I am having a frustrating time navigating the playstation store since I wanted to see what ps1 games could be purchased for the psp and can't find a clear answer.
Help?

Yeah, you need a PS3.

For right now yes, but there is a PSP Store where you can download them directly to your PSP in the works. No time frame given thus far but hopefully before the year is over is when we will see it.

Don't forget, like the other systems, they're tied to your hardware. Apparently Sony lets you authorize up to five different systems, but even still, they're not the same as buying a real game...kind of a long rental of sorts.

That said, I want to play Jumping Flash! enough that I might actually buy it. Ironically I'd gladly pay two, maybe three times more for it if they'd have a system where you can deauthorize your hardware so new hardware can be authorized (like with iTunes).

Wikipedia has the answer to everything, scroll down to see the available PS1 games in the Playstation store.

Custom firmware (3.51 M33 just became available) allows you to play any PS1 games that you rip yourself, and pretty much all of those games are easy to find cheap.

It would be really cool if Sony let you rip your own games. Stick DRM on them, that's fine, but let you do it yourself :D

Sony will never let you do it. But as I previously stated, you can already do it anyway.

it's nice that you can do it now with custom firmware, but an official method would be nice for a compatibility point of view...

either way, cf has allowed me to pull my old ps1 games out of the closet for another pass though.... and they look MUCH better on the psp screen rather than any size tv in the house.....

Check out my PSP auction thread. I don't have time for messin' around with homebrew, I'm getting ready for the redesign.

aren't they supposed to make a network store for the psp similar to the ps3?
