Ok, so I am looking to renew my Xbox Live Gold membership, and was looking on ebay, yet majority of the auctions say "For NEW Accounts only, not renewals". How can you tell which cards work for renewals versus new accounts?
A little help would be greatly appreciated!

Anything that says 'for new accounts only" is a scam. I've purchased from this guy (http://myworld.ebay.com/jasper1675/) before and he's legit. Of course, that's also why there isn't much of a discount. If you need one right away he's your best choice, otherwise you're better off waiting for a deal in store somewhere.

I don't think you can RENEW with a card. Renewal is 49.99 and is done automatically.
You can call and cancel your membership and then buy a new card to create a new tag.
From all the posts about renewals, I'd not waste my time and just spend the extra money for auto-renewal.

You can renew just fine with a card, not only does it work it explicitly lists renewals on the back. Many people don't like to give MS their credti card information and make all their transaction through prepaid cards. Please don't spread misinformation and FUD.
