picture pack? Lame io, lame [-( ;)

Hey, I had to buy one of the Lego Star Wars ones - it was only 80 points ;). I've more than made up for it with all the free points I got from Smarterchild (and now a few from the Tropicana thing).

What's the Tropicana thing and can it still be done?

EDIT: I just found out what that Tropicana thing is. I signed up and right off the bat, I won 100 MS Points. Played again 3 more times and got only 48 hour codes :( Guess I was only lucky the first time.

Going to stay up tonight and wait and see if the deal is online too. If it is, then I'll place an order for 4 cards for in-store pickup.

I think those MS points cards are going to be very hard to come across this week Sunday. I haven't seen a CC with more than 3 in stock at any one time, and this deal is plastered all over the internet now, so that many people going after 3 to 4 cards per store makes the odds against you.

These would be great to trade with other CAGs since there is no shipping required. If anyone wants to trade some for stuff on my trade list, PM me.

Don't price matches only work if the item is actually in stock? The nearest CC is out of stock :(

EDIT: I'm an idiot. They mean in-stock as in the store you're actually purchasing from has the goods in stock...

Do most stores accept scans? We didn't get the ad in our circular.

Sorry about all of these questions. I never had to use price matching before. I'm starting to sound like a CAG newbie...

Lots of times with PMing they are supposed to check the competitors stock.(call them) So if they call the CCs nearby and they are out of stock. Then it won't work.

Lots of times they will only PM prices. Read up on Wal-Marts PM policies and see what it says.

But it's iffy that you'll be able to get Wal-Mart to PM. If you do cool. If not ohhh well.

Here is a link to a great thread at SD(Slick Deals) all about WalMart and price matching.

Yea, they had alot in stock around me up until today. All of a sudden they are showing as sold out and not available everywhere. I might have to run out and see if I can find any today and price match/return & rebuy them tomorrow.

and making fun of CC's impeccably awful customer service. it's like the managers tell the employees to avoid working the registers...because at every CC I've been to, it's been a hassle getting someone to check out (while like 10 employees are sitting there chatting at the cell phone booth)

I have the ad in front of me, and it clearly shows the 1600 point card, the 12-month XBL sub card and the wired headset underneath the "Save $20 with the purchase of any 2 Xbox Live accessories $19.99 and up".

Should be a non-issue for a PM after the fact. Having the printout of the website that shows they're accessories should make it even more of a slam-dunk.

Tomorrow's newspaper or pick one up at a Circuit City store

It wasn't in my newspaper today, that's the problem. I get the ads on Saturday.

And Circuit City is 20+ minutes away. Now I think about it, there is a Best Buy across the street from CC up there... :applause:

I love when I go in and no registers are open - only customer service. And the one person there is on the phone for 20 minutes dealing with a manufacturer issue/credit card application/who the hell knows what else with the same customer and not making any progress. And during that time, 5 or 6 CC employees trot back and forth between the back (behind CS) and the floor, trying very hard not to make eye contact with the line of people waiting at the CS desk . Bonus points if said customer is making a scene about how they won't take back whatever it is they are trying to return after 2 months/with no receipt/etc.

Anyway, not looking forward too much to getting this done tomorrow, but I want to get it done ASAP. Otherwise I'd wait til Mon or Tues evening when it is usually pretty calm in there and you can walk right up to the CS desk.

I was told by CC management they won't honor this price unless It's already discounted online or you buy it in person. So I foresee alot of returns.

Also how would I price match this at other stores? It's a buy one get $19.99 off deal, you think they will honor it?

That's what management told me, that if u buy the item online and have it for store pickup they won't adjust the price for the following day. I'm not sure how returning these would work as pay per scan cards are non-refundable even at Wal-Marts, but considering these would be sealed and you would return them right there? Who knows. They would probably tell you no if you tried to get the refund then proceed to re-buy them for the $19.99 off.

I've never tried a % off or $ off pricematch at Best Buy but this is a no go at Wal-Mart usually.

