully we just gave up and killed ourselfs. Lame if you ask me.
We ended up winning 5,245 to 678 so it didn't really matter.

We of course encounter the god damn generator in front of the elevator but this time we took it a little bit differently.

After the doors open we all collectively roll our eyes and my friend was about to suggest we quit I said no. Lets stay here, right here....for the rest of the match until they quit. They want to fucking waste out time lets waste theirs.

So thats what we did...we stood in the lift for 15 min killing everything that came our way (hell at least it gets you close to the kill 53 thousand zombie cheese) then after the other team got bored they started trying to move it.

Thats when the fun started. I again stated to my friends....no...screw them...they wanted to put that shit there and slap each other on the back about how clever they are. Leave it there..and thats what we did...we spent the next 5 min killing them as they tried to move the generator. They started messaging us like "Dude man what fuck we are trying to move it for you." I message back..."no I like it where it is now."

So then it became a battle to keep the generator in place all the while the other team is getting more and more pissed.

Finally...they move the generator completely out of the way clearing a path for us to leave. But again we decided to stay there....killing them over and over. Then I get the message "dude its fucking out of the way man just leave so we can get on with the game." I reply..."no you wanted us in here so badly we are staying."

We continued killing them for another 10 min while we messed with them by running out some what and then rushing back to the lift. They eventually caught on that we are definitely going to out last them and all quit. I got a couple more messages from them after also.


Its very small but knowing I pissed off some douchebag unoriginal dolt that cant comprehend that using that glitch doesnt give you and edge was very rewarding.

Nice! Yeah this generator BS needs to stop. I'd say valve needs to stop it with n update but those ass hats don't do crap for their 360 games.

AWEFUL games last night, terrible teams. Idiots on my survivor team kept running off and not helping. I mean you need to keep moving but these guys wuoldn't stop for anything, not even if a hunter got someone. Needless to say we never got to the half way mark on any section. I rarely yell at team mebers but I was obliged to tell them that they were fucking terrible at the game, because, well they were.

I'm finding it more and more difficult to play online, especially where more and more of the people on my friend list are dumping the game, I've decided to sell it off for now and wait for the price to drop and try to finish off the expert achievements then.

Honestly, just get the PC version, seems to be more mature gamers who actually want to play the game the way it was meant to. Oh, and you'll get free DLC and more frequent updates as Valve doesn't have to wait on Microsoft's approval. Xbox owners can obviously thank Microsoft on that, with their lengthy certification process.

I know one of the things that got changed in the newest update was the removal of the instant kill spot (w/ Smoker) at the very beginning of Blood Harvest Finale. Tried to use that spot today and I kept falling off the cliff. Couldn't get into the correct spot at all. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me.

Left 4 Dead has received an update on Xbox 360, which ... actually, we haven't a clue as to what it did. We've contacted Valve for details regarding the inoculation. Perhaps Valve's statistics (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/26/left-4-dead-stats-show-strong-anti-smoker-bias/) have revealed more nasty cheaters (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/10/left-4-dead-gets-hacked-on-360/) that needed to be squished.

Update: Valve has confirmed that the title update is the client-side fix meant to address the previously mentioned cheating. No more system link and user-hosted shenanigans for you!

We didn't get to finish expert last night(I sent you a message on XBOX geist) so we don't know for sure but I'm pretty sure the update only had to do with the hacks that we all saw on youtube.

Basically it fixed it so you can't perform the hacks on user hosted games.. they fixed it last month where you couldn't hack on Valve hosted servers.

I got the group request from Cmart last night while I was eating dinner and watching a movie. Sorry I missed out. I ended up in a group of friends and we went through Blood Harvest on Expert legit. Took almost 40 retries and over 4 hours. I was the only one to make it out but it counts. Funny thing was that we didn't have anything to light the tanks up with. We were somehow able to keep distance on the bastards using the awnings of the second floor and tearing all around the house. That second one took out two people and I lost the other guy while sprinting to escape.

