What games might this be ideal on? Maybe I've been sleeping/missing this, but this seems like a pretty useless accessory for the DS.... the friends system is so messed up that the appeal of talking to the players I'm against seems... lost.

Definitely a must have for Elite Beat Agents if you're playing it outside or on a train where there's other people around, otherwise, unless that $7 is shipped, I'm out for this one as well.

The official headset is great, and at this price a fairly good deal, though IMO the Turtle Beach ones are better (albeit more expensive).

The thing I never liked about the official headset is that it only comes in white, and I have a black DS Lite. Well, there's also the fact that it only has mono sound. At this point, if I was really in need of a headset mic (which I'm not), I would just pay the extra cost to get the better, stereo headset that comes in all three DS Lite colors. It's not official, but everyone says they're better so meh.

The thing is a piece of crap, really. It just sort of hangs there on your ear, has awful sound quality... the mic works well, but not really any better than the built-in. I wouldn't buy it again at $2.

As for the headsets themselves, I bought a pair on the day Pokemon Diamond was released and at first thought they were the greatest things ever, until 5 minutes later when I realized that the mic quality of the game system itself was good enough. The earpiece is much too big and always feels like it's going to fall off, and the wire is so flimsy that my pair broke maybe 3 days after I got it because it snagged on something as I was pulling them towards me. I wasn't even tugging hard, either.

So yeah, I highly suggest you do NOT buy them, even at that price. Regular earbud headphones can work just as well(and are more comfortable) on the Nintendo DS and are much cheaper.
