Well, figured out why MS points won a month ago or more are not working. Did some reading on the points on MS's site. Apparently the points in contests will only be redeemable for 30 days. After that, MS voids them and you're out of the points.

Kinda sucks, but can see how Tropicana is still giving out MS points.

yeah, I had a talk with her about a missing gamepack (several months back). she basically said the same thing, the so called 'questionable wins' as she put it. she was nice, and says she gets flooded with calls, several about people saying they won the system (liars :evil:). some poeple are just mental crazy about winning, Cindy quote.

You can enter as many as you like at once but they will not stack and only last 48hrs from the time entered. If you want to get a full year of free live you'd have to enter in a new code every 48hrs. There is absolutely no reason why M$ would ban you for using these codes and I'm a bit confused why ppl like F.R.O.M are shitting themselves about this??.

I was asking for non working MSP point codes because I have had experience of getting these to work. I remeber trading with someone here a few weeks back (MSP codes for gamepack) and some of the codes appeared not to work. Took me a good few tries before eventually they were accepted (yes I had entered them correctly).

These are MS codes. They give them away as promotion, in hopes that after playing a while for free, you'll want to pony up the money to keep it going. They won't ban you for using something they offered under the terms they offered it under.

Well the official rules of the contest state that you can enter once a day. Win or lose, you get a 48 hour code. So you can get 2 codes every 48 hours playing by the rules, so you're within your right to use them one after another. So no, Microsoft would not ban you because even if you were to play strictly by the rules you would still have a bunch of leftover codes to use.

F.R.O.M doesnt have a bad argument - the theory is that you use the same email daily and u still get the same 48 hour code. So they do give the same code to the same person regardless of which day he entered.

Either way, i agree that microsoft shouldnt ban you from live if you keep using different 48 hour codes. also, 40-50 dollars a year is worth it for live, IMO.

I would imagine its alot like the tv infomercials "LIMITED TIME OFFER OMGZ CALL IN NOW!!". They just want you to feel pressure to bite on their deal and hopefully subscribe. Go to this page...

Enter a user name eg "ajshbjsafbv" (anything will do)
Enter a email add eg "vkjfhvbhfvh@cghchg.com" (basically anything with @ and .com will do")
Enter DOB eg "1/1/1987"
Enter password eg "1" (I choose 1 because its so close to the tab button on keyboard.)
Hit return to create fake account.
Next enter "AA4XPN3" for the access code (its ALWAYS the same)
Type the words from the word verification into the box.
Hit enter!
The next screen will show you if you've won or not and either way gives you the free 48 trial code. If you didn't win that time don't worry!. Just hit the back button twice and change only 1 character from the email address you previously entered (in my example above I would just remove/add a single letter). Everything else stays the same including username and DOB but you will need to type in a password again (remember how I chose 1 for closeness to the tab key :D). Go through the whole word verification thing again then rinse and repeat as many times as you want untill you win something, simple.

You always get a 48hr trial code no matter what you do.

. Then others see how many times we were winning and it drew then to this game like flys on crap thinking they too would be winners.. It doest exactly work like that.. a person or 2 or 3 can lock this game down completely with no one even having a chance... Those of us who won have had many chances to win. most of the people who played alot won ATLEAST 1 vip.. I held back making the keys public because I wanted to see certain people win... Most if not all of them have now cashed in and I want other people too.

Having been a member on SD for nearly 4 years, and a poster in the TIWG thread there since day one, I can say for sure this guy knows what he's talking about. Bitter is a well respected SD member and is among the most UNgreedy members I know. He has personally given away more than he's kept for himself and it is my sincere hope that his tips help those of you who have been less fortunate to finally score some big wins. On the other hand I'm sure that won't happen for CAG members as most of you have never contributed anything positive to the SD boards. For some reason, the majority of CAG members seem to think the folks over at SD are "hoarders" when, if you would have taken the time to join, and contributed something helpful/useful/positive, you too could have been reaping the benefits of being a member of a truely kind and helpful community. Not saying CAG members are any less deserving but the way you guys constantly use SD to get your information (refer to Halo 3 First To Own contest for proof) without contributing to the content that makes SD a superior community...well...it's just makes me sad! Especially since I'm a member of both.