If they didn't fix that glitch I can be the game host. I just need help getting No Mercy and Dead Air.

for blood harvest expert, there's usually at least one red gasoline tank on the way to the barn - whether it's by the car carrier in the beginning, next to the train, or on the cliff before you jump down into the field. my group brings it all the way to the barn. if we encounter a tank before we get to the end, we just kill him normally since any guys we lose will spawn in the house when we get there. the most important thing is taking that gas tank to the finale. that way you only have to worry about fighting one of the tanks with firearms...

Thats what I love about this game though.

You cant just assume you are going to win even if you think your zombie hunting skills are up to par.

Its so unpredictable, everything can be going great then a boomer explodes covering 2 of your members.....smoker comes out of no where and sucks you off the building/barn/or field you are standing in.

The most important thing is that the game is hard WITHOUT being overly cheap. (Call of duty I am looking at you) there was never a time where I lost and felt really cheated. You have to be 100% focus to even have a chance half the time.

This game is the ultimate test of video game skill. Cant halo your way through it.

Interesting. I don't think I ever found a gas tank near the car carrier. Not sure how often I looked though. I'll have to remember that.

I think we had 3 gas tanks once, and twice we got a full compliment of Moltov's in the barn and still lost. Often it was an issue of locating the tank before he incapped someone. But we had nothing on that final playthrough other than having everyone equipped with auto-shotguns.

Just got untouchables by myself with all bots on Dead Air final. Easy Breezy, got it on the first try. Once you get a handle on the tanks it was cake.

They'd leave the game on overnight and tie a rubber band over the left trigger button(i.e. melee button) which is so gay.

Yeah I know of that trick. A smoker will never spawn though.

I am not down with boosting cheesemints....seems to defeat the purpose of them. They are not that important to keep my system on all night or go out of my way to get them.

I got the 39 thousand pretty quick though because I average roughly 100 zombie kills each level I play. I am always lead scout when I play with my friends and having good aim allows for you to take out 15 -20 zombies in like 10 seconds.

You just have to watch how many zombies you are killing after each round. My friend was complaining that it was going to take forever and he was wondering but looking at the end of level stats he is only getting like 20 kills a round. (might be because I am sucking them up)

I dont know..53 thousand sounds like a lot but I got to 39 pretty quick.

I got the one achievement I never thought I'd get last night. The Tank one where you have to kill all 4 survivors in one life as a tank. Based on my playing the tank can't even kill 1. I got lucky and managed to get all 4 survivors sperated and on by one would knock them down. I didn't even realize what I had done till I go the notification on my screen.

Not exactly true, I haven't even had the game since release date and I have over 34,000 kills and I haven't played the game in over a week. It is fair to say that anyone who plays the game a lot could get there fairly quickly, I get about 300-400 kills on average with 3 human players and I get close to 1,000 (sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, but always close) when I played with only the AI. Put enough time in the game and you can easily get up to the 54,000 since that basically only took me a month to get 34,000.

Got to play versus for the first time last night....it gets a "meh" from me. Being the special infected wasn't quite as liberating or empowering as I thought. Still felt like I was the one being hunted. Then again, the teams sucked. I ended up stuck with a buddy's girlfriend (who is awful), and two buddies who we got the game for Xmas so I was the only one who had some time behind the game. One dude lagged out twice and then the other team took over.

I think I'm only at around 13,000 kills so far for Zombie Genocidest. I think after I get that I'll pop Dead Rising back in and go for that one.

Who gets annoyed when playing on versus on No Mercy, part 4, when the special infected team barricades the elevator exit?

It takes me almost 10-15 minutes to get through, usually by meleeing the object several times and/or jumping out at a very specific angle. A dirty trick if you ask me.

Cool. I'll send you a GI once we've rounded up everyone else later. Cmart got pretty damn good in my absence. We ended up making it to the house more often than not and haven't shacked up in it since because it's a f*cking death trap. We've started holding up in the barn to the right up top so three can crouch melee in the corner while the last guy ARs special infected in front of us. The only thing that's stopping us from finishing now are special infected spawning while we fight Tanks or Boomers adding another horde before the first Tank shows up.

