I called my CC to see if they had the stock in for my in store pick up. After being transferred a bunch of times between moronic employees, I finally reach what I think is a manager who looks it up my order and says it's in stock. So I drive down to CC for a second time and it seems they are still out of stock and they only have half my order(1 card rather than 2) just like last time I was there! Another trip wasted. The employees are all clueless high school scene kids it seems. I couldn't even get the girl to give me the $24 giftcard since I've been there twice and my order is still not ready.
I'm really frustated with CC and its employees. I don't know if I plan on going back there again..I don't know if it means the same thing to everyone, but I value my time and the gas that I have to burn.
You need to go back and get the gift card. Don't take no for an answer.
The fact that you were there before has nothing to do with it, unless
they want to give you an EXTRA one for your trouble. Give 'em hell.

The 4 (1600 point cards) that I ordered for delivery on Sunday arrived today. I called their online customer service, and asked for a $40 credit. The guy was nice, and after looking at the promotion in the ad, said that I would be receiving a $40 credit. Needless to say, I'll be watching my credit card statement closely for this. Assuming the credit does show up, the process was quite painless, and the $4 shipping is more than worth not having to go to a store and get a price adjustment.

Yeah, the lady wouldn't do a special order for me at my CC.
She did mention their computers were not working correctly either. Sounds like the same problems some people mentioned at other stores during the weekend.
*sigh* I could try to make another 20 minute trip, but I am really not feeling it. I could try going to Best Buy again, but that supervisor pisses me off... And of course, Best Buy still has yet to respond when I asked how I should be reassured by the complaint filed on my behalf when I will see no results of it.
We could use some more GGC's at Best Buy again...

Shot down on attempt #4(5). They made the PM killer move: they called CC.
   Same thing happened to me today.
My cousin and I met at CC today so I could give him the "$40 off $200 purchase" coupon and he could buy the HD-DVD add-on + 300. Didn't work out because they were out of 300 on HD-DVD as well as 1600 MP cards.
Went to BB 2 days ago and got 6 1600 MP cards for my cousin and I so we decided to go back to BB after striking out at CC today.
Grabbed 10 1600 MP cards for him, our friend, and I, then went to customer service. Luckily, I saw the guy that helped me last time and he recognized me. He was really nice last time and was the same this time so he said he'd call a supervisor really fast to get my pricematch.
When he told the girl about us wanting to PM CC she said, "Did you call CC and make sure they were in stock?" :bomb: I knew we were doomed since obviously I had just been there and they were OOS. He said no and then told us he'd be back once he called.
He was gone for like 15-20 minutes because when he went to call all these customers got in line and demanded his attention. However, I decided to wait and remain hopeful that maybe he'd just ask if they had MP cards and not specify 1600 MP cards since I saw that CC did have the 4000 MP cards in stock. No luck. The stupid girl jumped in and called CC herself. :bomb: :bomb: :bomb:
Needless to say, I got denied. :bomb: The guy came back and told me what the girl said and seemed really sad that he couldn't help me out again. I said "Thanks" and simply walked away. Afterwards I felt bad for not saying more to the guy, but I didn't have much time to stay since it took so long and I had to be somewhere else.
Damn, maybe I'll go back to CC Friday since the guy there said they may get more MP cards in later that day or Saturday.
Oh well, I'm just happy I was able to get in on the deal the first time and am thankful to the guy for that. :applause:

I went to CC today for the first time just to see if they had any. They didn't. I went to customer service and asked some guy Rob if he knew about the promotion. He didn't. Of course, I had my ad on hand, and after he went to make sure he was allowed he special ordered 8 for me no problem. Took about 20 minutes because for some reason he said he would need to do it on 4 different receipts, all which required manual overrides on price. But anyway, he was nice and kept calling me 'Boss'.

I was able to grab 2 today because the CC employees were slow to unload their new shipment. Oddly enough, none were on the floor and the employee that brought me the cards only said they had three of them in stock. I just bought two.
I'm very suspicious that they were only giving them out to people who asked and would only give you three at a time so that you would be able to buy 1 for free and then have a third card in case you wanted to buy a different perpherial.
Either way, I'm just glad that I was abel to take advantage of this deal at least once! I think this whole offer has gone horridly wrong.

I'm with you on that...but I don't know how much good it will do. I have emailed them 3 times this year to tell them what a piece of shit the Monroeville, PA store is, and have yet to even receive a single "hey, we got your email, we're sorry" back.

