Does anyone have a good strategy for Last Stand? The best I have come up with is to hang out on the light house and hope you don't smokered and then get the hell off when a tank gets up there. My best time so far is a little past 5 minutes. 7 and 10 just don't seem doable with my strategy.

you can get 10,000 easily with survivor mode... if you last 4+ minutes and do it right without glitching, you can get like 600-700 kills per match easily.

Since when? Gears 1 added 250 points for free. Even if you exclude the temporarily paid-for map pack there was still 100 points to go with the free annex game mode. Gears 2 added 110 with free DLC. Crackdown added a bunch of free points with free DLC. PGR4 as well. Bioshock had zero premium DLC and still added 100 points for free.

You cant use crackdown beacuse it had in game ads which I am sure allowed them to put anything they wanted into the game. I wouldnt even count Gears 2 because the match making was so broken.

Cheesemints are not that big of a deal are they? Especially when the company has already delivered more patches and updates then most games in years. Ah well.

Played this for a couple hours yesterday and I have to say it is damn good.

Its hard as hell, as it should be and you have to be very skillful and have extremely good team work to get far. This mode is fantastic. There really isnt anything more exciting then trying to kill 2 tanks at one time knowing you have to do fast because you can hear hunter screams.

I never liked nazi zombies because I found it boring as hell. The only thing that was different from level 1 through level 21 was how fast the zombies moved. No real tactics, no real exciment, half the time I would just switch over to tv for the first 5 rounds.

I still love survival mode but god damn....it further points out just how horrible people are at this game.

With my friends we are get bronze easy every time (though I havent played a lot yet) and are slowly building up good scores. I try to play with a random group and we can barely get over 1 min and a half beacuse no one works together.

Lamb 2 Slaughter...depends on the opposing team. Someone running ahead? Wait at the saferoom. With luck they'll go inside and if his teamates get in trouble outside he'll open up the door.

All 4 Dead...again depends on the opposing team. Keep in mind you only have to incap them all, not kill them. Hitting them off of rooftops to their death does NOT count. Easiest way is to hit an object into a group of survivors.

Stomach Upset...Dead Air on easy with 3 bots. Turn subtitles on. When you get the boomer alert STOP and wait for the boomer to come out. Carefully kill him and continue on. On the finale camp behind the plane, no boomer will get close with three bots.

Nothing Special...good luck!

WAYTTP/ZM...easiest to do with a group of experienced players, really. I would strongly advise using public matches for these achievements. Keep in mind after a recent update you actually have to SURVIVE the finale to get credit. Also, don't go idle or leave the session or you'll have to start over. This includes lagging out.

Unbreakable...you can use pills and die. Keep this in mind. If an AI starts to heal you, take out your medpack. This will stop them from doing so. Obviously play on easy.

Safety First...No Mercy easy with 3 bots. Just run through all the levels melee spamming. Shoot carefully when absolutely necessary. Don't pick up a shotgun.

Man vs Tank...Start a campain on expert with 3 bots. Incap them all and change the difficulty to easy. Lock them in the saferoom and run through the level until you find a tank to kill.

Do Not Disturb...Just play easy campaigns. Stay absolutely as far away from the witch as possible so the bots don't wake her up. If you see an unavoidable witch, kill yourself so you can redo the level and hope for a better witch spawn.

Untouchables...Easiest way to do it would be the rock at the end of Death Toll. But it's far more rewarding to do it legit.

well easier said than done...it would be easier with a team of CAGs
i have yet to run into a bunch of noobs when i am a tank...they usually lite me on fire...then run away from me....or hide somewhere i cant get to

Hey I am down for some L4D gaming! Been trying to run the campaign on expert, but people online don't seem to know what to do etc.

Also for the All 4 Dead achievement you can do it with 2 controllers. Start up a vs match against yourself. I did it on NM Subway, when the profile you want to get the achievement on becomes the tank, use the other controller to wound the AI then have them run in and get crushed.

VS. is the worst place to try it. Just do no mercy on easy with 4 good players. Move fast and stick together. You can even try it with bots on easy.

blood harvest is the easiest to get the achievement. My friend managed to do it alone with 3 ai but it all comes down to where the tank spawns before the last chapter =(

yea I know that it's a whole campaign, it's the only one I need. As for the behavior they did fine for me but I grouped around the end of the place after the second tank and was able to just hope in, the bots were rigth with me seeing as they didn't need to follow from the back wall all the way down.

Valve has always seen the value in gathering real-world gameplay data and using it to improve our products. Now we're hoping you'll find it as useful as we do. With the creation of the L4D stats page, our customers will now be able to see a wide variety of gameplay data across all of Left 4 Dead's various game modes.

Use the stats page to track your performance; see which aspects of your gameplay are improving over time, which are your go-to weapons, and how often you use various characters and features.

You can also use your stats page to compare your statistics against other players, giving you a quick and easy way to see how your accomplishments measure up to your friends and find players at your own skill level. You can also track negative statistics (like damage dealt to other teammates, for example), giving you a good idea of which players to avoid.

The stats page is broken up into four different pages: Overview, Weapons, Versus and Survival.

Overview
The Overview page contains an at-a-glance breakdown of your overall gameplay stats: your most recent game data; favorite characters; favorite level one and level two weapon; and how often you use and share pain pills and first aid kits. You can also see your total games played, finales survived, and the total number of zombies you have killed so far.

