LSC has found a new gimmick to keep the masses addiicted to this game.

Once in a while list a decent item, let a ton of people redeem, then refund tickets to a majority of those redeemed.

Do know how to count their inventory or what? Why not take the prize off the list immediiately ? Do they not count the redemptions in real time?

I imagine people's got canceled because they've just shipped some. I'd guess people will start getting them on Tuesday.

Since they haven't been canceled yet I think I'm in the clear.

By the times of the cancellations, I'm guessing that the gift cards were shipped yesterday. USPS takes a maximum of 3 days, often times just 2 days through Priority Mail, so I think we might see some people get them as soon as tomorrow, but I'm just guessing. If they do indeed ship from Chicago (some have said cl ships stuff from Chicago), then I might get mine tomorrow! I'm hoping I do (which is certainly coloring my predictions!) as I'm getting home on Sunday, which will give me a chance to redeem them. However, I also leave home on Sunday again, so if I don't get them on Saturday, I won't get a chance to redeem them till next Sunday, putting me behind everyone else on redeeming them.

(checked again, I actually ordered within about 45 minutes of them coming back. Maybe those of you who thought you ordered in 30 minutes of them being posted didn't know when they came back exactly?)

UPDATE: Went back and did some snooping. People had their magazine gc orders zeroed on the 7th of June (at least that's when mine were canceled) which was a Saturday. 2 business days later, on the 10th, SuperSonic got his gc's. So, judging by people's orders being canceled yesterday/today, we'll see ppl get some gcs tomorrow, monday or tuesday.

There are two problems with this. The first is that according to UPS the reference number is an optional number assigned by the shipper, and checking the box from my Rock Band shipped in June LSC didn't assign one. The second problem is this number would likely change with each batch of shipments, so we would need someone to report the reference number of each batch of prizes giving a few days warning at most. If only there was a way to track packages by shipper or destination address.

I can't remember exactly how long it took to get my tumbler and Rock Band, but I'd say it was around 2 to 3 weeks. If they're still keeping on track you should hear something soon for your Rock Band. I did get a shipping confirmation from them. Good luck!

Have 2.5K Points, saving up for a 360 Controller and then Rock Band. The Chicktionary Game is pretty easy but is very tedious, especially since you have to play it at least 50 Times a Day to get 1,000PTS)

I did the Picture This game, but usually I didn't get more than 15Pts when I played.

The "security thing" in flexicon can be avoided one of two ways, 1) don't fill the crossword up all at once, solve a word, click the search, and take your time (to an extent) or 2) fill it all the way out, and click as fast as you want on the solve buttons but only do it 5 at a time, with a few seconds pause in between.

I find that I can can click the solve buttons as fast as I want, as long as every 5th one I stop, wait till the lights on the side stop flashing, and count to 1 (about a 1 second pause, I literally say, "0, 1" in my head). Either way, it apparently throws a switch if you solve more than 5 without letting that pause happen. I've always found that flexicon was the fastest way to earn tickets, but I've been on the anagram kick lately...

This is very true as well, but those searches pay money. Ultimately, if they break even as far as money in and prizes out/payroll/etc for LSC, they'll be fine with it, since every search that happens in LSC is one that wouldn't have happened otherwise, and helps their market share.

Actually it's only one bird. You can google to find a better story on how search engines make money, but here's the short version. The search engine makes money by selling space to advertisers. The greater percentage of the market a search engine commands 1) the greater number of advertising spaces they have to sell, 2) the more they can charge for each of those spaces because more people will see the ads. When LSC started MS had virtually no market share, and then jumped up to I believe just under 20% in the month after LSC started. After they started fighting bots (which potentially reduce what they can charge advertisers) that number has dropped.

Prizes are removed from the site when they are out of stock. So there was a few months where the promotions companies were switching and the desktop was unavailable.

A confirmation email and a shipping confirmation email are two entirely different things. Since you (I haven't heard different) always get an order confirmation email immediately, when someone mentions a "confirmation email" they generally mean the shipping email that gives you the UPS tracking number.

I am still waiting on, to be more precise, the Wireless Bluetooth Optical Desktop Elite. I have never received a confirmation for it, since placing the order on February 24th.

