I just read about vERO, and it said that eBay will just remove any items that violate it. It doesn't seem like Microsoft cares about people selling Vista Ultimates, since most every Vista Ultimate auction I've watched has completed with no problems, and I doubt any of them were licensed resellers. None of them claimed they were.

It seems like vERO would only be a problem if the Vista you were trying to sell wasn't an official Retail version, and these are official retail versions. They come in a normal box and everything. Here's proof:

To answer the question from a few pages back, Vista wasn't removed on the 21st. I ordered my first one on the 24th. My second one was ordered on the 29th. So in between there sometime was when it was taken off.

VeRO just protects against burned copies, as I accidentally managed to purchase once (who knew GBA games could be so easily pirated, and so badly knocked off O_o) and/or selling OEM editions w/o hardware.

Thanks for confirming that for me and the rest of us. I thought there must've been something wrong, as there are plenty of auctions on eBay for retail versions of Vista Ultimate, and I only saw one seller that claimed that they were a "Microsoft Authorized Reseller".

I was wondering how long it would take them before they started cracking down on that. Did your friend get an e-mail or something telling him his account was canceled because of bots??

Also I wonder if that's part of the delay in prize fulfillment? Maybe they want to weed out some of the accounts that used bots to get the pts so they don't have to fulfill their prize requests...

Actually, I really don't see there being any harm in this. You're not changing their stock, taking money or lying. Say it was a gift and they got you the wrong color, you just want to swap it. Of course, if they ask did they buy it here... well, they you're going to lie.

I think all the Zunes I've seen people get so far have all been brown. They will probably all be brown, since thats probably the most unpopular color...it would be easier for them to get those to ship instead of others

I suppose you could try to trade with someone else here...I really doubt you would be able to walk into a store and exchange ur Zune for a different color...

If it really bothers you that much, you could go get the leather case for it, so you don't see the color.

Wrong. It used to be based off post count, but after we moved to vBulletin, it was based off time of membership.

Point cap is just beyond the realm of bots. From what I've read, you can only get like 18k with bots since some games were lowered and others don't work with bots.

ok. last time. when you redeem your tickets, you will be given a date that is EXACTLY 8 weeks from the current date. That's why IL says to you estimated ship date. It falls in their 6-8 wk shipping window, and when you get it in 5 wks they look like miracle workers.

I wouldn't recommend mounting it outside, as it's probably not UL-rated for outdoor use, which means one thunder/snowstorm and the thing is probably history. Depending on how far your comp is from your door/window, you might need a repeater too, as the max length allowed for a regular USB cable is 5m according to the spec.

I don't know if it was the speed I was completing the game (doing it manually but with the solutions open in another window). Looks like another measure included to stop people from using automated bots or macros. I don't know if this happens with Chicktionary or Crosswire because I'm maxed out on those games.

Awesome, perhaps they'll do that for other games and readd the previous puzzles .. its the easiest fix and I'm honestly surprised it took them this long, I'll go play a game or two of Flex and see if it does that.

I just think you should know, that cheating DOES affect the rest of us. It's the reason there are lower caps on prizes, the reason Vista Ultimate is gone, and the reason everything is on backorder.

Yep, am ashamed to say I was once part of the problem. I used a crosswire bot to earn those points after the update last sunday. Even though it wasn't me personally, but its the price you pay to get as much points.

I've played two puzzles and this has happened on both of them. I think it may be the speed at which I click on the blue magnifying glasses once I fill in all of the letters. I click them in succession pretty quickly and I usually get it about 4 clicks in.

Yeah that's what I've been hearing too. I didn't receive a confirmation e-mail and at first I was sweating it but after hearing from those who've actually received their prizes I'm not as worried. I e-mailed the support staff about my prize and got a canned response. In it they said I successfully placed an order and the current shipping estimate is 8 wks. Anywho, found another broken flexicon. I dunno if there's a way of reporting broken ones, or if they're seeded on purpose. But the clue in one of them is "Sign up for a class" and while it has enough space for the answer (enroll), apparently they only encoded the game board a certain size, so you'll never see the blue search button :( It'll snag you 24 tickets if you finish the rest of the puzzle and "skip" it though.

And Mein Gott, I just saw what you folks have been talking about in regards to the rampantness of that other site.