Exp Horde + Tank = nearly impossible. -_-'

Cmart would have probably finished it by himself at one point had a Smoker not spawned out of nowhere while he was evading the second Tank. =\

Had the best versus match ever a few nights ago. Just had to come and brag and share a great tip for those trying to get the All 4 Dead achievement. On the first level of No Mercy, trap the survivors in the alley with the cars. If you can catch them before they get out onto the street, just smack the cars at them for insta-kill. In five seconds I killed all four survivors and did over 9000 damage! I wish I had it recorded. My entire team was dumbfounded and the survivors were incredulous :)

Hell I even got the achievement and I was already dead at the time. My character must have spawned in the house before the rescue vehicle came, but what really saved cmart and Ivan were the doors opening IMMEDIATELY after it stopped and the horde spawning from the other side of the house. By the time they caught up to them it was already speeding away.

It was so EPIC and LIBERATING to know that demonic chapter is conquerable. No worries though man... because I think we've finally got this level down to a science now. Get at us sometime and if everyone has some free time (as well... strength, haha) we'll run through it with you. Might take a while but at least with our new strategy we're almost guaranteed to make it to the second Tank with 2 members left with or without fire.

My character must have spawned in the house before the rescue vehicle came, but what really saved cmart and Ivan were the doors opening IMMEDIATELY after it stopped and the horde spawning from the other side of the house. By the time they caught up to them it was already speeding away.

It was so EPIC and LIBERATING to know that demonic chapter is conquerable. No worries though man... because I think we've finally got this level down to a science now. Get at us sometime and if everyone has some free time (as well... strength, haha) we'll run through it with you. Might take a while but at least with our new strategy we're almost guaranteed to make it to the second Tank with 2 members left with or without fire.

Had the best versus match ever a few nights ago. Just had to come and brag and share a great tip for those trying to get the All 4 Dead achievement. On the first level of No Mercy, trap the survivors in the alley with the cars. If you can catch them before they get out onto the street, just smack the cars at them for insta-kill. In five seconds I killed all four survivors and did over 9000 damage! I wish I had it recorded. My entire team was dumbfounded and the survivors were incredulous :)

That actually happened with me on my first versus match. I didn't know what was going on, or even how to control the Tank when I first became him, saw the survivors in an alley.. ran down it, hit RT.. apparently, I hit a car.

They all got killed by it, round / match over, my team won - I think my damage was around 11,000 or so, somehow. Either way, yeah, if you can pull it off, that's the best way to get it.

I need some CAGs to play this game with. I've been playing a lot, but I seem to always get stuck with teammates that don't like to help. 5 or 6 of my friends bought this game, but I never see them online.

Who gets annoyed when playing on versus on No Mercy, part 4, when the special infected team barricades the elevator exit?

It takes me almost 10-15 minutes to get through, usually by meleeing the object several times and/or jumping out at a very specific angle. A dirty trick if you ask me.

Any strategies when this happens?

This happened to me yesterday, lucky for us my friend knew how to deal with this. All you have to do is make the special infected touch the tractor(or whatever it's called). When he's touching or on it, hit it and it will move.

Second Versus match EVER with me, Ivan and a friend of mine. OMG WOW cmart you've got to play with us man. We got our asses kicked in the first two episodes, but man did we come BACK. 3350 - 700 in our favor because of all the damn multiplers we got for surviving on both sides. Oh man... it was HILARIOUS. Not only did we stop their team from being rescued before the helicoper ever showed up, but we killed both of their Tanks AND everyone made it on the chopper.

It's amazing how much knowledge of Expert campaigns translate to Versus play.

Strategic Boomer vomits + corner melee is too. frickin'. good. I'm looking forward to playing better teams in the future so I can step my game up tenfold.

It was absolutely ridiculous how much our score increased in the last two episodes. The other team was not happy. And hey, we beat Blood Harvest!

