Ive looked around and searched and the general consensus is that there is no such thing as a ps3 vga cable (because of HDCP etc). Is this true? HDMI-> DVI is not an option for now, my monitor cannot take DVI. Wasn't planning on buying a new monitor until this christmas with sales etc and all the HDCP nonsense taken care of, and so I'd have to pass on the $500 deal.

Wow 65 bucks? jesus. How hard was it to do VGA output like the 360 did, no thanks I'll just save the money and put it towards a new monitor.

Note: You can't convert a Digital DVI signal (DVI-D) to an analog VGA signal with this adapter.

I don't know what type of DVI the PS3 cable has... It could have been DVI-I.

nope, as hdmi to dvi is dvi-d since it's still a digital connection... then that link has this

Note: You can't convert a Digital DVI signal (DVI-D) to an analog VGA signal with this adapter. It ships in either blue or black colors.
