We have a hotel room nearby and a few extra reservations. Its for serious.
I wont be beaten by some PS Triple owner.

I was trading my old digi camera, a dvd, and $20 in Amazon GC for DDR Universe 360 bundle and Viva Pinata CE(really only wanted DDR)

I was making him send first ( 5 feedback) so besides taking the stuff off my tradelist and losing potential trades i didnt lose anything else.
It was still a pain b/c he said he would ship out next weekend so i was waiting a week. Blah.

Oh, I hate that. I hate it even more when they're in the back and the window doesn't go down all the way. And so it gets on the window. And they roll it back up. Then they roll it back down and it gets down in crack of the window sill.

Now that there was sunlight out I could see all the damage that was caused.

Oh it was in the window sill, on the floor mats, along the side of the car, under the seat, and the worst was the little side compartment on the door. It was filled about 3 inches deep in puke. It took some thinking on how I was going to get that shit out, but I got a hold of a shop vac and sucked most of it up. Spent at least the last good hour and a half cleaning it, cuz the thought of it sitting there until late in the afternoon with 100+ temperatures just baking it into my car, I had to wash it.

Now I can't get the smell out of my head. I just got out of the shower so I know I'm so fresh and so clean, but I still smell the vomit. :puke:

300 is the one I'm most looking forward to, but I loved Sean of the Dead so Hot Fuzz is one I want to check out before too long.I'm debating about 300 being my first HD-DVD or BluRay purchase, though lots of people keep saying that I should get it on HD-DVD over BR. Problem is, no HD-DVD player yet, and I'm not sure if I want to spend money on the 360's HD-DVD drive versus using it towards a better player, like a Tosh XA20.

Mosquito "Skeeter" Valentine: He is Doug's best friend, he is rather off-beat and is famous in both versions of the series for his "honk honk" sound. Some fans think this is caused by some sort of autism or Tourette syndrome. Skeeter is from a blue-skinned family who lives in Bluffington. His dad has a foul temper but slow vocabulary, his mother is kind-hearted and rather meek, and he has a mischievous two-year old brother named Dale who once gave Doug a hard time when he babysat him. He also had an on-again/off-again relationship with rich girl Beebe Bluff and a crush on a girl by the name of Loretta. Skeeter helps Doug order from the popular Bluffington restaurant The Honker Burger (later demolished) in the series premiere (resulting in their friendship), and later helps him to learn to dance. He has a superhero alter ego by the name of Silver Skeeter, based on The Silver Surfer from Marvel, who helps Quailman, Doug's superhero alter ego, in several situations. It is revealed that Skeeter is a genius, gaining the respect of geeky twins Al and Moo Sleech. He is very laid-back and willing to take any situation in stride. His hobbies include air guitar, listening to The Beets, and hanging at the Honker Burger. It is often speculated by fans and critics of the show that Skeeter was African-American (due to his facial features), despite his blue skin. Skeeter was voiced by Fred Newman.

It's the Hyde Park Drive-In (http://www.hydeparkdrivein.com/schedule/) in Hyde Park, NY...it's about 30 mins away from my hizzy, but completely worth the drive.

Tickets are $7 for adults, and you get to see both movies...an amazing deal, I think. They even drop it to $5 on Tuesday nights, which is just a steal. It's dog friendly, too.

I wouldn't pay $10 to see the Simpsons or Die Hard, but I have no problem with paying $3.50...and I don't have to deal with the unwashed masses at the local 27 screen movie space-ark.

boy, i remember the days I used to make my significant other buy me stuff. Oh, how the tables have turned... well, not really, I just buy my own stuff and he buys his own stuff.

I read that 60% of engaged couple that live together share the same bank account... I think that it why so many relationships end in divorce. Money is a nice relationship killer. That's why it is always good to not mix funds. If Jonathan needs to get something at say the grocery store, I'll give him my debit card... therefore I see exactly how much he spent and where with my money. His money, whatever...

In the same article I read that 50% of the 60% that share bank accounts, have seperate credit card accounts. So this creates a nice way to hide just what money is being spent on. "Oh, dear, why'd you take 300 dollars out of the bank account?"
"To pay my credit card off." (for that one 300 dollar pair of shoes bought)
"Oh, ok." (no idea it was one purchase)

I have my own account, he has his own account. He has his own credit card... I haven't bothered with that yet. So in conclusion of my theory is that mixing funds, causes divorces... the end.

I forget what got me started but whatever.

I do the same for her.. we don't live together.. far from it, but I babied her the first 3 yrs of our relationship. As soon as she got a job she started doing the same things I did for her and I'm not complaining, but it's not outrageous things.. just mainly gaming things and a dinner here and there. She only pays for her school, so everything else she makes is just money to spend and lately I've had some pretty big bumps in the road with my mother and stuff so she's been glad to help out and all that. We take turns paying for movies when we go out, or take turns paying for dinner, and it really doesnt bother her... or atleast I dont think it does, especially cause she offers and what not. Most of our time is spent on weekends, her parents are insanely strict and uptight assholes and we usually only hang out twice a week or so... so it's not too bad. That does explain why I'm hardly ever going out with my friends, she's not the partying drinker or anything like that, and that's usually done on the weekends, so I choose to just hang out with her rather than my buddies... cause usually that's the only time I get to see her unless she stops by for a while after work or something too.

Happy b-day TFN. To celebrate you should have wild monkey sex with the gf and then post the video.