Weapons

Versus
The Versus page shows how often you play as each of the playable zombies in Left 4 Dead, and how well you perform with each. It's not that fun, because the "prep" is not really that satisfying.

What I'd like to see, is a customizable Survival mode where you can choose what types of enemies show up (i'd like just Zombies). Also, it would be amazing to have a mode where you can build your own fort, place gun turrets, walls, stock up on food ect. That would make me a happy Francis.

Agreed, No Mercy is easiest. A lot of tight corridors and not too much open space. I hate the AI though; their great to help me when I just want to beat a campaign, but for achievements, they're always in my way. I wish you could change a setting to make them hang back more. I guess I could just kill them at the beginning of the level.

I for sure say No Mercy, best way to get the Safety First is to stick close to the AI and let them do pretty much all of the shooting, it's boring but best way to make sure you don't accidentally shoot them right before level is over (Has happened to me a few times). Also with the Stomach Upset one again, the AI are pretty good about getting boomers while still far away, also keeping a sniper rifle helps too.

so i just had a heartbreaker. went through with 3 other guys for upset stomach. first try, we got boomed on in the 2nd level, so we restarted the campaign. then we make it the whole way through without getting boomed on and don't get the achievement. so we're pretty sure that even though we restarted the campaign, since we didn't go back to the lobby, we got screwed. that shit hurts.

Yeah, I'd like to do 3 of the Expert Campaigns (I got through Blood Harvest about 2 hours ago, man...what a tale). I also need help with Back 2 Help and some other achievements.

Here's what happened on the final part of Blood Harvest:
We're at the barn, and the Power Shot is first brought to my attention. So after learning how to do it and testing it out myself, we go and do our thing. First tank comes, and I power shot the tank...well...would have if my teammate didn't get in the way the instant I fired, killing him in the process. Yeah, not going to end well.

So, near the end a second tank comes and he's climbing on the power generator, and me and my friend are trying to shoot the tank but our Power Shots won't go, so we have to charge them more. The tank gets in our faces and we both power shot him at the same time for a quick KO.

The rescue vehicle is here, so we go down and my friend gets pounced on by a hunter somehow. I kill the Hunter, and he tells me to go towards the vehicle. As the ramp is being lowered I jump up and I get stuck so I'm meleeing these Zombies my health going down and I somehow manage to pull myself down then jump back on the ramp and into the vehicle to clear the Campaign!

Bellevue's Valve piggybacked onto Microsoft's E3 press conference this morning, which included a glimpse of "Left 4 Dead 2. (http://store.steampowered.com/news/2552/)"
The sequel to Valve's hit zombie game goes on sale Nov. 17 in versions for the Xbox 360 and PC.
In the teaser video, a group of people fighting off a horde of zombies fires the last bullet as a huge one approaches. After the dreaded click, the screen goes dark, then a chainsaw fires up, introducing one of the game's new weapons.
Players will also be able to defend themselves with frying pans, axes and baseball bats in the southern-tinged action title.
"With the knowledge gained from creating the original, new technology, and a passionate team, L4D2 will set a new benchmark for cooperative action games,'' Valve President Gabe Newell said in the release. Also new in the game is melee combat "to enable deeper co-operative gameplay."

Jesus rock still works for sure, I have done it a few times since the patch. Only thing will be making it there which shouldn't be a problem since we were able to do it on Blood Harvest.

I think the AI Director took pity upon us after he repeatedly raped us on Chapter 3. Thank God we were able to get through that. Thank you very much for the help!!! We actually ended up getting another friend of Cleaner7's in there to play, so we didn't have to deal with the AI. I was expecting much worse on Blood Harvest honestly, I think we lucked out a lot on everything except chapter 3.

First and foremost I've got to thank Badkins and Cheese Sandwich for helping me slay the savage beast that is Safety First. The AI Director can kiss my pristine black ass. God... I hated boosting for that damn achievement.

I think the AI Director took pity upon us after he repeatedly raped us on Chapter 3. Thank God we were able to get through that. Thank you very much for the help!!! Finally done with What Are You Trying To Prove? but I am more than willing to help others with Expert campaign or just play for fun. I love me some L4D!

Heh, I was more than happy to help. I just rarely get invites these days. Contrary to popular belief I would LOVE any excuse to ditch my Gears 2 obsessed friends to play something else. Your leadership skills were very good to say the least IMO. Like I said, I doubt we could have done that without you there helping us. The only thing that was giving us trouble really was chapter 3, the rest we were able to do in a couple tries at most.

I enjoyed it, however, am I missing out by not using the shotgun or the machine gun? Should I wait until after I have beat the game to try for this achievement? That is an easy achievement if you have 3 people with you. Play through the game and enjoy it, also it can be done solo.

The joy is in how you play the game. Doing a run-through doing it one way is not going to devalue the experience a particular level has for replayability.

Damn, 12.48 at target? I already have the game but might pick up another so I can trade it in a gamestop.


Anyway, I am deciding whether or not I should trade this game in or sell it. I have beaten everything 1000/1000 and golds on all the survival maps. With L4D2 not being to far away I might unload this to get max value.

I started playing this again with a few friends, and we found new ways to change up the game by adding our own "meta games." For example, one inspired by the Half-Life 2 gnome achievement is to have one person carry around a gas can for the entire campaign. It's up to your group whether or not that person can drop it or not, but the main thing is to not get tempted to use the gas can, and not to accidentally shoot the person with the can. If that is too easy, have multiple people carry around an object throughout the entire campaign.
