If it has one of the following beware:
1. An Xbox360 logo.
2. Teeth
3. Flamingo Legs sticking out
4. If its on fire
5. It can sing classic children songs.

There is more, but the others are a little bit more noticeable.

A 20GB PS3 comes with:

1 SIXAXIS controller
1 ethernet cable
1 AC power cord
1 composite cable
1 User manual and another manual (forgot what its about)
1 USB cable

I hope I remembered everything.

Sony also requires a receipt for any in-warranty repairs.

look out for anything less than 20gb (it should show up as ~18-19gb out of the box), unless he's already downloaded some demos and vids on it

doubt anybody would even replace the 20 with a lower sized drive...i don't even think you can even buy them anymore lol...but hey just in case

From there, you can create a new online name for yourself. You can do that. He'll probably turn auto sign-on off, so you can't log in with his password.

The HDD should say 18GB at the get go.

I think you have to buy one in store, since I believe you need a receipt for proof.

I would seriously consider spending the extra $150 and get the 60GB. At Circuit City, they have a $40 coupon floating around, you get an extra controller, the piece of mind of havig NEW incase you have warranty issues, 5 FREE Blu-Ray movies, you can finance for 24 months if needed, no ones grubby hands touched it (you would have to sterilze the controller IMO....who knows if the guy jerked off or something then touched the controller), WiFi, Memory Card slots, larger HDD.

NEW is better here...spend the cash.

I would ask the seller when the receipt is dated. If the warranty is up soon, it's not worth it to save $150 now and pay more later to have it fixed.

I was lucky to get my 60GB PS3 on Craigs List last month for $450. I was even more lucky that the seller had the receipt (which makes the warranty good until 12/07).

So I have to agree with doubledown on this one. Buying new would definitely be a better choice.

I'm thinking of picking one up, if I get the 24 month payment plan, will there be an interest rate? And if I get extra cash could I pay it off in a lump sum at any time? Thanks =)

the 40 off 200 clearly EXCLUDES gaming consoles.

My mistake on the coupon....I thouht people have been using it with success (possibly a different coupon).

Also, if you finance with CC, they generally give you 0% for 12/24 months (depending on the promotion). Also, you can pay off whenever you want.

It has a year warranty, so the soonest it would be up is in November if it happens to be a launch console somehow.

PS3's aren't really having hardware issues that I've heard of, so buying used should be fine as long as it was treated well.

If they release 'Carlos and the Giant Coloring Book' on PS3, you would claim its the best thing ever. You are the biggest Sony troll here dude. You would totally cry if Sony went away. You would drive walk to your local news station to hold a press conference!

For 1 of the the 5 games listed? No, not the near future for the majority of them.

If a game is great on the 360 and it is then ported to the PS3, what makes it any less exceptional? Does it make the game worse on the 360?

Your logic, well, isn't logical at all.

Your logic, well, isn't logical at all.IMO, the majority of multi-platform games (even last gen) barely make much difference on one platform over another (mostly its just fanboys trying to argue which version is superior). One version may have slightly longer loading times (like 1-2 seconds), slightly jagged, maybe a tad bit of slowdown in an area (that doesn't hurt the game), sometimes a little darker than the other graphically, and so on. For the most part, it barely matters which version of games you get. IMO, just a matter of your preferred console (Only times a multi-platform game is superior over another if there's a HUGE downgrade, like going from 360 to PS2, but other way around doesn't make a big difference). Yes, I prefer PlayStation because my PlayStation platforms have been reliable, my main console of support, and I love the controller; therefore, I buy most of my multi-platform games on PS3 (also, if I had a choice who I want to get the royalty off my game, it would be Sony). GizmoGC just sees it as if thre is a good game that's 360/PS3, it's only on 360 in his eyes because that's his preference. For me, despite buying the PS3 version most of the time, I cancel out all multi-platform games (PS2/360 and PS3/360 ones), and compare the two consoles that way.

Anyway, there are definitely some good PS2 games. Right now, many of its good games are racers and FPS, but later on, we'll be seeing more good action games and other genres. The JRPG genre is weak on PS3 now, but they take time to develop and I'm expecting them in 2008 (like White Night Story, maybe FFXIII, etc.).

For one, when a game is made for a specific platform, its, well, made for that platform. When ported over it may lose features and whatnot. I won't get into the semantics of it.

But as a good port, it is a good game.

Just out of curiosity and because I don't know, what are the great Xbox 360 games (not just exclusives) that are out and coming out?
