Since it's a bit of a pain to drive to Blockbuster only to have that one obscure movie rented, and since I'm making good money, I'm considering subscribing to an online rental store like Netflix. What I'm asking for is which store has the cheapest monthly fee, and the cheapest deal. Thanks.
Netflix is your best bet. They are organized and have a good shipping system, no real competition.

Blockbuster has a free coupon code "Friends" that is once per credit card. You can use paypal virtual debit to generate a card # and have free BBO as long as you want. Also, BBO doesnt put a hold on unchargable accounts until 2 and a half months from your start date.

netflix 100% the movie selection with blockbuster is piss poor. If you're looking for just new releases, then it doesn't really matter. However if you're into foreign film or older hard to find stuff, then definatly go net flix

Could you elaborate a little more? Are you saying there's a way to "cheat" BBO and get free online rentals? Please break it down so I can understand it better.
As for Netflix, what are the best (and cheapest) deals available? I know they have deals like reducing the price if you're a returning member or whatnot, but can you list all of them so I can decide which is best for me?

Its quite simple, sign up, enter the promotion code "Friends". Enter your credit card information (using either a prepaid card with not enough to be charged, or a paypal virutal #) and hit start. Bam, you now have a 2 and a half month subscription for free. After 2 and a half months the account will be placed on hold and you can start a new one. (you gotta start a fresh queue, but its not that hard with the help of screenshots.)
You can also have multiple accounts as long as you dont use the same name. Ive used initials, nicknames, etc, with no problems. Ive had two accounts going at the same time as well. No problems at all. I'm currently doing a free month of netflix on a prepaid card with nothing on it, so we'll see how long I can ride this train with them.

So let me get this straight. Enter the promotion code "Friends", put it under a Paypal virtual number, that's a 2 and a half month free trial. Once the trial ends, you just start all over with a new virtual number?
How do you create a Paypal virtual card anyway? And have you actually managed to pull this off without Blockbuster catching on, and without you spending a single penny?
Regardless, I still would like some of the current subscription rates for Netflix, if someone doesn't mind.

While I won't suggest attempting to defraud Blockbuster as Bezerker has done...
I would suggest paying for Blockbuster's service.. the rates are identical to Netflix last I checked, the turn around for me is spectacular (one day there, one day back).. and you get the added benefit of being able to exchange in-store.
edit - Plus they give you 1 coupon a month for a free movie or game rental.

Before i went to a paid 5 out at a time account I did Blockbuster free for around 8 months. I recently was paid $50 to create another Blockbuster account, so i used the friends code and a prepaid debit card and have had no problems. I still get the coupons & instore exchanging with the free account.

I gave Netflix's subscription plans a look and found the following:
http://www.netflix.com/HowItWorks
The 2 DVDs per month for $4.99 sounds like the best option for me, as I typically rent around 2 movies per month, so I would be saving $5 as well as the benefits of renting any movie I want along with not having to drive to the rental store. The 1 DVD unlimited option for $8 sounds good too, but I would need to calculate how many movies I could rent a month if I returned them in a regular basis. If it's only one extra DVD from the 2 movie monthly plan, than it isn't really worth it.
I haven't been able to find the subscriptions for Blockbuster Online, so I don't know how they stack up.
Also, doesn't Netflix offer a "Returning Member" subscription plan? I've seen a couple whenever I quit my free trials, but I don't remember the rates.

Netflix is alright but I decided to use Gameznflix a good selection of movies not as elaborate as Netflix but I went for Gameznflix because of the games they have to offer. Price is very reasonable I believe there is even a coupon code you can use to reduce the monthly fee. Compared to renting games directly from Blockbuster which was what I use to do, I am very happy with the service plan and the condition of all the games I get.

Netflix has more plan options even one for $5 a month. One isn't better then the other. Also your shipping times will vary by where you live.

Could someone kindly list all the options, or at least the ones I missed?

Bump, need more info please. Also, can you suspend your account, say if you were out of town for a month?
