I've run into so many dead ends. I'm looking for something to convert M4V to WMV. Anyone have a program that they are using for this?

Hmm... You can try this freeware I got. Its called Videora. I think it lets you go both ways.

Nope, this program seems to be pretty worthless.

It's been quite a while since I've done a conversion... but I've used iriverter to convert video podcasts to AVI in order to see them in my Zen Vision:M.

Here's the link: http://iriverter.thestaticvoid.org/

what are you wanting to play the avi on?
I would't think the quality would be much good for anything with a larger screen than the ipod.

Check videohelp.com, lots of good info there.

I want to view the files on the 360. Isn't .avi one of the accepted file formats?

I haven't tried any iTunes format music with this yet, but it seems pretty solid. Try Cheetah Audio Converter, I'm 99% positive it's freeware(otherwise I don't know how I'd have it). Let me know if that works for you.

.AVIs will NOT play on the 360, you'll need to go with .wmv if you want to do that.

I use handbrake or compressor to transfer video files... but they are both on Mac.

I updated my OP...I want WMV and didn't even know it.

Does anyone know if you NEED to have a Windows media center PC to stream videos, or can you with XP?

WinAVI converter is what I use when I want to watch something (usually porn) on the 360.

Dunno where you can get a free version though.

actually all you have to do is download the optional media update from xbox live and you can play your itunes video stuff without the need to convert. if you want to know how to also steam it to your 360, i use tversity and since avi is not a proper format for the 360 the program will actually convert on the fly to wmv format. however it eats up your cpu usage, but then again i'm on my 360.