I'm grateful I am able to provide for him since he did the same for me when I wasn't working and I was going to school. Now he's working and about to get back into school (yay, he has orientation on Friday)... though we were expecting more financial aid since he is an independant and doesn't make much money. He got about the same I got when I was dependant under my parents from federal funds. I'll probably help him pay for that, but he's gotta figure out what he's going to do, past "maybe politics."
Anyways, he usually pays for his own games, and I'm really only handling the bills for him and food, which he did the same for me before I finished school. Though he is two years older he wasn't blessed with a stable home life to pursue college immediately like I was. So I'm further along in that part of my life.

She also helps me a lot due to the fact that even living here at home, I'm still pretty much on my own.. My mom lost EVERYTHING a year and a half ago.. and is still struggling to get back on her feet (she didnt go to college so finding a job was really tough for her age, 53) so I'm helping her out as well with rent/groceries/bills and also saving for school/a car instead of riding my bike everywhere. I blame my brother mostly though, he ripped my mom out of thousands and thousands of dollars, been in and out of jail since he was 16 (he's 25 now, which my mom ALWAYS got him out of, no matter the cost), and now he's finally stuck in jail and my moms still coughing up money for attorneys and what not.

It'll be cheaper than adding in one later, and no dongle to lose. Rest is stuff you're likely not going to care much for.

With XP, 1GB of RAM will be OK. For Vista, 2GB would be a much better idea.

If you're just going to use it for schoolwork, it'll do OK. Even some light gaming should be OK with it, though I wouldn't plan on anything too intense on it.

I hate working for Blockbuster for the sole reason that we have the most fucking complicated online service imaginable. Happy with Netflix? BB has the same service for a dollar cheaper. Want to exchange your mailer's in-store an unlimited number of times? K, pay $25 a month (same price as the 2-at-a-time movie pass before they just upped the price on that). $25 too expensive for you? K, pay $18 and only exchange 5 times a month and then if you want to exchange more, your game/movie rentals will just be half price instead of free. Yeah... by the time I get that sales pitch out, the customer will have already checked out and driven off. :bomb:

Why can't corporate stop beating around the bush and simply raise the price of the in-store exchange program to $25 and say "hey, you get a good deal out of us, but we can't make money at $18, so we're upping the price. If you don't like it, use our mail only program."

I believe the extra gig makes the video card work out much better since it doesn't share as much ram then and the card is much more powerful with two gigs. You'll probably be able to pick up a educational version of the Vista while you're in school, and RAM's much cheaper from someone else on the Internet than Dell.

Rest of the upgrades aren't needed for a laptop that you'll just use for schoolwork.

The only one I thought about getting was the battery upgrade.

Adding some RAM is something I would do after the paychecks start to roll in and I have some money in my account. If you're thinking about upgrading the battery, it'll depend on how long you'll want to be away from an AC outlet.

I'll tell you that buying the batteries after the initial purchase are painfully expensive. If you're thinking about it, and it'll be something you'll use, do it now.

Ram is definately something I am going to do later and I will buy it myself from somewhere like newegg. I can't see it being too much of a pain in the neck to install.

And since the battery is only 40 dollars more I think it would be worth it. I don't think I will be away from outlets all that much in class, but in some classrooms it is a PITA to find a seat near an outlet.

The only one I thought about getting was the battery upgrade.

Adding some RAM is something I would do after the paychecks start to roll in and I have some money in my account.

I might just copy your configuration because I need a laptop for college too.

Is there any significant difference between the screens?

It'll be much more than that later, without question, even for a 3rd party battery.

The TrueLife is the "glossy" screen you'll see with some laptop displays, which give better contrast and more vivid-looking colors. Though, it seems, it doesn't deal with light glare nearly as well as a non-glossy screen.

WXGA = 1200 x 800 screen resolution
WSXGA+ = 1650 x 1080 screen resolution
WXGA+ = 1440 x 900 screen resolution

I think I am going to go with the regular screen plus truelife. I think that res will be perfect for most games, allowing for a decent FPS. Most of the games I am going to play are going to be old Monolith games, games based on the Unreal 2.5 engine (Brothers in Arms, Unreal 2004, etc), and stuff like Deus Ex. Those games for the most part are not resource heavy so they should run well.

What would you recommend if the laptop was used for light gaming? If you can spend the money on the 8600GT, it'll help out with more graphics-intensive games. Not something you could easily add later. 8400GS should work OK with older stuff.

Larger the resoultion, the smaller the info will look on-screen, so that might be something you can go to a retail store and see what the differences are in-person. I run WUGXA on a 15.4" display, so I'm a screen real estate whore. :D The resolution for the panel is its native res, so it would be what looks best. You can always decrease the resolution, though it'll look pixelated as it downsamples to the lower resolution.

Well, Best Buy had 0 of 4 PSP games I wanted.

Gamestop gave me $68 dollars for the 8 DS games. I bought a Game Informer card thing, since it got me like $2 extra on trade ins and $5 a new game (Gitaroo Man for PSP for $15, yay for first PSP game), so it really only cost $8, which I'll make up in a year, I'm sure.

Ended up with $37 and Gitaroo Man, as well as a GI Sub, for the 8 DS games. Sounds good.

I did a balance transfer option with the card I now have and have a 7.9% APR that won't change. Current balance transfer is 0% APR for the first year after transfer.
