WTF... make up your mind on which day to record already. You're like a TV network who keeps moving a great show until nobody knows when it's on.
On the Wii selling more than the PS3 6 to 1 in Japan, you forgot to mention that it means publishers can reach a much bigger customer base.

So far, this has been a Great episode. I am about half way through
I really enjoyed your E3 Preview, it is good to hear that you will be seeing a lot of the big Fall releases.
There have been so many great quotes in this episode such as "Shit Piece" and "Tasted like Burning"
on Wombat's Super Paper Mario situation:
you don't actually have to fight all 100 warriors to progress the storyline after you fight about 20 or so somthing happens that causes you to leave that world. after the main game is over you can go back and defeat all 100 warriors as a side quest
And to Wombat on the "O word": There is nothing wrong with talking about Oblivion. It is a game that you happen to enjoy very much and you should be able to talk about it as much you want.

Great show again Cheapy and Wombat!
Ship, that Transformers movie review was right on the money, lol !
There were 4 parts that in the film that infuriated me
1) In the beginning, that spanglish speaking latino stereotype, who was such a brickhead he had to be reminded that it was "english only".
2) The scene were Shia Lebeouf spends 20 minutes looking in his room for some freakin glasses.... "ebay item #234412-1211... blah blah blah..."
3) The part where the chick says to bumble bee "You shoot, I'll drive" followed by a weird sudden change in music from apocalyptic "the world is gonna end" style to upbeat hoo-rah heavy rock music. terrible transition / editing.
4) And of course the little sprinkle here and there of modern propaganda, "Sir, there's no way that signal could've been from Iranian hackers"
P.S., Did anyone see that trailer before the movie? Untitled JJ Abrams Project. It was like somekind of going-away party in NYC, when suddenly there was a huge explosion. There was some crazy roaring, and fireballs flying eveywhere. on the IMDB forums, some compared the sound to the smoke monster on LOST, but my first reaction was.... Emergence Day.

As for Suda 51.

I respect Shipwreck's opinion, but I feel that he was wayyyy to harsh on Transformers. Granted I'm nowhere a huge fan like he is.......but it was a freaking great movie even with all of the plugs and everything. Prime saying the ebay line was a bit cheesy but they are "robots" ya know and they would prob know about the "in" websites. Other then that great show, and Cheapy can you visit the THQ booth for me and tell me about the WWE Smackdown 2008 booth? Usually they have a hot diva there to be eye candy so even if you hate wrestling games you can always go for T&A :p

I like football.
Also I thought mtxpower had a point about sony removing parts from the PS3. Sure the cost of production has come down but that is true for all the systems (probably most for the 360 which hasn't had a price drop yet). With how the system is selling now they probably need to drop the price by $100 to try and catch up(especially if the 360 has a price drop). That would require removing parts and other cost cutting moves.

30 minutes before getting to any gaming news!? GOTDAMN! I love the CAGCast more than life itself, but hells bells guys... I need a longer commute to keep up!
Just saw Transformers... I'm not a 'fan' of them, though I did grow up with the show. From a non-fan, it was alright, but I can see how fans would feel shortchanged. Ship is right on with the product-placement complaint, and the action scenes are a blur of gears and metal, but its got some good gags and enough explosions to keep you awake... not great, but worth a look if you want a big popcorn film.

I was listening to shipwreck's review right before i went out to see transformers so I was kinda bummed but I actually enjoyed it. I was a big fan of the show when I was a kid, and I hated the way all the robot faces were designed, and I could have gone without jar jar but I still found it worth my money and not the total rape of my childhood that I was expecting.