I tried Best Buy tonight after calling and being told they would price match this deal, only to go there and deal with customer service for 10 mins with no luck, and eventually be offered 10% off. I of course denied it, tried CC again, and another BB still with no luck. My Dad is going to try a BB in San Francisco tomorrow, and if that doesn't work, I've given up on this sale.

As an FYI, the warehouse lists none available so they CANNOT special order. This was part of Circuit City's plan (and why the $20 card disappeared from any type of online order earlier this week), I'm sure.
CC is also moving to a new order system at the end of the month, so if they're not in stock--- your order is canceled.
I purchased 2 at Best Buy and I'm going to go with my receipt to get them to price match since the price was "better elsewhere."

The inventory locater is worthless, it was wrong for stores near me. You can only get the gift card if you can actually order online for instore pickup, which they aren't currently allowing.

(not)suprisingly they were out of stock and he let me special order 4. supposed to call me when they get them in.

IDK. When I checked yesterday on CC and BB and the website said it was available at the stores around me, they were both right. And that was after a day or so of the sites saying that they were OOS. Inventory tracking has usually worked pretty well for me.

I couldn't get a price match at all at my local BB. They did not even call the CC to see if they had them in stock. The CSR at BB said that they cannot price match sales from CC.
Zimmy
08-02-2007, 05:32 PM
Because there isn't any price to match. They are giving you a rebate, something totally different.
If they said in their ad, XBox Live 1600 card for $10, then they would price match.
I'm kind of shocked that you even tried.

I don't know if I'm reading the CC ad wrong, but if you purchase and XBL Gold membership ($50) and a 1600 pts card ($20) you should get $20 off the total right? I tried doing that at my local CC and they couldn't get it to work.

The deal is that you save 20 bucks with the purchase of two XBox Live accessories, meaning that what you tried should have worked. Some places didn't seem to put the deal into the computer properly, and you'll have to get them to honor the deal manually. Just show them the Sunday advert (they usually have a bunch laying around the store).

Shocked? Do you manage or own a Best Buy?
The only thing funnier about this clusterfuck of a deal is all the noob resellers which came out of the woodwork to brag in this thread. My favorite is the guy who's first post on the forum is a success story (bravo!) which ends with "They'll be on eBay soon for $18 each if you're interested." (...) Seriously, fuck you buddy.
Anyway. I think I'm going to buy two of the 4000 point cards tomorrow. It's no great deal, but it's better than XBLA price.

what's coming to them? death? injury? by your logic, stores also have bad karma because they too buy stuff cheap, then sell it for more.

None of it was directed to you, so don't get too defensive about it. =)
I just hate it when people buy stuff with intention to resell it for profit. As for the karma thing... I meant that what they're doing is not good. Karma for me would involve my fist in their face. lol

I was able to get two by purchasing a few days before and just getting a price-match on Sunday. While I was there getting the price-match, the manager special-ordered 4 for me and said that they'd be in by Tuesday. Also, they'd give me a call and let me know that they're in.
Well, Tuesday came and I never received the call. So I called them and was told that there weren't any in stock.
I then asked if I could pick them up for the same price next week sometime and the girl at the end (not the manager) said yes.
Do you think I should take her word for it?
I have a "special-order" receipt, but I haven't paid anything yet. I think it'll be pretty easy for them not to honor it.
Unless they intend to discontinue carrying 1600 point cards, I expect that they'll be fully stocked of them after Sunday.

This forum tends to use the word "hoarder" as a catch-all term for hoarding, either with or without the intention to resell.
The thing is, there's a difference between buying a ton to hoard (definitely justifiable in this case) and buying a ton to resell (never justifiable, get a fucking job).

After being denied at BBs repeatedly, I caught them offguard last night. BBs were open till 2 AM for tax free holiday weekend so I caught them when they're tired at 1 AM. Asked if I could PM and they asked whoever lower tier manager was made to work late and they said yes. Walked out with four cards after a friend bought the second pair. I agree, I was pondering this on the way home of work. Is there anything that can be done about this? And before the goobers climb out the woodworks, I'm not talking about sueing or anything like that. I know some of yall have been able to score either at CC or pm but locally I havent had any luck, especially when a Fatwalleter raced to the door Sunday morning and got the only 2 they had. What I'm saying is this, how can it possibly be ok to advertise something but not have it. The angle I'm coming from is all Toyota dealerships could say their selling a certain model of car for 10,000 dollars but none of the dealerships have any? I just dont see how its right.
BTW if anyone is in the Brusly/Addis area of Louisiana the Super Wal-Mart by the Intercoastal canal has about 30 of the points cards NOT in the blister pack(1600). I couldnt get them to do a PM when I tried to buy 4 but if anyone wants to give it a shot.

