So I've been looking for coasters to use on my new desk and none have really stood out after looking through thousands on the web, ebay, and in stores. I've decided on making my own via Perler Beads which I thought would work well and allow me to theme it according to how I want. Basically what I'm looking for is recommendations on some 8-bit games and any older PC games that were made with the same color scheme as there aren't many colors in the Perler Bead selection.

Here are a few examples (http://www.etsy.com/search_results.php?search_type=tag_title&search_query=nintendo%20coasters) of some Perler Bead Coasters and what not. It's pretty ghetto but I'm too much of a geek to say no and it doesn't look half bad.

So far I'm looking at the basic popular games:
- Mega Man
- Zelda
- Mario
- Metroid
- Pacman
- Final Fantasy
- Sonic

Any game recommendations would be much appreciated and screenshots of the games would be appreciated even more. (An example would be Villians heads at the stage selection screen with a Mega Man as they would make good coasters)

Maybe this will help: http://www.sprites-inc.co.uk/

Boss heads from that site are here: http://www.sprites-inc.co.uk/files/Classic/MM2/Misc/index.php (scroll down)

Also, those Excitebike coasters from your link are sweet.

I totally forgot about sprite sites. That should help me a heck of a lot for finding sprites now. Thanks.

And yeah, the Excitebike ones don't look too bad. Backgrounds are somewhat bland though. There were also other coasters up at one point as I shifted through some of the makers blogs that were kindof cool too.

Seems like a lot of work... but on the other hand, I like your way of thinking. Those are pretty cool. I may have to investigate that option.