And it may be a regional thing, but LSC's new prize distributor is Arvato USA, which has a location not but 10 minutes away from me here in Louisville. I received Kameo in less than a week, actually.

Unfortunately though, it's not all peaches. In addition to still not getting my prize/having my tickets returned, the third Xbox 360 Controller for Windows I've ordered is also being hung in limbo, as well. That was after a less than 2 week turnaround on the second one I ordered.

The interface on the device, or the interface on your computer?

The computer interface was a little confusing/stupid at first, but I'm used to it now and I like it better than iTunes. It still has its faults, that's for sure, but unless you're very computer illiterate, it's a piece of cake to move files onto it. My biggest complaint is no one links to Zune podcasts properly and I don't use the marketplace (another common complaint) which apparently does a good job of adding podcasts properly. I always have to use a generic xml feed and copy and paste it into the Zune software.

The device interface is about as simple as it gets, and the transitions are very pretty as well.

I downloaded two free albums of various artists. One, it made a new album for every artist on the album. For the other, it picked one song and won't add the rest. And I have about 1000 songs with bad metadata. I don't even remember how long I've been trying to fix things.

Anyways, if anyone has ordered song downloads before, how long does it take them to give you a code/codes? I ordered them on 7-20-08, so this would be the 3rd business day, even though the day is not over yet. Maybe I'm just being impatient, but I couldn't expect it to take them more than 1 or 2 days to copy and paste a code(s) and send it via email.

I don't believe you got screwed. A similar thing happened to me when I ordered the Xbox the last time it was up. The new company has changed the rules so that you can order up to 3 of the hardware/software items. I had a mild panic when I saw that I needed X amount of tickets to get an Xbox, but then I checked my order history and it was still there so I assumed, like you said, it's just a tally of what it would take to get another one. Oh, and I did receive that first 360 I ordered, so I think you're in the clear.

Yes, I think it's been gone for about 3 weeks or so. If it comes back up you have to jump on it pretty quick. Stay tuned to CAG and someone will let you know, probably within minutes, of it coming back up.

WOW, just WOW. First off, I think he he deserves some credibility since he has been here longer than BOTH of you and he is the only one who investigated this subject to the degree he did. If you were to atleast give him the benefit of the doubt, you could have realized that he more than likely saw that the Magazine.com cards were back on THIS FORUM, and then when he checked it out not too much longer on the actual site, he noticed they were SUBSCRIPTION CARDS. So, then he decides to help everyone by saying what he had already known. Besides, the majority of the cards were refunded, so if anything, he would have been saving people time.

My Zune arrived!!!!!! It's black even though the color of the box was brown. I thought for sure it was brown colored one but upon opening it was black. I ordered it on the 26th. I didn't get a shipping email and live in CA. I also had to sign for it.

Strangely, it got two stickers (one overlapping the other) on the area where the bar code and serial number is. I can faintly see the bar code and numbers of the bottom sticker. I tried separating the stickers but no go. Anyone know whats up with that? I didn't get a refurbished or something right? lol.

Mine is the exact same way. It's not refurbished, and when you see the load of songs, pictures and videos all of that is supposed to be there on a new Zune...

It most likely is a refurb, just like mines. It came preloaded with some grunge music.

I'm hoping they bring back PGR3, that was the first thing I was going to order once I got the 360. Now that I have enough tickets stored up, I'm picking things up to go along with the 360, another controller, Rock Band, etc, now they need to bring PGR3 back and the 360 and I'll be set.

Nice, I got Forza 2 (not from the site) so I'm not very interested in PGR3. If they don't bring it back I'm sure you could find that one really cheap somewhere. Good luck!

That's odd. Usually, if it's from LSC, it will give you a tracking number and if you scroll down a little on the email, it will tell you what has shipped. I've never received a tracking number without them telling me what was being shipped.

It is apparent that the GCs that they first gave out were cashcards, now they are cards that are only used for subsciptions, hence LSC calling them $15 and $25 SUBSCIPTIONS, not GIFT CARDS. And, the timing of his posts makes perfect sense: SuperSonic checks CAG> has a life(unlike you)>goes to LSC to see that they have changed>posts about it
