Not sure if strategy guide and coupon are included if you order online...it does not say "in stores only".

If you get Hardboiled on DVD, you get a free strategy guide for "Stranglehold" videogame, plus a $10 coupon for "Stranglehold" game for the XBOX 360.


I know that this was on speedy1961's ad and that its not as good of a deal as the PS3 CE version w/Hardboiled in Blu-Ray but for X360 only owners and fans of the movie, its as good as it gets and its easy to overlook on the ad thread.

I saw this on Sunday in the ad, and I wondered about a couple of things:

Is this "bounce back" coupon just a regular $10 off the 360 edition of the game? Both regular and CE? Instant and hopefully not mail-in?
Is the strategy guide just whatever the regular guide is, or some sort of "CC exclusive", possibly cut down version?

I don't think this deserves it's own thread. Isn't there a Stranglehold topic already? Maybe it should've gone in there?

Then again, I'm of the belief that anything that is already covered in speedy's threads should stay there and if you really want to talk about specific deals for specific games you should keep that to whatever game-specific thread was already made for it.

As a big fan of the movie, just wanted to note that this new DVD set has gotten some pretty negative reviews for A/V quality (from discussion and reviews linked from dvdtalk).

That said, I like the idea of this deal - I've been excited about Stranglehold coming out (and only have the 360).

I just got this, and my CC didnt even know about the deal. I had to show them the ad and they had to search the back to find it, only to come back and say that they haven't received any of the promotion stuff.

I had to leave my name/number with them and they said they would call me when they get them in. Which doesnt really bother me that much since I will be going back on Sunday morning to get some MS Points.

hardboiled is a John Woo classic, with Tony Leung and CYF they make good roles together. I Still can't wait for J. Woos, Battle of Red Cliff also starring the 2. At first CYF demands were a little high as so he's only getting a small role now. Although I think HK can't work with these guys forever it's time for some new blood.

My store did NOT get any of that crap in, and it pissed me off, because I wanted it pretty badly. Hopefully we'll get it later this week.

I stopped by the Independence, MO location, and they didn't know if they ever got it in - but there was no sign of it. (They seemed to have no idea if they ever had any).

They called the location in North KC to check there, and it seemed like the same situation.

Any chance anyone has heard anything?

I contacted Circuit City's help line and they said that no stores ever received the promotional items and that they were not honoring this deal. Of course their response took 9 days and two phone calls plus 7 emails from me to get Needless to say I was pretty mad about the lack of timely response.

I'm taking my reciept for Hard Boiled and the CC flyer that I saved from that week and making the manager take $10 off Stranglehold on Tues. There is no excuse. They will give me the discount.......or if someone can post the coupon and let us know what the guide that we were supposed to get is like that will be cool too.
