Which one? My favs are From Beyond and Re-Animator. But "In the mouth of madness" is all fucked up as well

In the mouth of madness gets points because it's a John Carpenter movie, has that guy from Jurrassic Park in it, and has several ties with Lovecraft's work. Unfortunately, the build-up in the movie is ruined by the contrived ending 30 minutes.

WTH? Only 4 poll options?

You missed a few movies:

The Haunted Palace (Partially based a short story)
Die Monster Die
Dunwich Horror
The Curse
The Unnamable

Truthfully, most of these movies sucked though. Lovecraft was better read than seen on the silver screen.

If I had to vote for one movie though, it would be Re-animator

Has anyone seen "Dagon"? That's a great movie...

Man, yeah - I'd have to stick with the books on this one. Here's hoping that the game turns out well, though.

Not only is From Beyond my fave Lovecrat adaptation, but perhaps my favorite horror movie of all time!! I mean , yes I love Re-animator, but Barbara Crampton gets all slutty and half naked in From Beyond! MEOW!

My thoughts exactly...Thus my vote goes to Re-Animator.

Wow...I forgot about Dagon. I did see it at the video store but I'm wasn't sure if it was worth renting..

Yeah lovercraft is a strange dude. He wrote a story called "The Color of space" where a multicolored meteor crashes into a farm and starts to contaminte all the vegetables making them grow huge and multicolored. Then it affects the water in the well, and the kid drinks the water and mutates. Very strange.

Anyone see Beyond Re-animator yet? I guess it just came out and it has the same dude from the other movies (And from beyond as well). I was wondering if it was any good...

I know I missed a couple but the poll only allows for 4 options. Here are the ones I seen

Re-animator
Bride of Re-Animator
From Beyond
Castle Freak
Necronomicon: Book of the Dead
In the Mouth of Madness

Anyone know if Shadow Over Insmouth was ever turned into a movie? I just finished reading the short story and thought it was pretty good. There is some sort of Japanese Insmouth movie, but I think it's just a follow-up and doesn't have anything to do with the original story.