OMG Shipwreck, that was such a horrible review for Transformers.
I hope you listeners out there don't take his word for it and seriously go see the film.
I've been a fan since the 80's, stopped with Beast Wars, watched some of the others but nothing quite lived up to G1 or Beast Wars. I saw the movie and I was in total awe the whole time. Its a great flick, its got action, comedy, and giant fucking robots. So there's product placement...big deal...Its nothing that hasn't been seen in any other movie before. Its not as blatant as Shipwreck seems to mention, you don't feel like you're watching a commercial, names are shown and thrown in there...thats it.
The move is spectacular if you watch it without nitpicking every little detail. Anyone can do this to any movie and kill the enjoyment of the film. Just go watch it and enjoy it for what it is, you won't be disappointed. It seriously puts Spider-Man and Pirates of the Caribbean to shame.
Oh and BTW Shipwreck, the little robot is called Frenzy, please for God's sake don't compare him to Jar Jar Binks. Frenzy didn't talk, he was there for comedic performance, and he pulled it off, Jar Jar Binks was just there to annoy. Ratchet was the yellow ambulance (H2 Hummer).

Yeah, I realized that I mistakingly called Frenzy "Ratchet". But he does talk in places and his brand of comedy is very similar to Jar Jar.
I really could talk for hours about the numerous reasons I thought this movie was horrible, but that would involve talking about a lot of spoilers. The product placement is above and beyond anything that has been seen before: there's a freaking scene where it zooms in to show the GMC logo transform into place for crying out loud.
I wholeheartedly stand by my review, but I respect that others may enjoy the movie.

Am I the only one that is flumuxed that Cheapy expected a game based on an anime would be the one to show how accurate the Wii motion controls could be? Cheapy, do you live in a bizarro world where games based on anime are bastions of excellence?
In regards to No More Heroes, it does not have 1:1 motion controls for regular attacks. For normal attacks, you hold the Wiimote in either a high, low, or middle position and press A to slash out combinations. Special moves, however does require you to do some crazy slashing with the Wiimote. You can also preform wrestling moves with the nunchuck and Wiimote.
Finally, keep up the good work on the podcast, Wombat and Cheapy. I really enjoy listening to your takes on videogame new.

I just had such an opposite reaction for the film and I thought by the way you talked about it, it would scare potential viewers. If you think about it the product placement thing is not that big of a deal. I understand that the intention is for the movie makers to cash in on it but at the same time, it works in trying fit everything in with what's currently going on in the real world.
Sam was selling his Great Grandfathers glasses on eBay, a GMC logo on the grill of the truck moving, the SD card. If you think about it and if instead of eBay, GMC, or Panasonic, they threw in made up brands, made up cars, it wouldn't have the same effect on the viewers. With the brands in our faces, it relates to the real world, we do see car logos all the time and we all know how popular eBay is...if you want to sell or find somethig, its on eBay. The vending machine for instance, it could have been a made up soda, so what if it had the Mt. Dew label.
Sorry for rambling, didn't mean to attack you, I apologize if it seemed like I did. I just felt as strongly about this film in a postive way, as you did in a negative way.

I don't understand why you think based on product placement would be a huge factor on why you would dump all over this movie. Granted there was quite a bit of product placement, but that hardly detracted from the rest of the movie. If you don't want to use panasonic sd cards or xbox 360s, then don't buy it. I'm certainly not going to buy a GM truck after this movie.
When watching sports, do you gripe about the right field ad in a baseball stadium, or the rotating billboard infront of the scorers table in a basketball game or all the ads on the boards in an hockey game. In my opinion using real products instead of fake ones, gives the movie a sense of realism.
So what you rather they showed e-Bid instead of ebay or YBox360 instead of an Xbox360?
Transformers is about two things, kick ass robots and crap blowing up all over the place, and in that regard this movie accomplished this in spades. If you want character development, then you missed the point of the movie
Being a hardcore original 1980s transformers fan from back in the day, this movie fulfilled all my expectations. I went with 15 of my friends and we all thought it was best movie of the summer by far. And the rest of the theatre thought so too, in fact after the movie everyone gave the movie a standing ovation.

It's not the fact that they are using real-world brands that bothers me, it's how the products are blatantly highlighted in the movie. And that certainly wasn't the main reason I disliked the movie, but it didn't help (neither did the plot, editing, dialogue, pacing, etc.).
And just about everyone that says they liked this movie are saying they liked it for the action and the special effects (2 things I said were good, although I think the fight choreography could have been a lot better in parts). Some say they like the comedy which is very subjective (I'm not big on pee jokes).
Different strokes for different folks though.

