For those that have a Sam's Club Membership there are some XBL deals online.

XBL Live Starter Kit- $53.26 (headset, game, one year XBL subscription)

XBL One Year Subscription Card- $29.81 (roughly $2.48 a month for XBL)

XBL Three Month Starter Kit- $29.88

XLB Headset- $22.48

Looks like I will finally be getting online with my Xbox with the one year subscription card at this price for some NFL2K4. Do not think I would use or need a headset but wanted to pass these deals along.

Those are in-store prices, too, not only online. Sam's Club sells most gaming related items at a few dollars off, so you can get new games for something like $43+tax.

I went to my local Sam's club looking for the above items however I only saw games and the system for sale no XBL items.

One year for $30... that's not bad at all. And I'd recommend you get a headset, since there's no other way to communicate, and playing an online game without communication is really just like playing offline.

Gamester is coming out with a controller with a headset built in with a 2 month trial to XBL. I think its a good deal, its like getting a starter kit with a controller for only 5 bucks more.

you really need the headset. I know if people in mechassault don't have one, you'll usually get booted.

Lucky. Sams Club here never has anything except crap $17.xx games and random new release titles (like maybe 3 or 4 for all the systems total) for like $44.98.

Same goes for Splinter Cell: PT. You simply won't win a match without being able to talk and strategize with your teammate.

That thing with getting booted if you dont have a mic is basically for every game. People get pissed that they can't hear you. My dog chewed my headsets, twice. I always get kicked cause the little speaker icon next to my gamertag is gone. So if anyone sees the headset at Sams, get it there so you wouldn't have wasted 60 dollars like me on 2 that are already broken.

I really wish I had a Sam's membership, I'd order another year or two right now.

If it wasn't made clear, this IS available online.

Great find!

Well, I have my PS2 online too and never play it. I'm happy to pay for something if it doesn't suck :)

This is still a great deal too. I don't see how they can do it actually... MS can't be too thrilled.

You get what you pay for, PS2 sucks online by comparision. There are definatly advantages to having a unified online system, not to mention you get craploads of extra downloadable content for free (and meanwhile you can't get any on the PS2). Not to mention it's so friggan cheap anyone can afford this, even if you're a cheapass gamer $30 for a YEAR isn't a bad deal at all. Not to mention most of the people had to pay $40 for the PS2 online adaptor anyway, so either way it's not free.
