"I'm hearing it [Sony] will be repackage the Playstation 2 to compete with Nintendo by including a Wii Remote-like waggle wand for $99 this holiday season" (I definitely think this is too late to the party)

Edit : Woops my mistake, it wasn't Sony's blog, but they sent Game Life the following statement.
This rumor is absolutely not true. There are currently no plans to add motion-sensing capability to the PlayStation 2 controller.

Why would they add additonally functionality to a console that isn't really being developed for much anymore, and is already sells like fucking hotcakes as is.

I have a feeling the epic deal has more to do with UT3 content and HDD usage than anything else. If done right for consoles, UT could be the next big thing, since halo is getting it's final release and should have died off a while ago.

I'm shocked shadowrun got such high scores. For a game that has been in production forever, it feels so unfinished and unpolished.

Everyone is predicting the Kojima thing. What have they successfully done that wasnt MGS though? Am I forgetting something big or is there really nothing else. Then again they seem to be the only "hide in the shadows" stealth developer left now that SC has changed directions.

In one of the updates for the website they revealed barrels will play a bigger role. Maybe this has something to do with that revelation. :)

Havok makes no sense, and is nothing but a waste of resources for what is basically a 2D game.

Anyone else think Q-Man is shane? By the way he talks on 1up yours and other podcasts (making shit up and spreading rumors like he knows everything) he seems like the best fit.

Crush should be enjoyed by all. The darkness got shafted because one of them didn't like the length of the game and the nonsensical side quests/mission structure.

Can't wait to rent/buy (already played at a friend's house) The Darkness. That game looks phenomenal, while who ever rated The Darkness so low is just comical.

All Sony has to do is announce such a game, and we'll be hearing that its a Halo/GoW killer from the Sony fanboys for the next 2 years. Killzone 1 comes to mind.

Didn't Forza 2 come out at the end of May? damn...print magazines are 2 months behind.


edit: of what I played of the Darkness, 6.5 sounds about right. I only got through about a 1/4 of it though.

Forza was under the "Too Little or Too Late" section of the reviews in July's issue. Most of the games that fall under that category, especially one as noteworthy as Forza, see their reviews in the next issue.

I haven't played the Darkness yet, but from reading this review and other reviews, he seems to have valid complaints. Bad AI, poor mission structure, tacked on MP. Again, I haven't played the game, but if I read those complaints about ANY game that have been found in multiple reviews, I'd raise an eyebrow. But I still very much look forward to getting this game in the future.

Anyways, lame rumors. The stupid made up shit about the PS2 motion stuff is seriously one of the stupidest rumors I've ever heard. Rad about AC/DC and Rock Band, odd about Havok in Brawl, and Capcom doing a PS3 exclusive? Considering the track record so far...well, I'll believe it when I see it.

Michael Donahoe [Sp?] did he was talking about it on the EGMLive podcast .

He said it was stupid that you don't know where your girlfriend lives , and other things someone who wasn't paying attention to the game as they play it would probably say .

He really made an ass of himself , IMO . I lost total respect for any professional criticism he may have of any game from now on .

That Kojima thing isn't much of a rumor. He has stated plent of times he would like to make another Zone of the Enders game but can't until MGS 4 is complete.