PM Policy:
Price Protection & Unbeatable Price Guarantee

If within 30 days from the date of our offer, you show us a lower, currently advertised price from another local store with the same item in stock, we will gladly refund 110% of the difference between our price and theirs.

Circuit City's Unbeatable Price Guarantee does not apply to services, nor does it apply to special offers or promotions, including rebates, mail-in offers, free-with-purchase offers, limited quantity offers, bundled promotions and special financing. Circuit City's Unbeatable Price Guarantee does not apply to products and services offered by third parties operating in Circuit City's stores. The "get $20 off" deal isn't:
* A service
* A rebate
* A mail-in offer
* A free-with-purchase offer
* A limited quantity offer
* A special financing offer

However, if they want to wuss out of it, they could claim that it is:
* A bundled promotion
* A special offer
They could claim that the two items are a bundle promotion, or that it's a special offer. As I'm buying the cards from them and it's their pricing, they should shut the fuck up and do the PM against their own pricing.

FAQ's about the PM policy that I think are relavent to this:
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Circuit City's On-Line Price Protection Policy?
A: Many purchases on our website are available for in-store pickup. If you select our In-Store Pickup option, you will automatically get the lowest price we're currently offering on the item(s) you purchased. If the in-store price on the day of pickup is lower than the price you saw on our website the day of your purchase, then you get the store price. We'll automatically refund the difference based on your original payment method.

Q: When calculating your own price do you take into account mail-in rebates, "free with offers" or other promotional offers?
A: Yes, when calculating our own price, we will take into account all forms of savings available on the item, including mail-in rebates and other forms of deferred savings.

Q: Will Circuit City match its own prices?
A: Yes, if you purchase an item from us (in-store or on circuitcity.com) and we advertise the same item at a lower price within thirty days of your purchase, we will refund you 100% of the price difference. Bring the advertisement and your original sales receipt to your local Circuit City for the refund.

Q: Does Circuit City match the prices of Internet retailers?
A: Because many Internet retailers are not authorized sellers, we will only match the prices of our own website (circuitcity.com).

I've found that buying the item at full price and then going over to the CS counter works wonders for getting the PM to go through.

Well when I saw the local stores selling out online I ran out quickly and was lucky enough to find 4 cards at a store about 1/2 hour away. I picked them up and will be at the closest CC tomorrow AM with a copy of the ad, printout of their online PM policy and the FAQ's that Shrike posted printed from the website as well. If they wont honor a PM then I will try the return and rebuy.

Hopefully this will go off without a hitch, but what does everyone think about making a scene/appealing to some higher power there? I'm not saying a temper tantrum in-store per se ;), but I've usually had some luck with this type of tactic. i.e. asking to speak to the district manager or someone higher than the store manager on duty or mentioning that I would get in touch with someone at a higher level and say that store #xyz is not honoring their PM policies that are posted on their websites.

Anyone know? There are two types of cards, ones that are the bubble-pack sealed ones you see at CC & BB, and the register-hanger version you see at places like WM, which are backed by FastCard.

The bubble-pack versions are sealed in their little plastic cocoon, and unless you break it open, there's no way to get to the card inside. The FastCard versions are open to the populace and you can scrape off the silver crap to get to the barcode or remove the flap to get to the code, though they're useless unless activated at the register.

If you haven't opened the plastic, they're new and sealed, which means they're returnable. There are two types of cards, and I think Monsta Mack isn't understanding that.

Thanks Shrike. I do understand that these are packed and not the pay as you go phone card types, so I can't see why they wouldn't refund them. I was more worried about the fact they wouldn't refund them then let me rebuy them at their sales price. I've seen managers be dicks about this before, especially at Best Buy.So I'm alittle weary, but I'm not wasting much gas since both stores are within 20 mile drives both way, which is about $3 in cost of gas.

I'm still showing instock at my two local stores that are within 10 minutes of eac hother. I'm going to go to the stores tomorrow, and if not hopefully order online when I get home if I have no luck, as I'm sure many others will to.