I'm really interested to know how many points cards were purchased at various locations this week.
I'd be nice to have a poll or thread which listed how many cards and at what retailer. I just think it'd be interesting to see how many points were grossed this week and where the bulk of them were purchased...

Success at yet another BB (one I wouldn't go to specifically, though was near to the area), which I picked up four cards. Went back to the same BB I was denied at last night and was denied again. Though, with the time the MOD was gone "checking to see if CC had them in stock", he could've called all the BB's in the area and tell them to deny the PM.

Yeah, Fry's across 85 had some decent specials and was having a midnight sale until 1 AM so we checked it out on the way home from work. I figure that BB was just trying to catch some people that were disappointed at missing the deals at Fry's. When I asked if they had any specials they were dumbfounded at the concept of specials for the special hours. Both stores did this last year, too.
I dunno how people got PMs at BB... I got shot down, even at walmart.
I did manage to snag 2 of these at CC but that was a pain in the ass. However my receipt does show I paid $9.99 for them so maybe I could use my receipt to score some of these cards at BB for cheaper. Guess I can try.

As a Delaware CAG, I would like to distance myself from any shortage. ;) Both of the CCs here were listed OOS online the moment they opened last Sunday (despite showing stock from the previous afternoon until then), so I haven't even been trying there. I picked up 6 so far at a Best Buy early in the week, leaving plenty for others, and may pick up a few more tonight if luck and stock allow. We're not all hoarders down here...just spoiled by the lack of sales tax. ;)

Also, no one in their right mind would pay a new member with zero feedback first. Hope you weren't expecting that.
Now how am I supposed to get feedback unless I actually sell something. I am not trying to rip anyone off and if there is something I could do to prove this to someone if that is what is holding them back then let me know.

You want the honest answer? You'll have to send the code first to whomever takes you up on your offer. Everyone has to start out like that here. Feedback from other places helps, but it usually doesn't hold a candle to what you've done here.

If you would want to check it out. If I can get someone who is credible on this site wanting one I could see sending out the code first and then getting paid. Seriously though I don't like this option as I could also get ripped off. Like I said I can send you a picture dated with me in it in my house with the card in hand, whatever it takes to convince you I have a few in hand and just want to sell a few.
Hell I'll even take a picture of them right next to the receipt to show you I actually have them and just got them.

I did not know that that was an actual rule. If that is how it needs to be done than that's what I will do. I would just rather not mess with selling them on eBay.
Please don't be hostile towards me for no reason. As I stated I didn't know this was a rule. I'm just trying to sell these and give both myself and other CAG's a good deal.

It's called feedback. If you don't have any, we don't know you from jack. Someone got ripped off just last week I believe over this exact kind of trade.
If you want to trade elsewhere, fine. But don't think you have the right to bitch about people not wanting to get ripped off. Feedback is the only security we have here, unless you count Paypal's false sense of it.

The thing is, there's a difference between buying a ton to hoard (definitely justifiable in this case) and buying a ton to resell (never justifiable, get a ing job).

I understand the feedback issue, but i have a few of the cards I am trying to unload and if I want to make more than on sale on here It wouldn't be wise for me to screw anyone on this deal. Take it for what you want, but you have my word I have these in hand and am just trying to sell a few to cover my costs, otherwise I'll have to return them and then both myself and the potential buyer loose out. My wife won't let me spend to much money on such accessories and this is the reason I am selling a few in order to make her happy.

Same here! Checking the website, it said they had them in-stock today, so I ran down there and there was none on the shelves. I asked an employee, and they checked the back and said there were none back there. I come back home, and the website still says they have 'em.
I've been pretty lucky, in that I got a few for in-store pickup on Sunday, and I got a PM at BB as well. I wanted to spend $200 on points (effective $400 worth), but probably won't be able to get any more the way CC is handling this.

Want to know why I can't sell for that low, I'm married, have a kid and a mortgage and don't have money to blow on microsoft points. I picked a bunch up in hopes of selling some for $15, still a great deal for points, in order to cover the cost of keeping some for myself. I don't know why this makes me funny as I had to use my gas to get these cards, deal with the companies, as we all know from this deal not that easy to do, and still am saving anyone that buys these around $5 - $6 per depending on sales tax.
Call me what you want, but anyway you put it it is still a deal for points.