Yeah we did great that whole night. It is great when you have skilled players on your side.

I have a s**tload of games i Am playing right now (Rock Band 2, Fallout 3, Fable 2, ect.) but if you ever want to team up again just let me know. I will love to play on Expert or Versus again.

Left 4 Dead Receiving Patch This Week

The holidays are just a memory now, so that means developers can now surreptitiously fix all the issues they didn't get to in the rush to release. Next up is Left 4 Dead (http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3155405). Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/left-4-dead-patch-this-week-valve) is reporting that a Left 4 Patch should be arriving this week, and according to Valve's Chet Faliszek, it will fix a "whole class of bugs." So what took so long? It was all down to Valve wanting to lump lots of updates together than letting them trickle out piecemeal.
Unfortunately, no specifics yet. But according to this post on the Steam (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=784064) forums, the PC and the Xbox 360 will be updated independently. Hold tight Xbox owners, you'll be rescued from the ravening horde soon enough.


Email from Chet Faliszek - patch THIS week "Sadly Microsoft has nothing to do with the pc patch... that delay is all us. The PC and 360 will be patched independently not sure where people picked up that exploit/bug fixing was tied together. Only the DLC will be simultaneous. The problem on the PC side was a few large bugs affected other systems that we were going to rewrite on the pc so we ended up waiting to fix a whole class of bugs instead of just individual bugs. The patch should be out this week.

One more down. Thanks for the messages cmart, I keep getting stuck with my buddy that I mentioned. Good guy and good at the game, but every time he comes on I get stuck playing with his girlfriend and her cousin. And she's the one dragging us down...always picks up the sniper rifle (which is fine for certain stages), but I constantly find myself watching her back as she's in constant scope and getting beat up myself. Especially since she leads friendly fire counts by a shitload. Big time liability. Then she gets tired and we end up using the Jesus room after playing all of No Mercy legit. ARGH!

Sorry, needed to vent a little. Better here than the numerous times I find myself pointing the assault rifle at her head. Dead Air, here I come.

On a side note, I can not stand the quick matches, I have not been able to finish a single campaign because the party leader left. That is aggravating.

Finally got Safety First a few minutes ago by running through No Mercy on Easy using nothing but melee. The only problem is that I seemed to get an abnormal number of tanks because I was moving so fast, but you can usually just run away and let your AI team kill them. I swear we should have had this achievement a long time ago, but this seems to be the easiest way.

...Wow. What a bunch of morons. They deserve each other... clearly.

As for Skate 2... eh. I'd like to say the demo was solid if only because it felt exactly as the original did only with better graphics and more tricks. I will admit the sequel feels more like a video game than the last. It has a very fictional/cartoony feel to it now which will take a little time to get used to for most players. The camera seemed a lot more loose than usual and can get annoying real quick until you've adapted to it. The off board walking however is very very POOR. Surprising poor in fact as you can't even back up while facing forward and you're forced to turn with the right trigger. Moving objects is even worse because you have to rotate it with the right and move with the left making me wonder why anyone approved of this ridiculous control scheme in the first place.

They also dicked around with the physics engine which will undoubtedly garner mixed feelings. Flip tricks and manuals are a league easier to perform and land clean in/out of... but crouching for an ollie seems to cut your speed in half even after a 3-push forcing you to step your timing game up tremendously. Not a big deal, but WILL piss off a few until they've adjusted which thankfully doesn't take long. I've also noticed powersliding takes precedence over your feet stopping the board. After a few runs of the demo I still haven't found out how to stop to a halt now without sliding. Very annoying and one of the main reasons I'm not looking forward to racing downhill until I've figured it out.

All and all it's a definite buy for me. Just make sure you download the demo soon because I heard tomorrow is the last day to grab it.

P.S. - Because of the ollie issue and increased sensitivity for performing manuals going up vert ramps and getting any decent air was a huge problem for me. Pushing up usually meant an automatic nose manual so beware. I seriously hope I can get my bearings straight before the game's release.