There should be zero issue about returning them, assuming they're not opened. On doing the PM, again, there should be zero issue, because it's their prices that they're matching, and it's covered under their PM policy. If they try to weasel out, then I have no qualms about returning all the cards to one store and spike up their return numbers for the day.

I have four cards in my possession, four cards waiting pickup at the CC closest to me, and four other ones sort of on the way home from work, which I'll pick up on Monday. If my local CC refuses the PM or the return/rebuy, I'll return all my cards to them.

This should be painless and easy. I'm making sure that I have every single possible BS reason countered. The manager you spoke to is pulling fiction out of his ass. He doesn't know what he's doing.

Most certainly. It's already past closing time here so I waited too far. I'm just going to get there before the store opens tomorrow, rush to the live points and bring them to the service desk/only cashier there. Alright... good thing I can't sleep tonight. It'd be nice to pick up two of these to catch up on some of the cool XBLA titles I've been missing.

So what's the plan? Can I just order them online to get the deal? Or do I need to order online with in-store pickup? Clearly the former is ideal. I hate going into stores like that.

TomoyoN
07-29-2007, 05:55 AM
Well if you can do it online most people will HAVE to do it with S/H because alot of people have been saying that their local stores are out of stock. But for me in-store pickup is better so they dont have to charge me the $3.99 for S/H because they charge tax no matter what anyways... Guess it's just based on the individuals location...

I'm guessing they are freezing this out. It works with the 4000 point cards (but the savings there are minimal) and it works with the headset (so the $19.99 price point isn't an issue). I'm guessing you'll be able to get it through in the store with a manager override considering how the ad is layed out but I'm guessing they realized a mistake they made. It's possible there could be flyers in the store saying something.

CC is deliberately cock-blocking the online users. Whether it's because their online inventory management sucks, or because they want to guarantee walk-ins, I don't know and I don't care. It still sucks ass.

Edit: the 4000 point cards work, but $80 for 8000 points does not seem like a better deal than 6400 points for $40, does it? Fuck why didn't they just exclude the 1600 point cards if they were going to dick around like this?

Unless it's the "ad editor" error, which he meant to put the 4000 points card in the ad but used the 1600 points instead (and we see that all the time).

Hopefully it's the former and not the later.

As you said, gunm,
$80 for 2x 4000 point cards = 8000 points
$40 for 4x 1600 point cards = 6400 points

But if you can somehow get 8 1600 cards, then you could get 12800 points for $80, so it is a better deal with the 1600 cards.

Yeah, but they can always put up corrections in the store window. If nothing else, it's best to get down there quickly for any purchases/PMs (I won't be able to go till the afternoon probably) in case a memo starts going around . It might be more likely to get this PM'd somewhere else in the short term (maybe I'll try Best Buy).

Though, as you say, the text of the ad helps - it's not like it says $29.99 and up and there was a mistake in putting the picture of the 1600 point card on there - the text and picture match, so they'll have a tough time refusing unless corporate decides it is worth doing and dealing with all the irate customers ;). But I could see them gimping the online sales and making any sales in stores dependent on manual overrides so that they cut their losses. That wouldn't surprise me one bit.

BB doesn't do that kind of PM, do they? I thought it was price only, not promo.

Edit: well, this is what the policy says:

How do you handle a price match if the competitor's price includes a rebate, gift card or other promotional offer?
The competitor's net purchase price is calculated by deducting instant discounts taken at the register such as instant rebates. Mail-in rebates and other deferred savings are not deducted from the competitor's purchase price.

I'd assume this deal is the same as an instant rebate, so technically, BB should do it. Of course, dealing with those shmucks in reality is a different matter...

On another forum someone called up 1-800 # and they were told that the 1600 point cards were NOT part of the promo... I imagine it would be YMMV. Weren't people able to PM the TRU B2G1 free on DS games there? I haven't PM'd anything at Best Buy in ages, so I really don't know for sure. When you initially check for in-store pickup, it's looking to see if they have it in stock. When you update your quantity to 4, it checks for that, and they don't have that many. Try dropping it down to 2 and see if it'll let you.