Thanks to CAG I found myself in circuitcity last week picking up The Darkness for $49. Initially I was going to wait for a price break on this game before getting it, but $10 off made it that much more tempting. While I was online I quickly used my motorla Q to narrow down which version to pick up. It was a tough choice because my ps3 is hurting for games but the 360 is the FPS console of choice. Apparently the PS3 version has more ingame video on the tvs scattered throughout the game world. The 360 has rumble, achievements, and xbox LIVE. If there was a graphical difference I would have gone with the ps3 but those being equal the 360 won out because I love the controller and a fps needs rumble. Thanks CAG. Btw that pizza dude in the most remote part of japan is totally on the lamb.
love the long shows.

After listening to shipwreck review I have to take his podcast off my list. The movie wasnt half as bad as he made it out to be, this just goes to show me that he's taste and my taste are not on the same page.
I watched the Transformers as a child and seeing as the damn cartoon wasn't anything mind blowing <As stated by this same podcast> what maked you think that this movie was going to be the 2nd coming? It did it's job IMO, it had enough shine for the A.D.D crowd of this generation and it didn't take a dump on our child memories.
What more can you ask for?

CheapyD and Wombat you guys read the reviews on the cagcast and were said to be an average gamer podcast crew for average gamer. Cheapy seemed to be a little offended at the thought of being an average gamer (has all the glamour gone to that bald head cheapy?!).
However! I think you took it the wrong way. Its pretty obvious the average gamer isnt invited to the new E3 but then again the average gamer doesnt know that cheapassgamer exist(think most people who shop at eb/best buy etc). I dont think even half of CAG members could qualify as the average gamer because the average gamer pays full price for games and doesnt visit message boards for deals/discussions on those games.
So the compliment was ment to be that you are very down to earth with the audience of your podcast. Someone we can relate to as a fellow gamer with similar traits yet respect as the voice of the community(aka you are our rep at E3 lol).
As for transformers, i was surprised at how much shipwreck hated it since consensus of most people i know is they liked it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course. Maybe CAGcast could have a follow up review with linkin to provide the different view of another long time Transformer fan? That is said with no disrespect to shipwreck of course, I havent even seen the movie so i cant agree with either atm. With all the content of E3, next week has the makings of another long show...come on, you know you want to make another :-p
Oh and wombat hope you didnt feel ignored. Sorry you couldnt get the time off for E3 :( Also I'm looking forward to Two Worlds so dont be afraid to talk about that all the time!
edit: OH and almost forgot!

Oh, happy times. No live CAGcast, it felt like being home again. And two hours. Not many people love it but I do!
Wow, I enjoyed the Transformers movie. And I was an enormous fan of the series, also being around you guys' age, so...I encourage everyone to go see it, not cos it's wonderful, but cos you need to see for yourself if it's worthy.
I would also like to see a 3-hour show cobbled together from ALL PAST MENTIONS OF OBLIVION. It might even be longer than that...I'd give it a listen.

I have an M3 DS Simply (equivalent to the R4) for my DS. What I originally got it for was two things: primarily to be able to easily carry all my games with me and have easy and quick access to them (I take the train and bus to work) and secondarily to be able to run homebrew, especially emulators. The big catch is that there is no easy means to rip your own carts, so that means you have to download the roms off of the internet, and there's a slippery slope, of course, as it gets awfully tempting to download some games you don't actually own. I admit I did this, but all along I didn't feel good about it and finally I recently purged my MicroSD card of every rom I didn't actually own. I'm clean now (well, Nintendo and company aren't friends of emus they don't earn money from, but that's an entirely different issue, IMHO.)
Even having said that, there is one remaining issue, albeit a subtle one. It's also very tempting to buy games, but then never open them, and instead download the rom and play that. I have to admit that I have a few games in this state (Warioware Touched is one). I keep meaning to break the seals to make it official, but somehow that never seems to have happened. :)
Nintendo and the others would do well to provide a means to do these things officially, at least being able to load your handheld with games, rather than having to play from cartridge/disc (or directly downloaded). I realize that the DS doesn't have the means to do this since it has no significant internal storage nor a means to add it (actually I suppose they could do it via an add-on slot-2 card that would provide internal storage, or a MicroSD slot.) They could do it for the next gen handheld, certainly. The games would be media that you load onto your handheld via the cart/disc, but then you wouldn't need to carry the cart/disc with you and you could load multiple games onto the handheld and select from them. In other words, just like the PC world. A DS has a lot less value to me if I have to carry 20 cartridges with me. I probably would not even have bought a DS had it not been for the fact that devices such as the M3DSS existed, which allowed me to carry all my games with me in a compact fashion.