I beat Dead Air and Blood Harvest by myself and Death Toll online to get the achievements for completing all 4 campaigns (already finished No Mercy with another friend weeks ago). I love this game.

For nothing special, must you beat all 4 campaigns in one sitting, or just beat all 4 at least once on Expert?

At the mounted mini-gun at the finale of Dead Air go and melee the shit out of it and jump on top of it where it'll send you flying. It'll take a lot of trial and error to get it to send you flying vertically instead of horizontally. Once you've got it to where you you can jump vertically, jump on top of the wing of the plane and just wait until they say it's okay for you to board the plane. From here the horde can't get you and only thing you should take caution of is smokers, since Tanks won't even know where you are so they'll disappear almost as soon as they arrive.

The trick is to add more if the bounce isn't right and to jump as close to the right side of the sand bags as possible so you end up directly on top of the gun.

You know you've done it right if you've only had to jump once because the glitch does the rest of the work. It's supposed to bounce you up the rest of the way. Also... camping on the wing isn't a great idea because Smokers are more likely to grab you there than anywhere else. The ideal spot is in the middle of the plane. Just use crouch melee and when the plane opens run to the tail. You'll immediately fall through it and land on the ground without taking damage.

The autoshotgun being less effective against the tank is something that's great to see. The tank has been really fun to play against survivors with the normal weapons, but I can't even get hits in when the entire other team has the auto shotgun.

LOL. One time during No Mercy, we had lost two people around the lift section by the gas station. I managed to get myself and another survivor to that first room through the hole (the one with the med station on the wall) and grabbed the other two survivors from that closet. While they all got situated, I checked the little narrow hall closet in that room and found the director had spawned a fucking tank.

Well, I need to abuse the Dead Air glitch before the patch. Damn homework! Maybe late tonight.

I'm going to put L4D aside for a while, but I definitely want to go for those versus achievements with you guys once Galego's Xbox makes the long trek to Mesquite and back.

Also, I think Safety First is actually easier with bots. They never hit you, so you are the only one at risk of causing any friendly fire damage (even if they hit explosives like a gas tank and you get burned, it doesn't count as friendly fire for the purposes of the achievement). Just run through the whole No Mercy campaign on Easy and only use melee. I used the Jesus room for the finale, which made it even easier. I think I fired three or four shots during the whole campaign, and it probably took me about half an hour from start to finish.

Besides the Jesus room...

The best pace really is to have one person on the turret, and the other three on the level right above/behind the turret. Turret person does their thing, while the others watch turret person's side and smokers off in the distance. When the tank comes, split half to the left, half to the right roofs. "Cycle" the tank or set it on fire until it dies, then repeat.

Just incase, "cycling" (this is what my friends and I call it, I don't know what it really is called) is:
The tank has a certain priority list. It targets whoever is doing the most damage to it. If someone gets downed by the tank, the downed person becomes priority one. When you cycle the tank, only one person shoots it enough to get the tank to chase them. Then someone else shoots the tank until they get chased (thus, becoming priority one) then another person shoots the tank, etc.

Or just light it on fire and run away from it (save your ammo).

You can also camp out under the ramps, which might be easier depending on who you play with.

I've beaten it a couple times on expert (with all the credit going to teammates who are MUCH better than I am) and once on easy (to get Untouchables) using the following strategy:

Go in the stairwell behind the room with the radio. Put two people at the bottom and two at the top. Then blast a couple holes in the doors big enough to shoot out. Usually, the doors themselves will last for a while, since you can shoot away a lot of the horde (through the holes) before they get close, and the rest of the door does a great job protecting you from smokers, hunters, and boomers.

When the tank comes, light it on fire and run. You can usually see it coming from pretty far off if you're up on the ledge with the minigun, and it's slow to climb, so it's usually not too hard to avoid it.

You have to use the shot-gun, auto shotty is better. Best way is to sneak behind her, get as close as possible and wait until you have her attention. While she's sitting, she's invulnerable. Once she starts to get up keep that shotty trained on her head and start pulling the trigger.

