That smarter child thing only got me 900 points... After being asked if I have xbox live, repeatedly typing "y" then getting the typing too fast error it always asked me if I wanted to dl the toolbar instead of giving away points.

Basically Smarter Child is a bot to talk to on any instant messanger program.

I was using made up emails at the time. But now I use ??????@yahoo.com so that way when I do win I can create the account just in case. I wish I did that when I won the 360 thoo. Kinda worries me now.

You know can go into your account after the fact (once you win with some fakey email address) and then just change it to a real email address. I did that with my game 2-pack. But what I'm hoping is that they just send the damn things to the mailing address you gave and don't do anything with the email.

I saved the page and it definitely doesn't say you have to call, it just says to enter your info in the form and it will take 6-8 weeks. The only thing that made me raise an eyebrow was the (subject to verification) part, but they don't explain what that means...

Yeah, the verification thing is strange. Like I said before, they COULD go through all the entries and figure out who entered more than once a day and disallow those. This is one of the reasons I've stopped after getting the game pack. I'd hate to spend a bunch more time on this and get all the prizes taken away. (I still do 40-50 entries a day mostly just to try to get more points - those ought to be OK no matter what as you can already redeem them).

However, I think it would be somewhat of a pain to do all that verification and it probably isn't worth it for them especially on the faceplates and game packs (the 360 prizes may be a different matter though).

Well since you don't provide information of who you are until afterward, they wouldnt know it was the same person entering right? Even IP checks don't prove anything for sure, because what if you were at a library where people kept entering. (Extreme example maybe but you get the point) And none of this is robotic, so you should be in the clear as long as you have stuff shipped to different addresses. And if you'd like you could ship to mine.

When you call its just automated rules and how to play stuff, but you can talk to an operator. Good luck with the operator. They always speak the best English.

in case people weren't sure, i found a cool method to make things go a little more smoothly if you're trying 50 or more times a session:

1. go to your tools tab and select internet options
2. click on the content tab
3. click the autocomplete button
4. check all 3 boxes in the "use autocomplete for" section

after you've put in the verification codes and they start repeating themselves, the option to autocomplete them will pop down, just hit the down arrow and select the right code, and you'll save more time as you go, works great with the freebie code too!

just tried to put the 48 hour code they gave me in and when I activate it I get an error. It says it is valid and that the code I put in is for 48 hours of live then when it says activate or cancle i click activate. after that i get an error with some numbers to it.
Assuming you tried to enter it under "Shazo", your gamertag profile is already in "Gold" status. 48 hour codes only apply to silver users.

Assuming you tried to enter it under "Shazo", your gamertag profile is already in "Gold" status. 48 hour codes only apply to silver users.

A. There is a limit of one Grand Prize per person/address/household. There are no limits for the other prize levels.

Although as someone posted earlier, it also says: Limit one (1) online game play per person/email address per day.

Its still random though, I have 1400 points and 3 face plates. I stopped playing for several days because of a dry spell then won like 700 more points and two face plates with in a couple hundred tries.

its random, but if you enter a contest and you're 95 out of 100 entries (late night) vs 10 out 100 (daytime) i guess that means your odds are better?

It depends on several things. IF it is truly random, in that each entry has the same chance of getting a prize, then it makes no difference how many people are entering at any given time. The problem with that is that they will end up giving away many more prizes than they planned if more people do what we are doing. However, if they dole out X amount of each prize per hour (thus insuring they only give out as many as they planned to), then, yes, it clearly does matter how many people try to get it - not that you have less of a chance but that once the prizes are claimed for whatever time period they set up (1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, who knows?), no one else will get them. Maybe that's why we see such huge droughts occasionally? If we only knew *exactly* how they were doing this! ;)

This contest shows how futile it is to enter a contest where you can win a $2500 CC gift certificate or an Alienware computer or a Sony HDTV, etc. For most contests, you can only enter one entry per person. Here we are entering hundreds of times and it is still near impossible winning even the 2nd place prize for the 360 VIP package.

I was actually referring to the 2nd ( or was it 3rd time) you said you won a pack. So it was the 2nd time I asked - after you said you were stiffed the first time. It should be in your Private Message box if you happened to miss it

If im not mistaken you can just save the URL from the winning page.
I was going to do some of these at work, but our firewall has the work GAME blocked from all urls.
And the win results screen has the word game in it.
So as a test i did a couple and saved the urls.
sent it to me at home, did it there and they all came up fine.
even bookmarked the winning faceplate.
However, has anyone actually received any faceplates or game packs yet?

And in regards the stacking 48 hour trials, can you?

Yeah, no kidding. I just tried 5 times and won yet another fucking faceplate. I'm calling shenanigans on their "odds". I think they are pumping out way more of these than they said (maybe at the expense of other prizes to keep the overall odds the same?). Anyway, can't complain as this is all free and being exploited, but it is annoying to see that wonderful white screen come up only to have it be yet another faceplate. This one went to a CAG who was on my wait list. Any more will be offered here ;).

Limited myself to another 30-try run. Got 100 MS points on try number 28 ;). I've been playing in short bursts of no more than 20-50 tries a few times a day. I usually get at least a 100 point code out of it, not bad.

I have got 1500 codes. When my gold sub ends I plan on using them whenever I feel like playing. I think it will work fine. Whenever a new game comes out, put in code. Don't have to worry about wasting your subscription.

I've already used two for my son when we feel like playing Bomberman online. They work just fine, though they don't actually give you a gold account for the 2 days. You still show as silver, but are able to do whatever you would do normally online with gold. It just doesn't LOOK like it works at first ;).

yea... the 48 hour trials are limited. I tried to play Call of Duty 3 online. Worked fine when I was playing, but if I tried to bring a friend online with me, it wouldn't let them join with me!

The only problem with the 48 hour trials is that they don't give you full "Xbox Live Gold benefits." When the Crackdown demo came out I didn't have gold. I really wanted it so I used one of my 48 hour cards that they give away with games. Unfortunately that didn't work and I had to wait a week to get the demo. Still, for free online play for the next couple of years, I can wait a few days on demos.

Ah, I see, so you don't get all the benefits (which is why it still shows you as silver). You just get a trial of the online play (which is the most important part of course).

Anyways, my 20-50 try scheme doesn't *always* get me something - just did 60 (50 + an extra 10 just 'cause) and got nothing :cry:.
