Hi everyone-
I'd like to take advantage of the PS3's digital audio output for as cheap as possible. Has anyone out there found a "cheap" way to do this?
The cheapest I seem to be able to find is a Sony sorround sound system that'll take the optical output, but that is still around $200. I'm not a huge audiophile and don't want to throw down that kind of cash (on top of the $500 for the console).

Thanks for your help!

If you end up spending less than <200 on the setup, chances are the speakers/receiver are going to be so lousy that you can't even appreciate DD (no PCM over optical). Since you say you're not an audiophile, you'll probably be quite happy with something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-X-530-5-1-Speaker-System/dp/B0002WPSCG/

In order to realize the power of the PS3, you're going to have to commit more than $200.

Dell has the Logitech z-5500 5.1 System for $260 + shipping.

It's a pretty good set for gaming.
