I think it was $25 a while back when it was DOTD
For those that missed it at the CC clearance, I suppose so.

Clearance means it will remain at that price and won't be restocked once all copies are gone. It's definately a better alternative if you can't find it anymore at Circuit City.

hmmm, may bite, I didn't know CC had it on sale, what's the price over there?

Thanks OP. Don't have a CC in my area, so this works great for me!

$17 plus tax (of course). That's where I got mine.

And the eternal question for those who have played it: is this any good?
Hypothetical audience: played parts of a few FF games, enjoyed Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime.

Game's price over at Circuit City is $16.96, but that's if you can find it since it's on clearance.
As for if the game's good...
MetaCritic: 75/100
IGN: 8.3/10
GameSpot: 8.0/10
Game Rankings: 75% out of 100%
The reception's been positive.

Check out a 3 minute review on the Foreplay Podcast #8, at 12:30 through 15:44. Shipwreck liked it, Mrs Shipwreck doesn't. Ship said it was short. It has a lot of simple mini-games.

Nah it was definitely $20. Amazon isn't that bad, come on now.
Since its a repeat I think I'll continue the CAG waiting process. Wish I could've gotten one at CC during the 25% off week. $17 + tax wasn't a very attractive price to me.

Definately NOT WORTH IT!
I'll admit, the first hour or so is enjoyable, but then you realize how unbalanced the game is. Simple mini games are made INSANELY frustrating because either the stylus controls aren't really responsive or the design is bad. Furthermore, it can get a little repetitive because you have to complete the mini games multiple times on numerous difficulties (or reach certain goals) if you want to be rewarded.
The tasks of certain mini games are NO JOKE either (which was surprising to me because I thought this game was aimed for kids!) i.e. if you want to get gold in one game you have to have quick reflexes and great recognition in order to tap the screen on certain spots in accordance to the directions that are given out. Sounds simple enough right? NOT WHEN YOU HAVE TO COMPLETE 3 SETS IN UNDER 16 SEC W/O MAKING ONE MISTAKE! For those who have played the game already, you know which micro game I'm talking about.
While you could enjoy the game without trying to complete everything, if you're a hardcore gamer you'll most certainly be pulling out your hair trying to 100% complete all the minigames in Chocobo Tales.

Let me say this.
"Hardcore gamer" and "mini-games" don't seem to blend well together when said in the same sentence.

In for one. I have a couple weeks left on my free month of Prime and I need to use it on something.

Picross (DS) the graphic is outdated but the gameplay is kickass. Chocobo tales is good game too but not worth $20 in my book. I scored sealed copy at local CC for $12.70 after 25% off sale :)
CC have it on clearance for $17 plus taxes or it'll be cheaper if next 25% off sale popup anytime.

As much as I like the minigames in this title, the underlying card battle game is too frustrating. No matter how skilled you become at the card game it's still always 'luck of the draw' as to whether you're going to win or not.