I did that for two locations near here. I would've purchased more online, but obviously that's not working.

I almost got a boatload of cards PM'd at WalMart. The lady was going to let me get 14 of them, and started doing the price override. When she got to 6, it wouldn't let her do anymore without a manager override, and he said that they wouldn't match an offer, as it is a "gimmick ad." The girl at the counter mentioned during the time we were waiting for the manager that she should've just rung them up 4 at a time, and avoided the issue. Oh well.

Wal-Mart doesn't honor percentage off/$ off normally so yeah you would have been lucky.

I don't feel like driving 30 miles to get denied (either because of low stock on this item or management not honoring the ad) so I called the 800 number. The person on the phone said that I would have to pay full price now and then they will price adjust in 3 to 5 days and credit my card the difference. Sounds a little fishy, but since these cards are sealed, I should be able to just return them should they not be adjusted. Anybody else hear this?

Not super useful to anyone, I'm sure, but I'm out at the Kildeer IL store almost an hour before opening and there's nobody here waiting. I sort of expected there to be someone else.

It said online that they have at least 5, since that's all they'd let me order. I passed on that and will just try to get the deal in-store. There's a Best Buy down the street so I'll head there for a potential PM right after this.

I just called CC's 800 number to ask whether the deal is good on online purchases or in-store only, and their music/video/games line is basically shut down. The recording says that due to unusually high call volume, they're unable to take phone orders, and then it referred me to the web site and hung up.

None of my local stores have the cards in stock.

Good lord this seems to have turned into quite the ordeal.

Has anyone tried taking the ad to a Wal-Mart and just cutting through the bullshit that way? I'm tempted to go out and buy a Sunday paper for the first time in 6 months just to avoid the drive/headache of Circuity City.

EDIT - I know the packaging is different but back when CC had Starcraft for 7.99, it was the big box version in the ad. I took it to Wal-Mart and managed to PM it without any problems for the smaller, fatter box they carry.

I just got my 2 that I bought yesterday adjusted. At first they told me they were on sale for $19.99. I explained that $19.99 was the regular price, but the 3 people behind the customer service desk didn't believe it. I went back to get the shelf tag and when I came back there were 3 black shirt managers? hovering around the register. Thankfully one of them knew that $19.99 was the regular price, so he told the cashier to adjust each one to $10.

My local store didn't have any in stock (they said that some online promotion w/ free points cards w/ purchase of system cleaned them out) but the CSR at the customer service desk offered to special order two of them for me, shipped free to my house or pickup in store. Without saying a word he dropped them down to $9.89 each, charged my card, and I'll have them in 3 to 9 business days shipped free.

Big time score for me.

Bought 4 yesterday to PM. Came in this morning, and saw two 1600 points cards still sitting on the peg. So I grab them first, and see if they'll ring it up with the discount.
Apparently those cards weren't showing in stock, which is probably why they survived until this morning.
Manager put them in stock, then manually overrode the price after showing him the add.
Then I came back in for the PM on the 4 I bought yesterday. The cashier managed to make a mess of the transaction, but at the end of the day, 6 1600 point cards for $60 total! :D

Big YMMV on this one, obviously.

He kept changing his story every time I called him out. First he said the $19.99 was the price after the discount was applied but I proved him wrong. Then he said you had to buy all 3 accessories on the ad to get the $20 discount and I shot him down by showing him it states you needed to buy "any 2 Xbox Live accessories." This deal was a slam dunk for me this morning. :bouncy: Got to CC right as it opened. They had 3 1600 pt cards, so I grabbed 2 and right as I was heading up to the checkout a CSR came by on the phone looking for the cards. She told the guy on the phone they only had one left. So I went ot the counter and the rep scanned the cards and adjusted the prices without me even mentioning it. So I told him I purchased some the other day and wanted to PM and he asked for the recepits and credited me, no questions asked. ;)

Actually my store also had display ads in the aisles and on the end caps that had the deal outlined there, complete with photos of the 1600 point cards and other XBL accessories.