I ended up getting it this weekend, I was playing with a friend on Live and one of the AI players startled her. She wasn't paying any attention to me and I shot her at about neck level with the shotgun, achievement unlocked.

You probably already know this but you can boost Dead Reckoning fairly easily with one other person, a friend and I were doing it last night and we were getting about 900 points of damage for each turn as the infected.

I don't see any reason why not. We can't rely on the CAGL4D account since a large majority of those registered are rarely on so this thread is your best chance of finding someone to play with. Expert Blood Harvest is probably the most brutal introductions to L4D itself but you'll get much better at the game the more you drag your lifeless carcass back to it, haha.

I need a team for Blood Harvest because I have had nothing but bad luck this past week. Anyone wanna try The Tractor Glitch?

How to do the glitch:
Jesus Tractor (minimum of 2 human players)-- the tractor is in the corn field.
After getting to house and clearing zombies stock up. Then Go to tractor defend each other until everyone is on tractor. then last player run and call for rescue.
when all players get up there. sit and punch each other till the end then run (punching stops smokers from grabbing each other)

the easiest way on tractor is (as if approaching from the house) on the right hand side, the fence is leaning on tractor, jump on the fence and run up it, run and jump off the fence to the right but as soon as you leave fence hold left, so you go around to land on tractor (i recommend practising and best player at it goes to summon rescue, another way is to spam the jump button from the front of the tractor (but I cant manage this method but have seen it done)

When the chopper came, we both booked it, but he got hooked by a smoker. I made it out on the copter, but go no achievement for it. I'm guessing the glitch was left but they took out the achievement for it?

Anyway, here's a tip that just may save your ass on Blood Harvest. The tank was always the biggest obstacle on those runs, but a few friends and I got Blood Harvest on Advanced in one go with this trick.

We started simply enough with holing up in the bathroom until it was time for the tank. Then we all took that hard right to the bedroom balcony. The tank usually comes from somewhere outside and circle around the house. Well, he targeted me (most health) both times and I caught the AI in a loop. On the balcony, I turned around the left corner (which leads to the balcony meeting the house) to look for him. He started climbing up the house across from me onto the other side of the house, keeping me in view. If I moved back, he jumped down. If I moved up he climbed again. Once on the balcony, he wants to come straight at you but can't. So he stands there and beats his chest. I just opened fire until he died.

Fluke? Well, it worked the exact same on the second tank as well. I'd say there's a bit of luck involved depending on where the tank starts and chooses to converge on you, but I'm sure we've all seen the tank AI get stuck in a logic loop at times. Making him choose to climb could be a life-saver if we can replicate it again.

Which achievement were you trying to get? If it was untouchables, all 4 survivors have to take no damage. If your 3 teammates died after calling for rescue then you shouldn't get the achievement. :P

Despite the resistance though we handled Blood Harvest AGAIN tonight (I successfully dodged BOTH Tanks from punching my character's lights out :D) and helped knocked out Nothing Special for my teammates.

I'm so glad to be a two-time BH EXP survivor. Man... that campaign is back in the day Contra/Battletoads/The Karate Kid blowing in the cartridge really DID work hard. I'm down for another run tomorrow same time so feel free to message me.

Yep. The dashboard glitch still works my friend. I showed them the Dead Air glitch and that's where we finished up their Nothing Special achievements. Hilariously enough now if you smack the gun too much and jump on the far left of the bean bags you'll slingshot above the wing in an arch and land in the fire. Insta-death. I could have sworn they fixed it because I was screwing up so much, haha.

The biggest problem was not having a fourth and figuring out a way to to kill Zoey after starting the fuel pump. I couldn't make the jump for the fourth go so I had them kill me. It worked out rather well.

How long does it take you to finish a campaign on expert?

Legit run + all chapters + good team = Avg. 6 - 8 hours if you get lucky. Usually it's an all nighter depending on how hard the AI Director comes down on your team.