It appears Houston is a bust. The store I went to had two, but they were for someone that bought them online. They searched other stores and all were out. The manager said he could special order some for me and he would honor the ad, but he said he had no clue when they would come in. He also said they would not be getting any more this week. I have no clue if that is the same for other stores. I just tried looking on their website and they don't even have the 1600 point card listed.

Everyone starts with zero feedback, and to get in on this community, there is a risk involved, just like your first ebay purchase, or anything else, and once you've taken that risk, it becomes a lot easier to continue with the benefits.

Those are called FastCards. They don't work until they're run through the register. They're just like those gift cards and phone cards, you can steal them all day long but they're worthless without activation. Stolen FastCards are one form of eBay scam, never buy one online without the receipt being included.

Had absolutely no luck with the points cards. Anyone know if you can possibly get Best Buy to match the deal?
I did buy LEGO Star Wars II for the 360. Also, I dug around the bottom of their clearance bin and found a rather dirty looking game. After checking it out closer, I noticed the "Working Designs" brand on it and saw it was Silpheed: The Lost Planet for the PS2. Spent about maybe 15 minutes with them trying to figure out why it wasn't coming up when scanning. The game was clearanced out of their system LOOOONG ago, so they under their "Screamin' Deals" label. The receipt shows it as "VALU." Got it for $4.96. Cover's a little beat up, but the game's still intact and everything.
LEGO Star Wars II came up as $14.99.

A great place to start obtaining feedback:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=21
Find or click the little # next to iTrader and there is a link that says "Submit Feedback For membername", fill out all the info and you're all set.
or you can do it the old fashion way and use:

And if anyone else is nearby I checked the BB in Huntington Station and, like usual, they don't have any cards left. It may be because of PMing or it could be because they really only seem to get 2 1600 cards and 2 4000 cards at a time, but it seems to be a bit of a wash at the moment.

Now I have enough points, i'll probably try and return the 1600 card and rebuy it at half price from CC.
Still have my rain check for Westbury for next week.
Also, inventory tracking worked perfectly for me. Showed in stock, called, put them on hold, bought them, came home, site shows OOS.
BB Didn't do it because they didn't want to PM period. The shit about a kickback and bundle is just that, pure shit. BB has always seemed to be the kings of never wanting to PM ANYTHING. I'm shocked that mine did it. Anytime I or anyone else tries to PM at BB, they shoot you these looks like you're about to analy rape their mothers while pouring sugar in their gas tank...
If the little bitch said anything to me about a kickback thopugh, I would have asked "well, are you gettinmg a kickback from Sony for pushing these buy 2 get 10 or 20 off blu-ray deals?". Whatever happned to the days of just PMing what was in the ad because you're a loyal shopper? Oh yeah, thats right, they don't give a shit about you anymore...

If anyone would be interested I still have a few 1600 point cards that I am willing to sell. The asking price is $15 to have the code emailed to you and payment is to be made through PayPal. I just emailed/sold two cards to trader Halo05 and you can see the feedback or ask him if I am legit if you are obtimistic.
I know that has been my only sale on this website, but it should prove I have the cards and live up to my sales.

Too fucking true. Every one of the service desk employees must have taken classes in eye-rolling and huffing and sighing...I posted in the best buy front rowgames thread about the time they actually faked calling target to price match Rescue Me DVDs, and then tried to act like they didn't lie to me.

Hehe, Clerks.
Anywho, I'll be happy when this week is over. It's a great deal that I halfway got in on but seeing the way CC has handled this whole thing just pisses me off.
In addition to the codes I got from Chuckles21, I went ahead and ordered a 4000 point card and 3 months of Live off the CC website. That should hold me through the rest of this year and into the next. I don't buy that many XBLA games and off the top of my head, I can't think of any coming out that I'm dying for.
I am tempted to repeatedly take advantage of my apparently disorganized CC by visiting for every "In stock at 2pm" game that I can and scoring $20 gift cards.

Just thought it would be ironic to point out that as I was special ordering the cards for myself at CC (they gave me no problem) there was a guy next to me at CS who was getting a PM from a BB item and they did the PM np as well.

Just asking if this is normal. When I went to CC when Mario Strikers came out they didn't have that or Picross DS on the shelf. The people who worked there said to go to CS. They literally had TONS behind the counter. Were they hiding it so no one gets the $20?

