You should know this, I'm not normally into FPSes and typically don't buy them. I have made an exception for KZ2 however. With the phenomenal graphics and production values it's extremely hard to say no. I'm more of a single player game person so I'm getting it for the campaign. Even with the minor faults the demo has, the visuals are some of the best I've ever seen in a game period. You know they nailed it when even devout Xbox followers are admitting Sony got this game right. I'm not into the whole fanboy thing so I'll leave it at what I have played impressed me a great deal. Normally I struggle through FPSes, especially on normal or hard difficulties but in this demo it was plenty fair with me and I was able to get through it. I'll admit I was basing my final decision to buy it or cancel my pre-order on how much trouble I'd have getting through the demo. I'll also admit I will be playing on the easiest difficulty. I usually do play games on easy if I can and I'm not ashamed of that. So with that in mind, the campaign should be manageable for me. This plus Star Ocean 4 that weekend is going to get both of my systems a lot of play time.

Finally made a UK account to grab the demo last night. It looks really nice so far. It reminded me that I can't aim for crap with a controller and I yearn for the days of old with QuakeWorld on a PC with a keyboard and mouse. (Where's the support.. our consoles have USB slots?) I was never great, but I was pretty damn good. Maybe I'm just getting old too?

Regardless, console FPS games aren't always my cup of tea, I enjoy a game well done either way. I'm already sold on the hype and can see the quality in place so far. This won't be the be all end all game of the year for me, but I know it will most likely be the best FPS out for a while. Day one buy (Thanks in advance SonyCard Rewards points) for sure.

I didn't know we were replacing the word "slow" with "heavy" these days to make it seem like something was purposefully done in a game. The aiming is slow and turning up the sensitivity fixes it (for some).

I agree with Malik. Although I deleted the demo after one play-through so I cant go back and check again. In the beta I think I had my sensitivity up, but it was still slow(heavy)

I played the demo a couple of time and found the weapons to be a little off or slow like others have stated but I think it will still be one of the better FPS overall in quite awhile. So I am looking forward to picking it up.

Ah.. I meant to knock my own skills, not the game controls.. but I see it's been a hot topic. I don't play enough FPS games to draw precise comparisons on the spot.. I think I would just chalk it up to every game being a little bit different from one to next anyway. I mean.. we're all using the same range of adjustment so we're all on a level playing field with it, right?

Yeah it didnt really have that much of an effect. Just less precision. Plus other guns could handle differently, as I have only used the Assault rifle, Magnum and Shotgun. I would hope that the sniper rifle allows for more precision.

Also I think I read somewhere that GG is releasing the engine for this game to developers at GDC. Thats pretty awesome.

Nope, you just pop your head up by pulling on the LT or blind fire (hard to do with an FPS).

Anyhow, finally got around to playing the demo over the weekend and I was thoroughly impressed. The gameplay is much improved over the original Killzone. I'm excited to see what the multiplayer has to offer. My one complaint is that the controls/aim feels a bit too slow for my liking.

They might have been pulled from Meijer's shelves, When i went to the Aurora one he had a sheet printed out that said Killzone 2 was not to be sold before the 27th at 12:01am. Although it is important to note that it never was in their shelves, it was still in boxes behind the register.

Well, I received my laser yesterday. It turns out it was a white clip which some believe is a high fail rate laser from china. I took my system apart guess what? The factory laser was a white clip. I figured that because mine was a white clip, I might as well try it. The "new" laser read a dvd, bluray movie fine. When I tried a ps3 game, it would still not read; it would spin a few times, stop and try again. After trying different disks for about and hour, I tried cleaning my old one, putting it back in and still did not work.

The process(laser replacement) is not that hard to I can be done with the whole process in about 30-45 mins. I asked the sell for an exchange for a "brown" clip.

I'm getting to the point I'm not sure what to do. Because if I send it to sony who is to say they wont put in a similar laser,Sony only offers a 90 warranty on the repairs so I don't know if I should see if I can fix it myself and then sell the unit and buy a newer model which should have two lasers instead of one. Or just fix it and see what happens over time.

I was just at the St Charles, Illinois Meijer and they had three copies. Just as I was asking the clerk about them some guy grabbed all three and said that he was buying them for his "friends" (ie, people on Ebay who can't bother to wait a week and want to pay an arm and a leg.)

Love the beta so I went on hunting for KZII around my city. I didn't bother looking at Target/GS/EB/BB since they probably won't sell it to me. If you have a independent game store like Gameplay for example, they have like a gang of copies in stock. I canceled my pre-ordered from Amazon due to some BS credit card error. Anyway, I'm about to hop onto the MP server, pretty much want to see where my skills level is at right now.

Gameplay Pasadena and Long Beach have them in stock for $61.XX with tax.
Paramount Swapmeat also have them in stock for $65. My friend kinda bargain with one of the game vendor and he got them to let it go for $60 cash.

Can't say I'm trying to stick up with them (keep in mind I'm not one who plays it), but when you don't put the money into stuff, things don't turn out right (while KZ2 on the other hand, has received a massive budget and support, making much of this possible. Got more support than the first KZ got).

Anyway, let me know sometime how you want to do it. Whether we should make two threads (one for hardcore clan, one for casual clan), or whether you combine it all to one thread (which I'd lead), but there will be a post strictly for your clan and we'll make sure there's discussion about both clans.

The GTA4 line got pretty long (wrapped almost to Rite Aid) as it approached 12. But I'll probably show up about 20 mins before. I doubt KZ2 will pull that kind of crowd.

1. The game is really fun and ran lag free with 32 people in the room.
2. Someone randomly invited me into their squad and that worked well and made the game even better. Spawning with your squad leader makes getting to the action much faster. The squad didn't stay together for the next game, does anyone know if that's intentional?
3. I played 4 of the maps and 3 seemed perfectly sized for 32 players, the desert one with the giant crane in the background is way way way too big. It takes a good 30-45 seconds sprinting to reach the bomb site in search and destroy.

While I used to think large multiplayer matches were a great idea, I don't believe it is anymore. I perfer games that are limited to 8 vs 8 and probably 6 vs 6, anything more and it seems like I'll randomly kill somebody and get randomly killed myself. Hopefully that isn't the case in this.

Ive played a few body count matches and a couple full warzone games. Ive had no lag at all, with a full room. I think i have only played a couple of maps, cant remember which ones though. They all seem pretty decent though. Will give it a good play tonight i hope :)

I redownloaded the demo myself, maxed out turning speeds, went type-2 and for it to not lock on when zoomed in, and i really enjoyed the demo a LOT more. I felt it could definitely use some more aim-assist tho, seemed hard to lock onto to anyone.

Played through Corinth River and a bit of Blood Meridian. Liking the single player quite a big. This is one beautiful game!

Man, I so wish I could play this game. I am having issues with finding a decent seller for ps3 lasers. So I might just attempt to buy a new 80gb system. It should have the newer duel laser setup, smaller 65mm chips to run cooler, less power etc.

I tried the demo and i'm just not feeling it. Granted the AI is smart albeit not as smart as the first FEAR or first Half Life game. Maybe i'm just burned out on FPS.

Love love love the map detail, the controls took a bit to get used to, seems they're very loose on default so its a pain getting the aim down at first. Lots of f'in campers too since theres so much detail and lots of places to hide.

Definitely impressed though. I don't think it will come close to topping COD4 in the MP dept, but its clearly the best exclusive FPS for the PS3 to date.

Are you on about the aiming being loose? :-s

I found it very stiff...had to put the sensitivity up. Most people are doing the same. I think your the first person to say that the controls are stiff. But yeh, it does take some getting used to it.
