SNES randomly resets?

Today my SNES randomly started resetting itself while playing FF3/6.

I jiggled the AC connecter on the back of the system, and it would lose power/reset when I did that (it had to be in a "good" place to work). The actual adapter was stable and did not cause any problems.

What exactly can I do to fix this?

It might be that your AC adapter is dying. Mine recently was doing the reset or turn off randomly bit until I replaced it.

Also the port where your AC plugs into might be cracked. For a long time I would have to wrap the cord around the unit.

If it is not the AC port or adapter you better pray it is not the system. My original SNES lost the power to use Mode 7 and some games music is no longer readable.

So I had to get an entirely new SNES which worked out since I got a SNES that can't work on certain televisions.
