Big Daddy Figurine Issue
08 / 20 / 2007

2K Games has identified a small percentage of Big Daddy figurines that have been damaged in transit to US and Canadian retailers. We are in the process of setting up a replacement program to ensure customers who are affected by the damaged figurines are issued replacement figurines as quickly as possible.

Since redemption will not be immediate as replacement figurines are currently beginning production, we will be also sending affected customers a complimentary special printed edition of the BioShock art book, "Breaking the Mold," to enjoy while the replacement figurines are produced and shipped. Additionally, 2K Games will cover all shipping costs for the figurines and art book.

Please check back at this page shortly for details on how to obtain a replacement figurine. We apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced.

Why do I have a feeling the "small percentage" of broken figures will turn into 100% broken figures. I could definitely see people breaking their perfect figures to get a replacement AND the art book. :lol:

The photos are pretty clear (albeit a little small) but you can still read the entire article with little difficulty. Credit for the photos go to diablokiller18 and P0kie but I moved the photos to TinyPic so both of our forums don't kill their bandwith. I would have used thumbnails but I don't know how to with TinyPic (ImageShack is down for me).

I would put a spoiler tag on the OP. I started reading the first review, and now I've already found out how the protagonist makes his way to rapture. I've been trying to keep myself in the dark for the plot line, so I skipped the rest of the review and just looked at the pictures. I'm already happy with my preorder at Liongames, after seeing these pictures. What was the playtime of the mainquest for Oblivion? I haven't beaten that yet, so I doubt I will have the time to beat this game all the way through.

I don't usually pre-order games anymore, but for some reason this game is just giving me good vibes so I put 20 on the LE at gamestop. I only own Oblivion, Gears of War and Viva Pinanta so far for the 360.But Deus Ex invisible war was one of my favorite games for the xbox and from the screens/info this looks to be similar in the / open ended / weapn upgrades/fps hybrid. I've never played System shock ..but if i was a fan of Invisible War should it be safe to assume I will like BioShock? Either way the game looks amazing and I can't wait

MGS4 is almost guaranteed to come to the 360 at some point. MGS2 came to the X-box even though it had a minuscule user base compared to the PS2.

Now they'll have to port it just to make a decent profit given the crappy PS3 sales.

I've always wondered how they measure playtime for games like this. Just seems like a number randomly pulled out of someone's ass. All I know is I usually take much longer than the estimates, so if it's truly 20 hours I'll be busy for quite a while.

I don't think so. it's not really meant to be played MP. they probably wanted to focus on the single player mode instead of having to worry about MP, which would be deserted in a month thanks to Halo 3.

Well effectively you can play through it twice, or three times fully and wind up with a different experience/ending. All of that relies upon the Little sisters. But still, I'm sure I'll get my money's worth on this.

You and me both. That's why I never finish the GTA or Spiderman games. Darkness took me a while. Deus Ex took me over a week because I just went everywhere.

If it's a game that you feel will drop in value, just sell it early and pick it up in a later clearance. I also will be buying this on Day 1. Haven't paid full price for a game since Halo 2 and I feel Bioshock will also be worth every penny.

If the playtime numbers are true it will be a rental for me. The pacing doesn't appear to be something that will convince me to play through multiple times, and it kills me to pay ~60 for a 10 hour game when I can save that ~60 for 40+ in mass effect or AC.

Giving you a summary of what this game is about isn't enough to sell you on it. This game is a must buy mostly because of who is making it, and their past games. Just go look up reviews of System Shock 1 and 2. Then ask around for people that played System Shock's and ask them how memorable they were.

The premise of the game is just icing. The talent and ambition behind it are what will make it an amazing game.

i believe 20hrs is consider long for a fps... it is not a true rpg but have rpg elements...upgrades.

rpgs are usually rated to be 40-50+hrs long but fps are around 10-15hrs... so 20hrs is long and don't for get to play through it twice so more like 40hrs.

Yes it is that good, the story is fine, it's the atmosphere that makes the game.

EDIT - Sorry a bit OT there, to pull it back I've had Bioshock pre-ordered from Lion Games for a while and it looks like a good choice.

Once i get BioShock, me and my other friend are going to pull and all nighter playing BioShock. This game will take me a while to complete b/c they said on average it would be 15-20 hours of gameplay. i just wish it didnt come out 2 weeks before school starts :(

Oooh I'm definitely interested in those gamerpics. This is my most anticipated game of the year. Loved the theme so much that I finally broke down and bought it. There is a 50+ page thread on the official forums that thinks the surprise is a demo. ;). I'd think its not going to be that cool though, probably along the lines of fleshed out Downloadables or what have you-- or that right now you can get a bioshock picture pack for free or something.

Either way, little over a week now until we can play the full game :)

Edit: Actually now that I'm thinking about it-- I wouldn't be surprised that there is a PS3 announcement.

You're right-- I did a little digging since I've got nothing to do today-- and from what I've read, it does SEEM VERY LIKELY that there is a demo being released. I followed some links around, and it looks like TXB has the best thread about it.

Someone posted the entirety of the trailer we are to see tonight on youtube--the videos have since been removed but those who have seen it state that the last bit after the trailer says: Download the Demo now!

I will put the answers in the spoiler since some people might not want to know on the length of the game it felt like it could last people anywhere from 10 minutes to 20, since there are places where some gamers might want to just check out all the stuff on the wall and on the floor, the demo is different from the e3 demo. It tells you more about the game and how the character came to get there.

Wow, totally worth the download if you're on the fence. I LOVE the way that fire works in this game-- It just works so well! The plasmids feel really good.

My favorite moment of my first playthrough: I lit up a splicer (who was screaming "IM GOOD LOOKING!!!") and he ran to the John to try and douse the flames, some unsavory character left a bottle of Whiskey on the seat...BOOM!