Anyone write an angry letter to CC corporate yet?
Wrote an angry letter to Best Buy because the supervisor mishandled everything completely and treated me with no respect. Got a reply saying they filed a complaint on my behalf, but of course I will see no results of that and they did not e-mail me with my original e-mail. Tsk tsk. I replied saying I am not reassured at all by this and requested my original e-mail. Got the usual e-mail saying I should receive reply in 3 days. Took 1 day to get my first reply. It's been 4 days without a second reply. If I get a reply tomorrow when the deal expires, hello Better Business Bureau.
I don't think we can really attack Circuit City much unless locally the employees treated you like crap which doesn't appear to have happened too often. My store couldn't do a special order because their servers were down. The lady was trying to be helpful by checking if any other stores in the area had any, but she couldn't do that because everything was all messed up. Be humble if you got in on the deal.

They're either behind the CS desk, hidden in some drawer in the game section, or still in the back storeroom...and sometimes this is days after release. I've seen more than one person leave without purchasing anything because it appeared they didn't have the advertised item in stock. Good job, CC...

After reading all the horrible experiences this week, I held off going to CC until today (when I didn't have to go out of my way to check). Lo and behold, they had 4 1600 cards on the shelf. The cashier didn't give me any problems, and she manually changed the price on all 4 to $10 apiece. Sounds like I dodged a bullet.

I was able to get 4 special-ordered at my local CC last Sunday, and so far two of them have come in. I guess they're going to come in 4 seperate shipments. They didn't charge me for the shipping, so as long as they all come in, I'm happy.
I've tried price-matching at 2 different Wal-Marts during the week and had no luck at either one. I was thinking of trying CC again, just on the off chance of lucking into a situation like nuttyturnip had, or even seeing if they would special-order a few more for me. I don't know, though- it's a 25 minute ride to my CC and I know I'd be pretty annoyed to come up empty. Maybe I should just be happy with the 4 I got and leave it at that.

In Austin, TX got the BB at Techridge to PM the 1600 cards but only because circuitcity.com didn't list them anywhere on their website at the CS rep said she hates calling them to check for product, so she just went ahead and did it. Got two cards, thanks BB!
And every single frigging CC within 50 miles of me doesn't have any cards, some didn't even have 4000 point cards or Live! sub cards. No wonder they are doing terribly. Plenty of Zune cards though!

Yesterday I went to CC and they allowed me to special order 2 1600 MP cards. Figured I'd give it a try since I was already buying the Pelican System Selector. I passed on the SS last time, but saw it again and decided to buy it since it was the last one and the ones at BB were $100-200. At first the girl seemed new so she asked another guy how to PM. He told her, but it still wasn't working so they asked a supervisor. Then the supe came and said to just take $10 off each one and I was gone!
Then I went to BB and was able to PM 4 1600 MP cards. At first I said I wanted to PM the cards and the girl said "Well I don't think we can since MS makes them and we don't determine the price". Then I pulled out my CC ad and said that I wanted to PM them and was able to do it on Monday. She looked at it and said "I don't think they should of PM it, but I'll go check". Once she came back she grabbed the cards and started scanning them. :D
After going to both CC and BB on Monday (success = 6), Wednesday (failure = 0), and Friday (success = 6), I was able to get a total of 12 1600 MP cards for my cousin and I. We are going to split them and get Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine, and whatever else we want.
Thanks soooooo much Speedy! Another success story. :applause:

To my surprise, I have to give big props to the managers and cashiers at the two Wilmington Best Buys. I went in a total of 4 times over this week, and was successful each time. The closest I ever game to a potential denial was when a cashier said that she didn't think they matched a "save $x off y products bought together" deal, but then she called over a manager, who glanced at the ad and made it happen.
It was interesting that they all exhibited different methods of "solving the problem" of the pricematch: taking $10 off each card, making each card come out as $10, and even leaving one card at full price and making the second free. Each time it ended up costing a slightly different amount for each pair, but I'm obviously not going to argue about pennies. And hey, I earned another $2.60 or so on my Reward Zone account. Woo hoo! ;)
Obviously massive props to Speedy, since this saved me a ton of money of the next few months.

Excuse me, but who here has been screwed over or lied to? What has CC done that would require a letter to our State Attorney General's office? From what I can gather, they offered us a great deal and didn't keep enough stock on hand. Other than that there's nothing more going on than a few "clueless" employee stories. If there is something legitimate to complain about, then the order should be something like this:
1) Store Manager
2) CC Corporate
3) BBB
4) Dept. Consumer Affairs
5) SAG
I'll be the first to complain if they refused to honor the sale, or tried some bait and switch tactic, but I see none of that here. I am grateful they were stupid enough to let this sale go through. Whether we got our points from CC or BB, this is an offer we won't see again any time soon.

