ok so i know, i know another "best of" and "Rarest" topic that we have probably seen many times. But i havent seen this one in a while and would love to know more specifically the Import games(ps1,ps2,saturn,dreamcast,ect.) that are the ones that were not issued in the USA and therefore more expensive, rare, hard to find stuff. Anime related RPGS seem to comand good dollars such as the saturn ones i've found. But I guess I'm looking for the CAGers that have a profound knowledge on Import games and can tell us which are the ones to search after. I believe alot of american gamers do not know much about Jap exclusive games and need to learn what to search for. Hopefully the more informed can help. Thanx guys

Tobal 2 for the JP PS1 goes without saying - amazing damn game.
Kurushi Final (I.Q. Final) JP & PAL, PS1 brings a better 2-player experience to Intelligent Qube. That being said, I.Q. Remix for the PS2 is damn rare.
Shaolin by THQ was released only in PAL territories, bringing 8 person fighting to the PS1.
Oh yeah, and Microman for PS1 JP, the Micronauts game -- very limited release -- game play is a little similar to Silent Bomber, but with guns instead of bombs.
My brother picked up a bunch of PS1 PAL games in Scotland -- the kid didn't know about PAL issues -- I would call him a dumb-ass except that he is my brother and he jusr did not know any better. Baby Universe, Constructor, Vib-Ribbon.
Any version of Vib-Ribbon is getting hard to find, PAL or JP. The prob with Vib-Ribbon is that it won't run in most emulators.
Xi Jumbo - Devil Dice 2 - JP only.
I am having a really hard time finding a copy of "Tall Twins Tower" for JP PS1, the sequel to "Tall Infinity" that was released by Agetec here in the states.
I once saw a Sega Saturn cart for Soul Edge -- not sure if it was an official release, or some kind of crazy HK bootleg.

No idea about the Saturn. For a US PS1 and PS2, the PAL signal is just not supported in the hardware -- so even if you have an old Amiga monitor that supports PAL, the Sony consoles will not send a PAL signal no matter how you mod them.
To run a PAL PS1 game on a US NTSC PS1 console, you first have to buy the game (which is really hard to do, because of the rarity of PAL games along with the high cost of overseas shipping), then rip the ISO file to a PC, from there you have to run a PAL conversion which changes the scan line rate, and reburn to a disc - and u sometimes have to try this several times to get it right. And then you have to have a chipped or plug-modded console. It is way more trouble than it is worth for PAL games, way, WAY more trouble than it is worth.
I really wanted Kengo 2 for the PS2, but after looking into all the crap you have to do, I decided to just save my money and buy another cheap US NTSC game. There is no way to run a PAL game on a PS2, and I do not read Japanese at all.
I am not sure about BLEEM!, but CVGS does play some PAL PS1 games, though not all. Vib-Ribbon JP or PAL won't run in CVGS, nor will Tobal 2. Kurushi (IQ) Final did run just fine, the PAL version at least.

No, it should play most JP PS2 games, but as I don't speak JP, and a game like Kengo 2 requires some JP reading skills, it just ain't worth "my" time, effort, or money.
Having done a little JP importing on the PS1 (Tobal 2, Microman, D3 The Kendo, D3 The Sumo, XI Jumbo -- only games never released in the US) I have found that a game has to be really damn good to be worth the time and effort. Tobal 2 was worth it, the rest were not. XI Jumbo might have been fun, but I just could not get thru the text heavy menu system to enjoy it.
As far as PAL, it will prolly let u play PAL games too, but they will look like ass because of the lack of hardware support. My brother bought a bunch of PAL games, and more often then not, it was just easier to go buy the US NTSC version than to waste my time doing a conversion. The exception was IQ Final, but after a conversion, the music won't run without skipping -- where is the fun in that?
Like I said, a game has to be really special, like Tobal 2, not have a high Japanese requirement to be worth the effort. As a CAG, my time is better spent on a high quality $4.99 clearance titles than on shaq-fuing importing. Shit, you can buy Grand Theft Auto III for $9.99 this week... surely playing that is more fun than trying to convert PAL games, or working thru esoteric screens of Japanese. I can understand if you are a completist - afterall I really needed Tobal 2 (can't play the RPG though because of the JP), and maybe I would have been happier with the JP IQ Final -- each person will have to decide for themselves the effort vs. value equation.
Having been there in the last gen, I just am not interested in wasting my time or money in this gen -- Kengo 2 really sent me over the edge, and liberated me from my need to shaq-gu around with the whole import scene... though I am still looking for a JP PS1 version of "Tall Twins Tower" if anyone can help hook me up :-)

Toilet Kids for the PC Engine is one of the weirdest things you will ever see and a major asset to any collection of rare games.

Dracula X for Turbo Duo, while not necessarily rare, it wasn't released in the US and it commands an average of $125 on eBay.