Dashboard glitch + finale + good team = 4 - 8 hours if everything can come together.

Dashboard glitch + finale + Jesus glitch for No Mercy, Dead Air, Death Toll = 20 minutes - ? depending on whether or not you're going for more achievements.

The BH Jesus glitch seriously isn't worth it. As much as I hate to admit it... it is honestly easier to beat the campaign the legit way. The dashboard glitch for the finale is mandatory though because you aren't likely to beat it on the first night. It took me a week and that was with a great team. I've got a decent handle on the map now though so it all comes down to formulating a plan your team is willing to stick with and communicating.

The most successful set up we've had is in the barn with or without items to set the Tanks on fire. You basically rush from the Safe Room (check your corners and cover your back for zombies that tend to hide behind trees) to the house because anyone who does die will insta-spawn there. If you can find a gas tank or molotovs more power to you, but they aren't mandatory. You can still get by without them. It's just harder.

Once you've reach the house and finished your item search you'll want to balance your team up. Two of you with ARs and the other two with Auto Shotguns regardless of whether or not you have access to fire for the Tanks. ARs for special infected while AS play the role of an added insurance policy should you miss a Tank or all hell has broken loose.

Head to the barn and have your team crouch to the wall on the far right next to the ammo. You want to be in the corner more or less but space out a bit so you won't hit each other and have a better view of the ladder and hay, but close enough so whenever a Smoker snags someone you'll be in perfect range to melee them off quickly. The far right corner of the ladder is where Smokers and Boomers tend to spawn the most so be aware. CROUCH MELEE SAVES LIVES SO I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. When backed against a corner and bundled together your team forms a nigh penetrable shield capable of downing entire hordes minus damage infliction when done properly.

Melee whenever you have to reload or help defend someone while they pick up another, communicate, save pills for outrunning Tanks when you're low on health and pay attention to the music. If you don't see the Tank there's a good chance he's either spawned behind the barn, directly below you INSIDE the barn or somewhere in the house so remain aware. Special infected tend to spawn with them so prioritize killing them asap while on your search. If you're running away from a Tank make sure to turn around periodically to avoid backing into debris. Don't worry about him throwing objects because by the time his animation is finished the house will absorb the blow as you make the turn.

If someone is being chased by the Tank and you've got a clear shot then hammer him from behind. If they get punched it's game over for them so swarm him and break away IMMEDIATELY once they've bit the dust. It's actually easier to have one person get chased and the rest of the team attack as they round the house. Again break away if and when targets someone else.

Once you've killed him it's back to the barn if you can make it. Rinse, wash, repeat. Compensate for any loss in your team with crouch melee and remain aware of special infected. Once you've killed the last Tank make a MAD DASH for the front of the barn because THAT IS WHERE THE APC IS GOING TO STOP. After that it's basically up to you guys. Run and melee if you're close enough to hop in and pray. >_>

P.S. - Always kill Boomers from long range and NEVER let them get close enough to melee. An Expert Tank is dangerous enough but Boomer bile WILL tag on an extra horde if it hits anyone so kill them as soon as humanly possible. Actually, once I joined (not saying I made it happen), we only spent about 2 hours on the BH finale. How long were you guys playing before that? The way I see it, if you're going to die, it will be before the cornfield. If you make it to the house, then it's just a question of whether or not you can survive both tanks.

As for me not getting the achievement, I can only guess it's because I went idle to change my battery. I need to get a play and charge kit :D

I'm not sure. I'd say at least 3 - 4 hours but I wasn't pay attention. Obviously the style of play, level of yourself and teammates will definitely lessen the amount of time it takes. Those were just my personal averages because I'm not that great on my own. ;(

No one is that great on their own. Teammates (and their strategy) are everything. Stay together and know how to support each other and you're 1000x better than one awesome guy with 3 other players who don't give a crap or the AI itself.

After we finish BH I need to find a group for the other two I haven't done (I've done NM already).