Great Show as always. Seems that me and wombat have something in common. Both of our 360's crapped out. with non red lighting problems and they will both be returning friday. Hmmm wonder which one of those 2 will crap out first.
Also the 360 problem of them scratching discs when the console is completely stable and not moving does happen. it occurred to me on about 4 games.
Anyways keep the Great show up its on of my favorites.
The pre-recorded podcasts are so much better than the live shows, it's like a night and day difference. I'm still in disbelief that Cheapy doesn't know the difference between SMB2 and SMB3. Crazy.
Also, the Transformers was incredibly harsh. It sounds like people were expecting it be the next Citizen Kane, or something. Yes, I would have liked the movie a lot more if it stripped all the brand references out of it, but besides that it kept me entertained from beginning to end. I went in with low expectations, but left pleasantly surprised. By the way, the transforming boom box was Frenzy, he used to be one of Soundwave's cassettes, and nowhere near as annoying as Jar-Jar.

Do the people who call Cheapy an Microsoft fanboy have any common sense? Would any human being spend 600 dollars on a console, just so they could hate it? And to add to that, would any human spend 600 dollars on a gift of the same console to give to someone so they could hate it? Get real. Just because he is not enjoying his PS3 experience to the max doesn't mean that he is a Microsoft fanboy. He just is currently enjoying his Xbox360 more than his PS3. That is it.
Anyway, great show guys. Keep up the good work!

If product placement helped make the special effects that much better, then I can live with it. I was a huge fan of the G1 series and thought the movie was amazing. No disrespect towards Ship since everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I would suggest people to watch the movie before forming their own.
In fact, I would love to hear Wombat and Cheapy's impressions after watching it.
Still listening to it, so I'll comment more later.
Great show guys. Love the ending... Oblivion!!

I have also just had a bad experience sending my 360 back, and what Wombat said is true. It took them two full weeks to ship it back. When I called them for an update, the guy said it was because they were replacing certain parts, I think it is the cooling system, in addition to the overwhelming number that are being sent in for repair.

Listening to my new CAGcast durring my lunch break today almost killed me. I had already read the "review" of Transformers in the columbus paper.(Hated it)And several online reviews.(mixed) I thought for sure someone reviewing for you guys would've liked it.
If you remember the cartoon and liked it you will like this movie. The whole ebay thing actually is part of the movie plot, the Ladiesmanxxx shit was funny as hell because thats what ebay is about. Dork=Ladiesman, ugly=hotstufff278 on ebay. And as for product placement, I thinki that was a little inside joke, just like the cartoon. And I've never heard anyone bash 24 for having the only Dell/Apple mixed computer network on the planet. Was this movie 15% a GM commercial? Yes. But it didn't hurt the movie much. The story was good(not great) and I wish the Transformers cast would've been expanded.
I was worried the the Transformers themselves were not going to talk(they didn't in ANY trailer or commercial)
There were things I would change of course, but shipwrecks review was very harsh.
Go see it, remember Shipwreck......Wrecks ships, so go see an early show if your worried about wasting 8 dollars. And then judge for yourself. 7.5 out of 10 I was hoping it wouldn't be a 3-4 but I was very surprised it was a multi-see show.(twice already here)

I've been trying to get No More Heroes onto the Hype Wagon since you started the live podcasts.
It doesn't have 1:1 motion. It has a high, low and medium strike sensing (like Samba De Amigo). The grapple moves, though, are fairly cool as the preview video shows - motion sensing on both controllers.

