Look at the post by Master Assassin.

It is a censor bypass AND a racial slur. I have marked it for moderation TWICE and still nothing is done. If anyone has the ablility to mark messages please do so. I want to see how long it will take for their mods to get off their asses.

I don't know much about forums, but do Mods get paid or something? If so how much?

Do people still visit GameFAQs and expect competant mods?

Uh, the post that you seemed to be talking about was deleted. I'm sure you won't post what it said, so I dub this thread as dead.....

GameFAQs needs to ban like 90% of the people that post there. It's not even worth reading for the train-wreck shock value as a laugh anymore.

My question is, why do people think anyone here gives a fuck what anyone at GameFAQs posts?

Seriously.

There are plenty of morons here, too. There's just a higher concentration of them at GameFAQs because it's a very popular website, yes?

There are thanks to CC. I've read alot of message boards, but never became involved in one until I came here. Everyone had a nice, unspoken comaradarie and got along pretty well.

... then the CC sale happened. And we are still feeling the shocks of the mass in-flux of new people. I haven't been here very long, but I still felt something had changed after the CC sale.

It's slowly getting back to normal here. The hyenas are hauling their bits of the CC carcass off to eBay and the trading forums now.

Thank you.

I thought I was the only one who noticed this site changed due to the CC sale.

I still have yet to figure if it was for the better or worse.

As long as there are some new members who will contribute, maintain some civility, and worship their god Mr. T, then I would say the change is for the better. Yes?

I use GameFAQ's for walkthroughs and cheats. And sometimes I'll read reviews on older games like SNES and Genesis stuff just so I can get an idea of what a game's about. It's helped me make a decision a few times on whether a few cheap SNES and Genesis titles I've passed up at Game Crazy and CD/Game Exchange are worth going back for.

But, as you all should know, steer clear of the boards.

Seriously.

Because alot of people have either been there before or have usernames there. Whether people like GameFaqs or not, it has been around a long time.

I've said before, there are SOME boards that are fine there. The Star Trek board, Classic Gaming board, The Television boards, just about any of the older system boards are fine also.

Its people like Ledhed that make this site such a great place. I know I've been here for a few month and don't post all that much but whenever I do, I try to with respect for every CAG out there and I try to do things that get CAGs involved with each other like Fantasy Football. I would hate to see this place ever get close to how bad the Gamefaqs boards are.

i don't go there much anymore, except for faq help if i need it. for message boards i usually go to LUE2. it's more like gamefaqs boards used to be.

http://www.evolutionx3.com/?r=916

it's just social boards, but better than gamefaqs.

I dont mind Gamefaqs. Some of the boards are horrible, like the Next Gen Gaming board, but its a great place to get help with a game if you dont want to buy the guide. I also like some of the social boards.
BTW, that message is now moderated.

The thing about gamefaqs that pisses me off is I've had my account there since 2000, and I've watched as the site has slowly deteriorated into a total shitbag. It's not entirely the users fault either, more so the mods who've done nothing to control it and are mostly pompous jackoffs. I shoulda/woulda/coulda been a mod there, but I'm glad I'm not.

Well, I use GameFAQs for finding FAQs quickly. They are a good source of it and some reviews are really handy for getting different opinions. Even the boards have uses. If you need help with a game, you can find an answer in a matter of minutes. But beyond that, don't go to the boards. I've made that mistake. The DUMBEST... ARGUEMENTS... EVER...