I've actually just started the game this past weekend so I've only got about 445 out of the 1000. I have exactly half. Some of the easier ones are field medic, pharm assist and dead giveaway. I have no versus achievements, and I still need some of the tougher ones like man vs tank, akimbo, cr0wnd, untouchables and unbreakable. I'm sure I can get some of those by trouncing through a campaign on easy though.

You should be able to swing all of them with the dashboard and Jesus glitches in a hour or so. Just modify the difficulty to Easy for Cr0wnd & Man Vs. Tank w/ the Auto Shotgun. You can definitely get Akimbo, Untouchables and Unbreakable with either of them. Obviously BH is the best campaign to get Cr0wnd because the game usually spawns a Witch before the house no matter what.

Can someone explain to me these Dashboard and Jesus glitches?

DBG = Taking advantage of a L4D glitch that allows everyone free access to campaign achievements by starting and finishing the finale only.

It's done by having one person create a lobby, start the game, invite the rest of the party in then back out onto the dash for a reinvitation. The only catch is that everyone has to start at the dash and if your character ever goes idle in the game you won't get the achievement even if you survive.

JG = An exploit on the map that allows players to evade hordes, special infected and glitch kill Tanks hence the name "Jesus Glitch".

No Mercy has the Jesus Room which you can attract and trick a horde into breaking down a door which will allow you access into a room. It's much easier to watch done than explain and YouTube has tons of videos on it. The programming is flawed so all zombies, special infected, Tanks and such can't run up the steps to gain access into the room so long as you hug the wall and remain there. Every so often two or three might drop down but they rarely run in. They just stand there staring at you in awe giving you enough time to kill them.

It isn't perfect though because the glitch will sometimes kill the second Tank, but freeze the game. The music will continue playing and you'll have to restart.

Dead Air has the Jesus Plane in which you can use a physics glitch on the gatling gun to slingshot your team on top of the plane where only Smokers can get to you. You basically crouch melee the gun until the bounce is adequate and jump on top of it. Once on top you simply crouch melee together in the middle of the plane to render Smokers useless then run to tail of plane. You'll phase right through it without taking damage right in front of the opening.

Death Toll has the Jesus Bolder/Rock/Whatever the hell you want to call it in which your team leaps on top of these rocks right next to the pier. It's so high off the ground and water that again only Smokers can get to you. Crouch melee to deal with them and you can kill Tanks yourself at your own discretion. Add the ridiculous amount of Pipe Bombs you usually find in the house and it's a guaranteed achievement.

Blood Harvest has the Jesus Tractor... but I'm not going to bother explaining that retarded glitch and not because someone already described it a few pages ago. The reason I'm against it besides the high level of difficulty required for pulling the jump off are the limitations of the glitch itself. Also the abundance of special infected and hordes auto-spawning whenever someone enters the cornfield. It's such a small roof you can only fit two people on top of it anyway. Unless you can pull it off consistently or are particularly in a masochistic mood I wouldn't try it.

Actually, I bet someone circling the house in BH could lead the tank while the person following unloaded with an assault rifle (to keep distance).

Yeah Hume's strategy would work if everyone had green health and the target didn't get clobbered from behind. Man Vs. Tank on Expert is definitely doable and awards at the very least a 1000 man points afterward.

I just beat the 2nd campaign, but I'm kinda mad. I got screwed out of 2 achievements by the game on the very last Chapter. The not healing one and the don't get barfed on one. When you melee a Boomer on a balcony, back up to the other side of it, and kill a boomer who is on the edge of the deck (I'm facing the water here) you should be out of range from boomer vomit. Oh, and for some reason I have to go around meleeing Zombies with my Health pack because the AI can't take a hint that I DON'T WANT TO HEAL >_<

seriously? have you played all the way through expert blood harvest? ive spent hours on the finale itself. itd be impossible just to get people together that are able to spend the amount of time it requires.

while i agree with your feeling on achievements in general it doesnt apply to expert runs on l4d, especially blood harvest expert runs.