Yeah, have to disagree with Shipwreck's review of Transformers. The product placement was noticeable, but not enough to ruin the movie. The action scenes were a bit too close, but they were still enjoyable. And the humor in the movie worked more often than not so I'd say go out and see it. Definitely worth a movie theater ticket. Made up for that catastrophe known as Spiderman 3, IMHO.

Dudes,
Go see Transformers. Its not as bad as Shipwreck made it out to be. Yes I agree with the fact that the movie was a big ad, but its still not bad at all.
If I had to say one bad thing about it, it would be the large volume of corny-ass one liners. I mean really. I guess its mandatory movie behavior but really now.

It's not the fact that they are using real-world brands that bothers me, it's how the products are blatantly highlighted in the movie.
What I can't understand is how you can complain about prodcut placement in a $200 million movie that is based upon a cartoon series that LITERALLY was a weekly 30 minute toy commercial!
BTW, have you watched the old TF movie? Sure, the opening 20 minutes were awesome. Then we get 60 minutes following around 2 transformers we've never seen before (need I mention the travesty of Rodimus Prime) as they have stupid adventures like driving circles around "sharktacons". And if the silly dialogue was bad in this one, how about the robot voiced by the micromachine guy in the old movie who just spit out tv slogans non-stop? Why are all the old TF killed off right away? So they can introduce new toys as "characters."

Great podcast as always. I was intrigued by the fact that you can not get an invite to every event you want. Do you think that naming the site Cheap Ass Gamer, while it probably helped grow the site, has now or may become detrimental and keep some people from taking you and the website seriously? Obviously members and people who pay attention realize that the site has gone way beyond just pricing deals to a full blown gaming information resource. Do you regret naming the site Cheap Ass Gamer and wish you had come up with something else now that it has become the beast that it is?
As for Shipwreck's movie review, I respectfully disagree with his overall impression of the movie, but I still value his opinion and consider our tastes similar with having agreed with most of what he has said on the CAG Foreplay in regards to game reviews and previews. Perhaps we just have a difference of opinion on movies but similar gaming tastes. As others have said, don't let his review or any review decide for you. Of course many people might disagree with my taste in movies, I don't usually go for the "outstanding cinematic experience" of many movies that I think try to be more than they are like Children of Men and others. I prefer a cheesy popcorn flick over "art" when I buy my movie tickets. I enjoyed Armageddon, hell I even liked Ghost Rider, because I didn't go in expecting a masterpiece. I expected a mildly humerous diversion from real life, which is exactly what it was.
Oh and Cheapy, after having told us of your Dirty Dancing watching exploits, please refrain from making further Dirty Dancing references, it puts images in my head that I need multiple Bay/Bruckheimer movies to forget.
One little complaint, Cheapy you sometimes need to suck it up and listen while Wombat talks about something you don't like. I guarantee that many of your fans are also football fans and will probably buy more than one football game this fall. I have noticed in the past that if something doesn't keep Cheapy's interest he is quick to try and move on. Maybe that is just the short attention span of a 360 Fanboy. Just kidding, while I agree that Cheapy likes his 360 the most out of his 3 consoles, it has less to do with love of MS than the fact that it has the most games and is currently better than the other 2 systems. And I don't own one, I own the other 2 consoles and consider myself a Sony fan, bordering on fanman. At 33 years old I don't qualify I as a "boy" anything anymore. But I digress, I understand that you have an outline and want to stick to something of a timeframe, but you should leave it open enough that if a topic like that comes up and there is meaningful thoughts from Wombat, you should let him talk.

i gotta agree that i didn't like when Cheapy cut off Wombat when he was talkin about football. it's not whether we like the subject or not, i just found it entertaining how enthusiastic Wombat was about these obscure football players. you know, small talk. if i was annoyed, i could fast forward.

