Looking at the Amazon deal, PS3 is looking mighty attractive simply to use for backwards compatibility with PS2.
A few questions:
1) With Katamari and Ace Combat going to 360, what "quirky" exclusives are left for PS3? I know Little Big Planet is one, but what aside from this? I'm not particularly interested in Ratchet, Jak, or MGS.
2) When using the PS3's hard drive as a memory card for PS2 games, do you have unlimited space?

1) anything from the makers of Ico is gold. Uncharted and Haze look sweet. SOCOM and Warhawk are going to be sweet online games.

2) you can make as many memory cards as you want.. unlimited.

Haze will go multiplatform in 2008. I will take a look at Uncharted. SOCOM no interest as I'd rather play the Clancy games and Warhawk - Ace Combat 6 looks better.
Anything really different coming out? PS2 had quirky stuff from Dreamcast and Japanese games like Mister Mosquito. Anything like that exclusive for PS3 or no? Little Big Planet is the only one I can think of.
2) you can make as many memory cards as you want.. unlimited.
But you are limited to 8GB partitions still? I.e. I can't just make a single 256mb memory card on the HD?

I think it's a bit early for the Mister Mosquito type games...
(that game does need a next-gen sequel!)

(that game does need a next-gen sequel!)Yeah, you're not going to see a lot of the obscure games for a while. Part of that is because developers can still push that sort of stuff on the PS2 as its still a viable platform for another year or so - cheaper and large install base make it less risky. Then it depends on how Japanese developers look at the consoles this generation. To be honest (you can hate me all you want), I'm hoping those quirky games go to the Wii so I can hold off on a PS3 for much longer, but I'm seeing at least a split, if not more still going to the PS3... which is why I will probably grab one with one of these deals, just in case.

LocoRoco will probably come to PS3 in some way.
I heard Ape Escape 4 is in development.
There's my Summer Holiday 3 import (since PS3 is region free)
