Not as good a deal, but for those who missed out. Maybe or just wait for another good deal to come by. I am sure they will give a free controller again at some point.

The 5 movie deal is only good until the 31st.
According to Sony they have stopped manufacturing on this unit and the next model will be back up to $599.00.
My sympathies to anyone that paid the prior retail price for this (or more) or waited over two hours in line to buy one.

Tax is the killer here. I live in a 5% state, so that would bump this up $23 on tax alone.

the 10% becomes less than 2% when factoring nyc taxes... still a good deal though... Amazon is taking forever to ship the PS3, wtf!

I took went ahead and took the plunge.
After tax and shipping this deal is just a few dollars shy of being just as good as the CC deal with the free SIXAXIS. Instead of getting a free controller, you're getting 50 bucks off, the shipping kills it a little but you also have to consider you're only paying tax for 450, and not 500 dollars. Only problem now is I have to wait for this thing to arrive!

Freakin' Michigan tax killed this deal for me. At least for right now. If I have to work some (mandatory) overtime on the job for the next couple weekends, i'll bite. Otherwise i'll just wait for Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII to approach the bargain bin.

at target.com they say that ps3 is OOS now, but they are available at my local store. does anyone know if target offers in store pick up, that way you save on shipping?