I use mine more as an import tool/ demo station. I recently downloaded the new Zelda game, Phantom Hourglass, just to try it out and see how great it looks. Well it looks really great graphically, but I can't do anything without reading Japanese lol. Obviously any huge Zelda fan (like me) is going to grab this game immediately so I'm using the rom as a demo. Stuff like this is totally fine with me. I first played Puzzle Quest on my M3 and I loved it so much I went on a local witch hunt to try to find it, and i did w00t!!! Anyways the thing can be used for good so people should think about that before bitching about it.

The pizza quest sounded cool. What does make NY pizza "NY pizza"? Some place opened up near me claiming to have "authentic NY pizza" (I live in northern Virginia) and I thought it was pretty craptastic, but I've never had a real NY slice, so I can't compare for how truely NY it is...

I'm sure Wombat will like the additional time off anyway.

Man i have no clue why the fuck people are hatin on Transformers...Im a 30 year old man, and a Transformers fans for most of my life. While the movie was not perfect...it was a blast. People who say it was bad are the same people who just dont know how to have fun. Its like they go to a movie with the "im going to hate it" attitude then of fraking COURSE they are going to hate it. Its like the same thing with people who cant enjoy simply fun games...like Blood Rayne and Bullet Witch. Both those games were mindless fun yet got dogged cuz they were not "deep". Just learn to just live and have fun.:bomb:

In the late 80s, I was much more into PC gaming.
My time was occupied by Sierra "Quest Games", Wayne Gretzky Hockey, Superstar Ice Hockey, and many others. I never owned any of the Super Mario sequels. Of course I played the shit out of the original.
Wow, you must have REALLY been into PC gaming back in the day to miss out on the SMB sequels. This intrigues me because you never talk about PC games during the CAGCast. Do you play any PC games at all now or are you completely jilted? My policy is to play games on the PC only when they're really good and not available for consoles (e.g., Company of Heroes, WoW).

Here is a question regarding the "Nazi" cars: Why do some games allow you to play as Nazis(ie. Call of Duty) but not others(ie. Forza)? If you can play as the Third Reich in multiplayer shooters, why not play as a Nazi race-car? Couldn't you think of it as the "bad guy" car?
The only arguement against this is that WW2 shooters are, in theory, representing history and there are no Nazi racecars in "history." But I think that it is still a double standard. What if it was a classic 1940s era car race game, with vintage cars? Would it then be ok to have Nazi cars?

I think we need an emergency CAGcast right here, right now. Especially when big things happen.

Hey, Wombat, you're the first New Yorker I've ever heard give any props at all to Chicago's pizza. I'm from Chicago but I'm not snobby enough to say New York doesn't have good pizza, too, though Chicago's is better.

i would rather pay 10 bucks at the movie theatre to see the original transformers movie rereleased than watch that disaster of a movie again.
at least that was about the transformers because nobody cares about spike or sam or whatever his name was. the folks who created the transformers cartoon may have set out to make a 20 minute commercial but as you can see they ended up creating something that was far more impactful. the old transformers cartoons may not hold up as well but to any one that doesnt get there impact i guess you had to be there.

Yeah, I was really into PC games then. They offered up new experiences, things that that NES couldn't duplicate.
I don't really play any PC games anymore, but I may get back into it later this year.

Yeah, same here. PC games used to be awesome back in the day, back when point-and-click adventure games ruled. Nowadays it's mostly MMORPGs (which are not terrible, but are just not my thing) and the occasional good RTS.
I'm sure you've seen the other thread, but discussing some of the more interesting exclusive PC titles on the CAGcast would be nice, Starcraft II comes to mind.

Great show as always you two. Going to be interesting to see what's discussed this week with all of the news from/before E3.
I have to 1000% disagree with Shipwreck's opinion on Transformers. As someone who cried over some type of media for the first time at that movie, bought it twice on DVD (regular version and 20th anniversary edition,) and grew up with a collection of the vast majority of Transformers (made sure my Dad knew how much they go for now that he made me sell them when I was in 5th grade) I enjoyed the movie greatly and thought it was the best movie I've seen this summer.
I did not have that much of a problem with the product placement except for maybe the 360 at the end because if any alien race is going to learn about human culture from in space, the WWW would be the first place they would/should probably go. I thought there was good action and the story flowed well. I was in a theatre on July 4 morning that was full with only about 10-20% of it being kids under 16, and it got a standing ovation at the end.
Also about playing certain 360 games on certain nights with CAG members, if you look on the 360 forum, that discussion was already going in a sticky thread when you produced your last show. The schedule has been set now, just check that section for details.

