Later this year I will begin taking network security classes and so I have been trying to learn the basics on my own. Well one of the main things I need to learn is how operate Unix Shells, now I can find them all over the internet but I plan on running all sorts of tools such as Port Surfing, Trace routing and all sorts of other things that most Shells block suspecting that you are a hacker. So does anyone know of a free or cheap Unix Shell that would allow me to do whatever the hell I want with it?

It is alright if it is an ISP offering it as long as it is cheap.

If you're just trying to learn the ropes, why not install *nix on your local machine? You can get FreeBSD or Linux for free, and even install them into VMWare or VirtualPC for free. You could also go the Cygwin route if you'd prefer not run vm's or dual-boot.

Well I already have Linux installed in VirtualPC and I use it but I can't connect to the internet with it so I want to find a Unix shell for those purposes.
