View Full Version : Why aren't Wii getting NCAA Football ?

I figured last year was a fluke. Seeing that the college football season was almost over by the time the Wii launched, I could understand why we didn't get '07 on the new Wii. But this year, completely ignoring the Wii is simply inexcusable. Wii Madden was okay, but I'm not paying $50 for another copy of the same old, same old again. We need some good college ball action !

Who' s with me ?!!!

I'd show my full and immediate support of whatever your cause is if it weren't for the fact that you used a terrible pun. ;)

Moms and 12 year olds don't go to college.

Seriously though, Madden is the priority right now and a straight port of NCAA from the PS2 wouldn't fly on the Wii. It'll be there next year.

The funny thing is that they released it for the original XBox.

I played the demo on the 360 and this is not a big deal. The Wii has enough 1/2-assed games in its library as-is. We don't need another one.

While I agree that the Wii has enough half assed games, I thought the general consensus about 08 was that it was good (for the 360 version at least)? I haven't played it myself though.

Anyway, as someone already said, the market for college football games just isn't in demand on the Wii.

I dunno, it just seemed clunky to me. I played 07 (or maybe I was cheap and went 06) on the PS2 a bit last year and it seemed to run better than the demo for 08 does. But, of course, I've been known to be wrong/crazy/stupid before, so...

I was miffed at this too as I hate Madden (both the game and I don't follow the NFL much) but enjoy the NCAA games and love college football. Oh well, plan on getting a 360 whenever the price drops so I can just pick it up there. HD graphics are a huge plus in sports sims anyway, more so than waggle controls.

I'm not buying into the HD next-gen until they get all their kinks worked out and their shit together. And I don't care that much about the graphics or pro ball.

I'm a college football fan and I want to waggle with my favorite teams on Saturdays before and/or after the games. Screw you EA, for screwing me over again!

It all hinges on the EA Sports brand. If Madden and Tiger sell better this year than last, and NBA Live and Fifa sell better than they did on the gamecube, then NHL and College Sports will come.

I wouldn't worry too much. These games should sell better than they ever have on a Nintendo console.

Why?

Online integration, and the new family play controls. I am really stoked about online, and considered buying my first ever Madden. The family controls are a plus for me, as I have ppl in my house that won't play complicated games, and this will make it easier for them.

I know that I am not the only one because I have an online players guild with over 100 members, and most of the ppl there, though non sport gamers, are really interested in picking up some of these titles.
