Just caught this on TV, and was shocked to see a GameGear in a modern commercial!

So its the gamegear's fault for childhood obesity and general laziness

Probably because it's easy as hell to get one that's affordable. Only requires purchasing from a flea market or pawn shop.
Damn those Game Gears.

It's your fault kids are unhealthy!

I haven't seen a gamegear in a long time at thriftstores near me! I did see a lot of old Playstation systems and original Gameboys though.
Hmm...wouldn't the GameGear burned more calories for being heavier with six batteries! :)

You could lose weight from carrying around all the batteries needed to play that thing.

I'm surprised they don't have the kid PRESSING EVERY BUTTON AS FAST AS HE CAN, like apparently you do in every game ever according to every tv show, movie, and commercial I've seen.
IT'S BECAUSE IT PROVES YOU ARE PLAYING IT WOMG

I still want the Turbo Express that Will Smith gives to his kid in 'Enemy of the State'.

Well the person who made this commercial probably said lets use a Game Gear since it is cheaper and the children are going to be fixated on the Eddy Murphy Donkey.
This is why I stop watching television a long time ago. You wake up and turn on the TV you find out giant Gants is kidnapping mole people in the middle of the night and then you go right back to bed thinking about going down to the news station and kicking the big smile face person in the cockpit who told you the story.
This reminds me. On UPN nine in a family show I saw a kid playing a gameboy and they used fake sounds for the gameboy. This was when the gba was out and the nds was new.

At least the kid is smart and is using an AC Adapter to power it. I imagine after a few 5 minute takes the 6 AA's already died.

That reminds me of the movie Rumble in the Bronx. Jackie Chan's character gave this handicapped kid a game gear as a gift. So the kid instantly 'turns it on' and starts playing except there clearly is no game cart inserted. DOH!

Oy. A government ad, huh? That means they probably spent $6000 on the Game Gear.

Weird... who really has a GameGear nowadays? I would expect a GameBoy Color before a GameGear.

I'm amazed at how you went from a coherent initial statement to nonsensical rambling in that amount of space.

I still have mine laying about somewhere. I actually have the blue one that was a "special edition" that came packaged with a baseball game. I only have no more than about 5 games for it though. Of course, I've ALWAYS wanted one of those TV tuner cards for the sake of having one

Actually my good sir it looks more like a Sega Nomad or Atari Lynx because of the size because I know that the Game Gear isn't that big when I played it. But, none the less they could have had a newer handheld then these in that ad.