Based on my experience I dont see how they cannot honor this deal. Show them the ad and ask to see the manager if they dont. Tell them you will call corporate and say that store #xyz is not honoring their ad or their policy on price matching.

Thanks to Speedy for scooping the ad and everyone else for the info on the PM policy.

My circuit city showed like 5 in stock, so when I arrived there was one on the peg. I was the first one in the store. Asked a clerk who at least looked like he was looking for 10 minutes to find the other ones. Finally he came back and said they were sold out, so someone probably ordered 2 online.

Anyway I went ahead and bought the vision cam for 40 dollars and the 1600 card for 20, it didnt ring up right but I showed them the add and they price adjusted it. So not a bad deal for 40 dollars.

Come to think about it, i left 2 of these in my online shopping cart for in store pick up and didnt checkout. When I just tried to check out it said an error occurred. So refreshed and it is letting me go through. I may be tempted to run back down and see if I can get these 2, I think they have a guarantee if it isnt ready in 20 minutes.

No 1600 point cards at my local CC. Got there at opening and they were totally OOS despite the website's claim. I imagine some weasel employee got to them first.

Was going to try and PM at Best Buy, but instead of drive around for 30 minutes waiting for BB to open, and then be beating down the door like some FatWallet mouthbreather, I decided to come home and read about CAG's luck with PMing.

I'm kind of betting PMing won't work period, because the deal really is too good to be true. Two 4000 point cards for $80 is 20% off, which is certainly reasonable, but 100% off the 1600 point cards is just too ludicrous to allow unless you absolutely have to (ie, if you're Circuit City with this big glaring HI2U EXPLOIT ad).

I see they're sold out online already despite the online offer not working. The 1-800 people must have demanded an OOS to shut people up. Or to keep inventory stable.

Anyway. When does CC restock their stores? I'm sort of hoping another shipment of cards comes in at some point this week and I can cash in then. That or I'm just going to buy two 4000 point cards, 20% off is better than full price over Live.

Oh Jeez, I knew this deal would bite me in the ass. Got to CC for 10am, I had 4 1600 point cards ordered for in-store pickup, so I decide I'll buy 4 more cards and then pick up my order.

So I grab the 4 cards, there's maybe 12 on the aisle all together, go up to the CSR, as usual the deal is not in the system, so after some messing about she pennies out 2 of the cards and I end up paying $36 for the 4. I don't know how it ended up at $36, for some reason the cards I got charged for ended up costing $17.99.

So then I go up to customer services to get my instore-pickup order. They take ages getting the 4 cards and end up trying to give me 4x12 month Live Gold subscription cards, I spot the error but at this point have signed the little bit of paper (this may be crucial) to say I've got them.

I'm now told the 1600 point cards have run out (there was a couple of other people buying them) and that I'll have to get them when the next shipment comes in. But I'm assured that as I've got the bit of paper to say I was in to pick them up today they'll honour the sunday add deal and I'll get a $24 CC gift card cos my merchandise wasn't here when I came to get it.

So either I'll get the 4 cards for $40 and a $24 CC giftcard, or (and this is what I'm afraid of) they'll try and make out that cos I signed that bit of paper that I've already got the order.

And if that's the case, begun the CC wars have :bomb:

I went when they opened at got 4 off the shelve (of about 15 total). The register rung them all up as full price, then after I showed the girl the ad, it gave me a $2 discount each (yay) for some reason. The girl had to manually adjust them all, leaving me with (from my receipt):
1600 Points - $9
1600 Points - $9
1600 Points - $11.70
1600 Points - $9.90
Bonus discount - -$4.40

I ended up paying ~40 cents less than I should have.

My story:

Went to the store in Deptford, NJ and was there 9:45am. Store opens at 10 and of course they are out of point cards.

I grabbed a manager who instructed a cashier to do a "special order" for my 4 cards. The cashier had no clue so the manager ended up doing the transaction and had to manually adjust my order to be $9.99 per 1600 point card.