When I got the last 4 today, the girl tired totake $5 off all of em and the total came up to $65.00. I told her that it basically comes down to a 2 for 1 deal and she went back and adjusted them to $9.99 again. That was kinda funny and I thought I was on thin ice at that moment.

Not sure about being lied to, but when there is an advertised sale it is reasonable to assume that you can get the item. This deal does not say quantities are limited (like a Sunday car advertisement). Also, most stores do issue rainchecks to make good on the deal if they run out of stock. Either that or give a like item at the discount. Neither of these things are happening at CC. And how is it that they didn't get more in all week? Sorry, when I worked at Target years ago these tricks didn't fly.
Also, what's with certain stores trying to pull a fast one saying to buy an Elite? I haven't seen it personally so I'm just trusting what's been written here. I have though seen the tags removed from the hangers that once held the cards making it seem like they wouldn't be getting the product in ever again.
All in all the practices of this week in CC has been shady and will make some people think twice about shopping there. So far this summer has been interesting with this deal and with the PS3 "price drop."

To all Houston CAG's, the Sugarland BB will not price match. I was told by two different people that management considers the deal a package deal and won't price match. The Rosenburg BB said they would PM, but had no cards. The Rosenburg Wal-Mart PMed for me and I walked out with 4 cards. Best bet is to avoid Best Buy. Go to Wally World instead.

They had 1 at my local CC this morning so I picked it up with a 12+1 X-Box Live Halo Card that I needed anyway. The funny thing is when I asked if I could special order 2 more 1600 points card the girl did it for me no problem but she took the whole $40.00 disount off the 12+1 Live card making it only $9.99. So I might just return the 3 1600 points cards when the other two come in and get the year of live for only $9.99.

Lets see, people have been told "The deal is only good if you buy an Elite", the website didn't apply the savings to the 1600Point Card when it was in stock and now its vanished from the site unless you have a direct link handy. You can't check avaiblity on those cards either, some people were denied a speical order/rain check, CC failed to have engough in stock for a sale. Some people got lucky, others got screwed. This didn't go as smooth as it sould've at all.

Picked up my special ordered points today!
I paid $40 for 4 cards-$24 since my order wasn't ready last Sunday when I ordered. That means that after tax I paid about $5 each for my 1600 point cards.
The deal was so good, I went ahead and ordered 5 more 1600 point cards and got a replacement headset--mine's going a little flaky.
By the way, I went to another nearby CC to buy my headset and additional cards initially because it's a little closer. The manager was nice, but he said I'd have to order the cards at full price and then he'd give me the discount when they came in. I told him I didn't want to give CC an interest free loan, and I didn't want them to tell me later that they couldn't give me the deal because the deal was over. He finally just gave me his business card and told me to talk to him again when they were back in stock. and he'd sell them to me at the sale price.
So, this is a very YMMV deal, but I ended up coming out well ahead. Now what will I spend my 6400 points on...? :)
A big thanks again, Speedy. Interesting that DVD talk was threatened with legal action for disseminating future sales circular info in their forums, but CAG hasn't. I wonder it has something to do with Cheapy living in Tokyo? Or do they get more traffic or something?

A big hearty thanks to CAG for being here to host this thread and Speedy for the post. On the first day of the sale, I was only able to Special order at CC, still haven't heard when those points are gonna get there.
Today at the Bellingham Best Buy, walked in and there was a full hanger of 1600 points cards. I got 4 PM'd to the deal w/o even a call to the one CC in town (I already knew they were sold out there) and walked away a happy person. Any B'hamer's, there are still 4-6 1600 points cards left on the hanger, and hassle free to get! Walk straight to the customer service checkers.
Side not: I wonder how long CC can go without delivering us our points? Can they just delay the hell out of it? If I show up there and find cards on the shelves, w/o having gotten a call asking me to pick my special order up, I'm gonna throw a shit fit.

I got the $20 gift cards essentially for free. Any good CAGer will know what I mean. You can skip the first two, because they don't give a shit. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a clueless employee. If you wear the shirt, you are the face of the company. If you get told something by one of these people, you expect it to be the truth and not to be lied to. Which, is something a lot of people have experienced this week.
Already we have one report of points cards magically showing up Saturday after closing, when I'm pretty sure UPS or FedEx didn't deliver them then. I don't doubt we'll see more reports like this, meaning there was a coerced effort by the company not to honor their prices/sale. This is where the BBB and your SAG come in, to see if there were indeed deceitful practices being used, and who made the decision to do it.
If someone felt there was some genuine deception going on, then we need people to investigate it. At least it will mean people won't get their hopes up next time.