Of course, I can't blame folks for letting others do all the work. Guess that's the nature of members here at Cheap Ass Gamer (guess it's all in the name of the site...explains it all).

It's too bad the members of both boards can't get along as I think we could all benefit greatly from the combined knowledge that our members exhibit.

On the other hand I'm sure that won't happen for CAG members as most of you have never contributed anything positive to the SD boards. For some reason, the majority of CAG members seem to think the folks over at SD are "hoarders" when, if you would have taken the time to join, and contributed something helpful/useful/positive, you too could have been reaping the benefits of being a member of a truely kind and helpful community. Not saying CAG members are any less deserving but the way you guys constantly use SD to get your information (refer to Halo 3 First To Own contest for proof) without contributing to the content that makes SD a superior community...well...it's just makes me sad! Especially since I'm a member of both.

Of course, I can't blame folks for letting others do all the work. Guess that's the nature of members here at Cheap Ass Gamer (guess it's all in the name of the site...explains it all).

True. But for those who have won absolutely nothing the whole time, this will help them a lot.

This whole game was much easier when it first started b/c fewer people to compete against. But if everyone has the info on how to do it, it will become near impossible b/c there will still only be 1 winner per prize - but much more competition for that prize. I think we have all figured out that there are only so many prizes per day (ie 0.8 VIP's per day).

I agree with Lzzrdboy's comment in that this CAG forum has been pretty much nothing but posting of 48 hour codes. Not much other chat, strategy, or anything going on. Really not that many questions either.

This person has won 5 VIP'S and lots of other GP's and MSP codes. Seems like hitting our back button twice was not the only way to win and someone figured out a better way.

As my previous post reflects...I agree with Bitter on this. With, of course, the exception of the First to Own game. To be brutally honest, it would behoove most of you to keep it civil, as BD states... afterall, wouldn't you rather benefit from his graciousness? Just sayin'.

BD's wins were mainly in the very beginning when it was hardly popular. I've tried to go back and play here and there for that elusive VIP but too many people play now. It is a game of chance just like the lottery. Whip out the calculator and do some math. That should give a little hint as to how the game works.

Ran across this thread and thought I'd join. I've been playing this Instant Win for over a month now. So far today I have won only twice ( 2- 100 MSP's ).

To date I have won:

4- faceplates

6 - gamepacks

1- VIP Console ( Won on Thanksgiving Day ) :lol:

Not to mention 1,000's of MSP'S . I don't know if people actually keep the link for the points or not. I don't bother with the singles. I copy and paste the 100 point win to Wordpad.

I don't think it is a good idea to allow one thread from SD to turn you off from the entire site. I rarely have been to this site but I doubt all the name calling you see in this thread is a definition of what this site is about. I have been part of SD since 2004 and there have been many threads before the Tropicana one. If you have some free time maybe you should check out the rest of the site before you give up on it. I am going to look more into this site and I bet I will find a lot of other threads that are worth my time.

Now it comes out that someone and a few others figured out how to "lock down" the game preventing others from winning and they were winning the prizes. That eliminated the open playing field of our chances of winning. Which in my opinion isn't fair to the thousands of others trying to win. I'm not talking about just trying to win myself but for everyone trying to win.

Without inviting further name-calling I'll try and provide this helpful piece of information one last time. THERE'S NO "LOCKING DOWN" OF THIS GAME. Just because someone says it doesn't make it fact. We all know about the change on the back end of the game which limited prize distribution heavily. Let common sense be your guide folks. The playing field is still fair...the odds are still in the TIWG's favor. I invite you all to head over to SD and check out the ton of other contests for gaming. This is only one of many and since there's no secret to winning, your time is best spent spreading the love amongst them all. Good Luck to everyone and may you all WIN WIN WIN!