I paid in full the $40 for 4 cards. I don't know when they are going to come in but atleast I have a receipt for them.

As I was leaving several other people were trying to find the point cards. One person said "my husband called from Iraq and told me to come here for this deal"

I would recommend that if you get to the store and they have run out of cards just get the cashier to special order them. This could save time running around and getting a pricematch.

There were only three 1600 pt cards at the closest CC; according to the cashier someone had ordered “a lot” online for in-store pickup. The cards didn’t ring up with the advertised price but after I showed them the ad they price adjusted without any argument.

After that I headed right down the road to BB w/CC ad in hand and PMed the deal with no problem. It actually took less time to PM at BB then it took for them to make the proper price adjustment at CC.

Well, I just got back from a CC and was denied, and I'm pissed.

Got there right as they were rolling up the burglar bars, and walked right to the points section, where there were none to be found. Since it said they had them online, I asked someone to look, and after walking around we found 4 in the customer service area. Told 'em I wanted all 4, and the guy rings 'em up at 17.99 a piece. Since they had the ad right there on the counter I pointed it out, and they guy said to hold on and walks off.

After a few minutes, he brings back a guy in a white shirt who says he's not going to honor the ad because it's not part of the deal, they're just advertising it there as an unrelated item. He then says it's not an accessory. Which I point out is wrong because I watched the first guy look it up, and it's listed as "gaming accessories" in their system. After some feet shuffling, the guy says he flat out won't honor the ad. I ask to speak with the store manager, and he says he's not here yet and won't be until noon.

I'm going back at noon to get my angry customer on. :bomb:

At 20 minutes until 10, I noticed that my local CC opens at 10 instead of noon. OOPS! I hurriedly threw on clothes, took the dogs out and made it to CC at about 3 minutes to opening.

I wasn't optimistic that they'd have any 1600 point cards left, but there were 4. So now I had a dilemma - get 2, or be greedy and get all 4? You guessed it - I went for the greed.

I took the points and the ad to the checkout (which was at the customer service desk), and of course they didn't ring up correctly. But I showed the very nice lady the ad, and she explained that sometimes things don't go too smoothly right after a new weekly ad comes out.

After about 10 minutes of trial and error, they price-overrode all four of them at 9.99 each. W00t!

I felt a little bit bad that the guy at the register next to me was special-ordering two cards because I'd bought all of them. :cold:

But not THAT bad.

The reason they are coming up at $17.99 is because somebody screwed up and instead of having the $20 off deal in the computers on the 1600 points card, there is a 10% off any type of Xbox 360 Live accessory sale that automatically rings up in the system. It's bizarre, but whoever is in charge of putting these updates into their computers is terrible.

I got everything adjusted correctly pretty easily so that I got the proper deal though.

Just got back from the Anniston, AL store. Picked up the last four they had on the pegs. Got to the register, cashier rang them up: final price something like $77. Mentioned the ad...got the guy in charge over. He rang them up saying "they look like they're getting 10% off". He then looked over the ad and told the cashier to ring them up at 19.99 and take 10 bucks off each of them. I'm very happy it worked well for me and wish luck to anyone else trying to make it work.

I have to agree with some earlier sentiments: I'd try Wal-Mart to price match the deal, in fact, I might do that later on today.

But it looks to me like CC dropped the price to 17.99 so that they wouldn't be falling under the $20 off deal, hoping their managers and associates would be able to say: "well, these accessories are $17.99 so they don't work with the deal".

This is a very tricky situation for everyone.

Again, good luck everyone.

I think Wal-Mart wouldn't have a problem pm'ing but I don't really feel like waiting in line with other people who need things returned, buy money orders, or whatever..

CC's the way to go?

I was happy to see five point cards while marching to the 360 section. I brought four of them up to checkout and ofcourse it wasn't in the system. They were coming up as $2 dollars off but after about 20 mins everything was sorted out and I got the price as advertised.