You are the epitomy of all that is good and right in this world. I applaude your fight for justice and unshelfishness. Again, the reason I'm selling these cards for what I am, still not a rip off by any sense of the imagination, is because I have to cover my costs. I love how you rip on me for trying to help both me and others, as I have a mortgage, kid and a wife to think of as well, not just you.
Don't take this as a rip on the community here. I think it is a great thing that people do here in helping everyone out. Just don't rip on me for setting a price and sticking to it, again still a deal as far as points are concerned.
In layman's terms: How is selling them for less than regular cost anything near a ripoff.

But really, that's not what upsets me. You bought them, you can price them whatever the hell you want to.
What upsets me is your sense of entitlement, ESPECIALLY coming from a Newbie who hasn't posted a.) outside of this thread and b.) more than fifteen times. Well a little disappointed that I didn't get any points. Went last Sunday when the deal started and they had none. Went Weds, or Thurs. don't remember which and still none. Went yesterday and they were still out...Surprise Surprise.
So, instead I just picked up two 12+1 Subscription cards, a Wireless Controller and a Play and Charge kit. Not bad for $127 and some change after tax.

Yeah, the girl at mine was new, called the manager over, and he pointed out the Xbox Live thing, wasn't about to argue as I had a cool CC that special ordered me the cards I wanted, got them by Wednesday last week so.

... but controllers and PnC kits aren't XBL accessories... are they? I thought they were just plain ol' accessories. If so... d'oh. I could have used another PnC kit and I doubt they'd go to the lengths to hide those like they did the 1600 pt cards since that's what everyone seemed to be after.

Boo hoo, you have a wife and kid and puppy and car and house to pay for. Trying to sell $10 sale items for $15 each (and this isn't even a shipped price) isn't going to save you from poverty.
But really, that's not what upsets me. You bought them, you can price them whatever the hell you want to.
What upsets me is your sense of entitlement, ESPECIALLY coming from a Newbie who hasn't posted a.) outside of this thread and b.) more than fifteen times. Went in to CC this past Friday and of course they were sold out of all the 1600s. I went to CS and they hooked me up with 4 cards. Just had to put down $8. Man, I should have gotten 6 or 8. Oh well. They said they'll call me, but i highly doubt that so i'll give 'em a call tomorrow.

Pulled one over on myself as well. I completely forgot about the LIVE part of the deal. It was funny too, because I even asked the kid in the video game section and the only thing that he didn't know about was whether or not I could use the deal twice in one purchase. He didn't say anything about me using it towards a wireless controller and a play and charge.
This is the true definition of YMMV. :D

If anything, this deal has taught me to start reading the sticky "weekly ad" threads. For the longest time I assumed that nothing of interest could possibly be going on there, and this time, it came back to bite me. Some of you guys had a week or more advance notice, and I didn't find out til Monday! I was successful in PMing at Walmart and Best Buy, though -- BB while on vacation in another state! :-) Each one made me wait around while they talked it over. In the true CAG spirit, I pressed on without shame until I walked home with a deal.
All the same, though, I regret that people who posted new threads about this deal in the main forum were blasted for duping the sticky thread. It was only due to one of those poor saps that I learned about this thing in the first place. Don't be too hard on them!

Stupid CC. They were supposed to have special ordered 6 of the point cards for me. Instead, they ordered 3 and charged me $17.99 each. They had to credit all 3, and I walked out with 2 @ $9.99 each.:bomb:

And are they honoring previous special orders from last week?
I'm wondering if I can get another 4 with the deal from the special order receipt I have.
They can easily not honor it, since I didn't put any money down, but then again even if I had paid, they could just refund the money.
Anyways, I called on Sunday and they just said they'll be restocked on Tuesday, but I heard that one before.

They're coming as part of their normal stocking order that a store gets, and they're supposed to be earmarked for you when they arrive. If your store has the items on the shelf, it shouldn't be much longer for them to get the items in-stock for your special order.

Shrike- if im reading you correctly, CC is allowed to have the stock on the shelves, w/o giving prepaid special orderers a call? If I went into the store, and saw some on the shelves prior to my order being fulfilled I'd pitch a shit fit and demand I be given what I had ordered.

They should just grab stock from their normal resupply orders to fill the special orders (since we already paid for the items in advance to get the order fulfilled), though I don't think they do it that way.
I had one order placed on the 30th and the other on the 4th. If the first order doesn't come in by Saturday, I think I'll talk to them about "releasing" one for my first order.