I see what you are saying but I know that 90% of his wins were at the time I started playing and the game wasn't locked down. When I really started playing for hours at a time to get that VIP, he had stopped. He never told me his "secret" nor do I know what it is to this day. I have a feeling it is the same thing that I figured out. If so, there is no "locking down the contest" for others not to win. In fact, there have been plenty of times that neebies to the game won the VIP mear minutes before, during, and after my game play. My posts in SD shows that fact b/c the VIP's and other items were being posted at that time. It is still a game of chance. You could tell more people were playing b/c the new members to the SD forum exploded. Once that happened the winning became impossible - especially before and during the holidays.

I played hard to win the VIP and I accumulated a lot of stuff on my journey. Unfortunately I have not won it. Does that make me greedy? That's a general question and everyone is open to their opinion. 1/2 my wins have gone to my brother in a different state. I was trying to win the VIP for him before Xmas so he didn't have to buy one. That didn't work out so I stopped playing and he ended up just buying one. Would it be greedy to start playing again to win my Nephew a VIP and accumulate more GPs and Points along the way? Again, a general question.

rofl.. little history lesson for you since you obviously did no reading over at SD.. My first vip I won was the first week of october. the last time I played consistantly was 1st week of november. From 1st week of nov till first week of dec I played one day for 30 mins and won a vip the 1st week of dec. I havent played since then. So for you to put the lack of anyone winning on me is grasping at straws at best.

There are other folks who put time into reading and put things together from not only the open thread on SD but the old retired thread. INVEST the time into reading .. and you may be able to glean out enough information to help you as others have.. this is more then back back +1 blah blah blah.. if it were that, do you think I would have won so much?

Feb 1st you will find out what software I ran when I played and the method I used. I can tell you this, I have NEVER told anyone that I run a program to help me play .. this is something Ive never even posted at SD.. but this software was the biggest reason I won.

On a lighter note, 3 gamepacks just arrived today after about a month of not playing :bouncy: . My friends will sure be happy to get these. I was really suprised and not expectng to actualy recieve these after all the trouble people were having. Sure enough there was a little stack of recycled cardboard packages on my doorstep after work today.


EDIT: I also won a faceplate (about 5 but gave 4 away) and that didn't come with the games. I won it before the gamepacks, so mabye they are out of them or mine got lost in the mail.

Seriously.. selling 48hr Trial Codes is the lowest form of selling ever possible. First of all, just use 10minutemail and register. You can get one code LITERALLY in like 30 seconds. Now, let's do some simple math.

It takes 30 seconds to get a new 10minutemail "email", put in the code, and get a trial code.

30 seconds * 50 = 25 minutes.

Until you get a RROD and you have to have your US account signed in to play.Lol true but I've even found a work around for that too :D. In that case what you do is redownload the game to your new console and sign in on the account it was registered to. After the game has loaded you just hit the guide button, sign out of the US account and back into the UK account :D:D. I know this works because I have two 360s and I've tested it out. Obviously its a bit more hassle but really only an extra couple of button pushes.

Regarding a bot that a few certain people used to 'cheat' at the game. It was deleted because bot talk is not allowed on here.

Be forewarned that any further mention of this will not be tolerated.

The "secret" from SD is just that the contest gives out its prizes on the minute, so any tries that aren't exactly on the minute are pretty much worthless since any prize that might have been given out is already gone. So you have to try as close to the minute change as possible. It's not exact (apparently it's sometimes a few seconds before or after the minute change) so all it really does is give you an edge. There was a time (when people didn't know about it) when people on SD said that it was pretty easy to get a prize using that method.

I honestly can't believe I didn't think of that and/or nobody else on here said anything about it. It seems so simple now...

Needless to say it doesn't help too much when everybody knows it.

There's so many people playing this game now that it's near impossible to win. It's really not worth the time anymore. You can easily sit and play for 2 hours straight and not win a single thing (trust me I know :cry:). You'd be better off spending your time doing a little over time at work and buying yourself the prizes.