The old 80's and early 90's adventure games were great fun. I only played Sierra games though. My faves were LSL, SQ, and KQ. Only recently I discovered LucasArts and played some Sam & Max, Monkey Island, and Maniac Mansion games. The best one I played was Day of the Tentacle - if you're looking for old-school adventure game fun, this is the game to play.
But the best PC game I somehow missed out on back in the day is now free for download - Star Control 2. This game is absolutely amazing and can be downloaded here (not illegal - the game is now open source):

They call it The Ur-Quan Masters, but it's really Star Control 2. If you can overlook the graphical limitations, you're going to be in for an excellent PC gaming experience.

Shipwrek, that was the worst review ever. Transformers was AWESOME. You are dead to me.
J/K but I really enjoyed Transformers and of course it has some cheesy scenes but what were you expecting out of a summer action film? Best action film I've seen in a few years.
For the record I hated the cartoons growing up so my expectations were kinda low.

Great show, as usual, fellas.
I'm gonna jump on the anti-Shipwreck wagon and disagree with the Transformers review, as well. While I cannot in good conscience say it was a good movie, it was certainly better than I expected it to be. Yes, it was full of corny dialogue and cheesy humor, it felt appropriate since, like someone mentioned earlier, it's a movie based on an 80's cartoon... based on action figures. I guess the product placement doesn't really bother me since I'm more or less desensitized (for lack of a better word) to advertising. I do agree with the sometimes blurry action, but it was pretty good overall, especially the fight between Prime and Bonecrusher.
I'm also gonna jump on the football wagon. I'm probably one of the least athletic persons on earth, but I enjoy watching football. I probably won't know 90% of the All-Pro Football cast, but I certainly don't mind a little pigskin talk in the CAGCast.
I LOLed at the concept of a Holocaust Denial-mobile. :D

I'm the opposite, I've always played LucasArts adventure games, and never played the Sierra games. DOTT is still a great game, it holds up amazingly well to this day.
Thanks for the link, I've never played Star Control... so I'll give it a try later (after all this crazy E3 stuff.)
Sorry for taking this thread off-topic, if you'd like to discuss adventure games here is a thread for it: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142236

Great show, as usual..... but Shipwreck's "Transformers Review" was the worst Transformers review i've heard so far. It got so bad i had to skip it. The guy sounded incredibly harsh! He also sounded like the biggest fanboy ever! That's the part that angered me the most! He made it sound like if the Transformers movie was the worst film ever made in history. Sure the films story was not academy award winning material, but the film was sure f*ing entertaining! Excellent eye popping CGI work, creatively-staged action sequences, and the best eye candy money can buy. I was truly shocked this movie was made under $147 million . Anyways.... personally, the Matrix Trilogy is one of the finest pieces of film made. This film got me more entertained then the Matrix films. It kept me entertained from beginning to end. Everyone should watch this movie. It's worth your money.

While the loss of exclusive titles is bad news for Sony, it's good news for Microsoft. Why wouldn't Major Nelson, a Microsoft employee, point it out? There's nothing "douchey" about it at all.
I am not a Transformers fan, I've never seen the show or the old movie, but I enjoyed the new movie. Shipwreck's review was far more negative than the movie deserves. If you aren't a Transformers fanboy, give it a try, you may like it. I did.
I'm a football fan.

Cheapy - I generally agree with your industry assessments, however you are DEAD WRONG about football fans not listening to the Cagcast. Nothing thrilled me more than hearing Dave Meggett would be making a comeback appearance in a current gen game. I've lost track of how many times I used Meggett to run for a TD during the days of Tecmo Bowl. I realize that not everyone played sports games growing up but unfortunately, you and people like you are in the minority. The sales numbers are proof of that.