Man oh man, I love how you put me down for being a newbie and that since I have just found and joined this site I have no rights on here. I was unaware that this was some kind of secret society that I had to pay my dues in order to be accepted here.
"which I doubt even exist, no grown man with a family is dumb enough to think the $2-3 you made per card resell is going to matter" You missed the whole point of what I'm doing here. If I can sell a few cards that I pick up and make $5 on each then I can essentially get a few cards for free. Now your right in the big scheme of things this little bit of savings will not save me from the poorhouse, but it will also save me some cash which can be better used for other things. You said it yourself that I can price these wherever I want, but then hate my justification. Whatever you think is up to you, but what I said is the truth and I have not lied.
Are you married? Do you have a kid? Do you have a house? If not I really don't think you have a right to comment on my justification of any of this.
I don't really get your "FACE OF GOD" remark? Anyway, if you would actually get to know me, and not just get pissed off that I didn't sell you them for what you wanted and instead made you make a run to CC, I don't think you would be making these unwarranted accusations.
I love how you got so pissed off because of me. No one has to pay what I am asking. If I truly wanted to make the biggest margain of profit I would have put them on eBay, but I don't like messing with eBay and it's easier this way. I'm not out to screw anyone, if I wanted to do that I would have sold a few never given out the codes and never been back to this site again.
This is not what I want.
Why should I post in other forums if I have nothing to add to them? I am not the type to add comments like "awesome" or "cool, I'm going to get that." as It's just not me. If I post it is only for things that I can actually add to the forum. (Except for here where I had to rebuke you)

Guys, no need to get feisty with the mate. I suppose in "CAG culture" hoarding is bad and all, but can't blame a guy for trying. If I could get a few spares, I probably would've sold some here and pocketed the profit in hopes of reducing the costs of the cards even more. Chuckles offered to sell me some, too, but I told him he's better off to try selling them on eBay or elsewhere at his prices.

Well, I checked with CC Tuesday and it seems that there's nothing scheduled to come in for next week.
Which means the soonest that they'll have them in stock is the week of 8/19 - 8/26, but he couldn't say for sure. He only could only that nothing was coming in this week or the next.
Is this the case for everyone else?
Or has everyone who special ordered extra cards already received them?
I know this is a bit of a dead thread, but I just want to follow-up on this until we find out one way or another.

The four cards I special ordered on 08/04 hadn't arrived yet, and my CC's shipments arrive on Wed and Fri. So, the first special order must have arrived on Wednesday, as I checked earlier in the week, and it wasn't there. If my second special order doesn't arrive tomorrow, then it won't arrive until next Wednesday.

Picked up the cards today that I placed as a special order two weeks ago. Apparently they've had them for a while, but their highly trained and professional staff didn't remember to call me--the only reason I found out that my order came in was because I gave their customer service a ring.
Still, four 1600 point cards at 10 bucks each... can't really complain now, can I?

Finally got a call from CC the other night. Just like another poster wrote, they've had 4 cards in for a while, but finally got around to calling me.
Apparently, it was just to let me know that they would need to cancel the order if I didn't come by within the next two days to pickup.
I was going to put it off until today, and just pick it up when I went in to get Bioshock, but I was free and slightly anxious to finally complete the purchase.
Unfortunately, even though the order was for 4 cards, they only had 3. They couldn't explain why one was missing and couldn't find it in the back.
So, I need to wait even longer for them to finally fulfill the order.
I'm not in a rush to get them, but I'm beginning to get the feeling that it's not worth all the wait and trouble. I've already been out there 3-4 times! It's not far, but it's still a little tiresome.
And, I have my doubts whether they'll finally be able to complete the order. I have a pretty strong hunch that it'll get messed up at some point and they're just going to cancel it with the reason that I never bothered to pick it up.:bomb:

Gotta another message on the answering when I came home from work today.
It only took them a day to find the missing one.
Went back, picked up the four cards, and was even able to exchange a faulty 1600 point card for a new one.
They had 3 behind the counter for videogames. I suspect they were the three that were initially meant for me. I asked for one, and went downstairs to pickup the four that I special ordered. After he rang up the purchase of four, I asked if I could do an exchange and he promptly exchanged it for the new one I had in hand.
Looking back upon the experience, there was some things I could gripe about (getting hassled for an exchange, missing one of the cards, multiple trips, etc.), but since I ultimately got everything I wanted, I can't complain too much.
It was a great deal, but you definitely had to work a bit for it.