Sucks though, as I really wanted six. So i will try to PM at walmart of bestbuy.

ahh i see, it would be funny if these employees and managers got demoted because of slowing sales on purposefully discounted merchandise haha

Hmm... perhaps they're ringing them up at $17.99 (it did it for me too) since the ad is for $19.99+ products only?

Well, in my case, they rang up at 19.99, with a $2 discount applied for each card. You're right, though. That may be their end run for this deal.

I've been to two Circuit City stores this Sunday AM and it looks like they removed the 1600 point cards off the peg board displays entirely. Pretty weak to advertise and then pull stock. :-(

It seems like i am the only one that hasnt had any problems. My cashier knew exactly what he was doing. He had that look of wtf? why isnt this working. I didnt say a word and he went about his buissness and fixed it. He gave me $26 off rather than $20

Wow, they were al in-stock this morning...checked again, and gone. I will probably try to PM with Best Buy sometime this week. I HATE CC with a passion, they have tried to screw me so man times, I just hate the way they run their company. They never honor their PM policy, shoddy customer service...

Do Circuit Citys have the flyers in-store? My Sunday paper came without one of their ads (which is strange, because they usually do). If it doesn't work out, I want to just take one down to BB and PM it.

I'm not so sure that CC changed the price to $17.99 to screw us. I had a very nice CSR girl check me out, and she tried to get the deal working for me.

The manager kept telling her different reasons why it won't work, and she actually didn't believe him and rang it all up to test (no one was in the store hardly).

Anyways, she rang up every Live accessory, and all of them had 10% taken off.

After she told her manager he was basically wrong about exclusions, he did the "he has to buy an Elite" excuse. And she actually rang up an Elite... no change of course.

The manager finally relented, but I was only able to get one pair of the cards.

Although it took a while cause the sales rep was saying that the $20 off meant they were originally $39.99 each and I would have to buy 2 of them for the price to reflect $19.99 each. After I got that sorted out I was able to get 4 (ordered 2 online and got 2 more in-store) cards for $43.25.

Mine had two big piles of them right as you walked in the door. I grabbed one because I forgot to bring mine from home, and I figured I'd need it at some point.

I got there at 10:25 (the ad says the store opens at 10:00 on Sundays, but the voice recording at my local store says they open at 11:00 on Sundays. Man, CC can't even get what time they open right.

Anyway, there were of course no 1600 point cards on the rack, and an employee told me they were OOS even before they opened. Nice. So I went to the customer service dept. with little hope of anything good coming out of it, but the girl there told me she could special order them and I'd get the discount. She then said she could have them shipped to me for no charge, so I told her I'd take four. (I'm kicking myself now that I didn't ask for 6, but oh well) After some problems getting it to ring up right (they were getting the $2 off from that 10% deal) she manually overrode them, and on my receipt, they each rang up for $8.99, which means even with the override, she still gave me 10% off each. Total sale: 4 cards for $37.76. After reading the last several pages, though, I won't consider it a done deal until they arrive in the mail.

Lots of YMMV with the CSRs on this one apparently. Good luck to everyone else.

No problem here in Orlando with Preordering online and picking up in the store. There was some frantic typing on the keyboard that the csr manager was doing and kept mutteirng to herself that it was weird. It took about 15 minutes, but it all worked out in the end... walked out with 4. I think that's the advantage of getting to the store early, they'll eventually skirt the issue somehow else, "Oh, this promotion is only for in store purchases, and we're sold out".

I guess recently I have been soured by CC. I went there to PM a monitor that Best Buy had advertised in their ad. The first problem was, I went there and no one would help me. One girl was counting money from her drawer in the middle of the store. This is totally wrong in the retail sector. Someone could've took money with ease, as she just had stacks of it out.
When I eventually did find someone to help, I went to buy it and the Customer Service manager would NOT PM. I asked to speak to her manager, and she said "NO". I'm assuming he was not there.

Just a horrible way the company is run (at least the one by me).

I will take the ad to Best Buy and get RZ points :)
