Ok, these are the RE games I have
(NGC) Resident Evil 0
(NGC) Resident Evil 1
(NGC) Resident Evil 2
(NGC) Resident Evil 3
(NGC) Resident Evil 4
I understand theres loads more, but am confused on which versions to get. According to wikipedia, Code Veronica X is the next one Im missing, to complete the main story. But wasnt there 2 versions? One on the PS2 and GC? Didnt one of them have a bonus disc? Was that wesker report?
Where am I supposed to find Weskers Report II? Are Outbreak/Outbreak 2 only for PS2? Yeah..

I think I have a few answers, but I'm not sure.
Wesker's Report from what I know only came in a special bundle in Japan. It was a compilation of all the RE games up to that point (I believe) and included that as a special DVD. So it's going to be hard to run by a physical copy.
Outbreak 1/2 are PS2 only, and those should be the online games, which are useless to buy because I'm guessing no one plays them. If the servers aren't shut down now, they probably will be soon.

The bonus disc with Code Veronica X for PS2 was a Devil May Cry demo. Outbreaks are only on PS2 as far as I know. You might as well get Code Veronica for GC since you have the others for gamecube as well

Wesker Report only came with preorders for the PS2 game.
Code Veronica X is on GC and PS2, both are ports of the Dreamcast game with added cinemas.
0-4 and Code Veronica are all you need really.
There are Gameboy games, online games, shooters (Survivor and Dead Aim) but nobody cares about them.

Ok, so Weskers Report is in neither of the Code Veronica versions? I know you said to get the GC version, but does the PS2 version offer something better? Does the GC version also contain the bonus disc? I'm planning on getting all the PS2 RE's, as well.

PS2 Code Veronica X (Original pressing) has a Devil May Cry bonus disc.
PS2 CV X (Greatest Hits) has no bonus disc.
Gamecube Code Veronica X has no bonus disc.

Keeping in mind CVX for PS2 is a hell of a lot cheaper than the GC version.
And yes, the Outbreak games are for PS2 only.
Dead Aim is a good game...short but fun. Supports light gun which was cool.

I know the GC version is supposed to be a bit better than the PS2 version. IIRC, the PS2 version had some port issues, had colors that weren't as good, etc. Point is, the best version of all the RE games is the GC versions, except for RE4 (Wii version is best.)

Not trying to confuse the matter even further, but I probably will.
Is the GC port of RE2 a port of the ps1 RE2, or the N64 RE2. I remember the N64 RE2 having some extra content.
To the OP: Get Code Veronica on the Cube, cos you already have all the other cube RE games. Plus you can play them all on the Wii.

aside from the rarity of them are resident evil 2 and 3 for the gamecube worth owning if youve already played them both on the ps1? ive been considering getting the other 3 resident evil games for the gc but is it a worthy buy ?

nope, only RE1 really got a boost the rest are ports. Its nice if you want the full RE collection on one console but aside from that pretty pointless imo

If you lucky you can find RE: Code Veronica (GC PC version) for $10 Checklane item :)

RE 2 & 3 for the Cube got a reprint from GQD. They are not rare. Just overpriced. I see them in almost every EB/GS I go into.
Get em if you want to have every RE game on one system, but do NOT get them thinking they are rare or valuable.

RE2 and RE3 are just ports of the PS1 version. At the very least they could have ported RE2 from the DC (the best version AFAIK) but they didn't.

good to know. nah i was thinking of getting them but i couldnt imagine paying as much for them as people seem to want. i may get re outbreak1/2 at some point even without the online stuff itd be cool to see how they went with the story there. but i had cv for the dreamcast and ive got the japanese version of re 3 for the ps1 and i had re2. i woudlnt mind finding them again though because re 2 was an awesome game. sucks those games didnt get a cleaned up version either with re 4 graphics or with the re remakes level graphics.

I don't know if the Dreamcast version is any better than the Gamecube version, but I did like the fact that you could see your health status in the Dreamcast's lcd VMU.
I would recommend just getting the Gamecube version of Code Veronica X since you already have most of the best Resident Evil games already on that system.

IIRC, unlike the GC version, the DC version didn't run at 60fps and didn't have the clipping issues fixed like the GC version did.

It has a movie viewer, art gallery thing, more difficulties and I think something else...can't really remember since I don't own it but I remember reading about it.

I'm now lost as well after stumbling upon this thread thinking that I could help.
I remember hearing that the GC ports of RE2 and 3 are essentially the same as the DC versions of those games. That would make the GC versions essentially ports of ports. Unfortunately I haven't had either of the DC versions in years so I really can't check.

I own the DC version & that's pretty much all that was different compared to the PS1 dual shock version. Although you could access Extreme Battle Mode, Hunk & Tofu from the main menu. Plus those 3 modes didn't take up extra space like the PS1 version did(DC version saves the unlocked stuff to the setting save).
The sound is not as good as the PS1 version, there's minor sounds that you can barely hear in the DC version that was loud in the PS1 version. It's obvious on the trip down to the lab on side B, the boss doesn't scream & makes a different muted sound in the DC version.

dont forget the GAME.COM version of Resident Evil 2
theres also Resident Evil for the the sega saturn. thats a bit expensive though to get. are you just looking to get all the gamecube versions? you might as well look for the Resident Evil boxsets that capcom released. theres 2 of them. actually going to be 3rd theres a new one coming (but for the Ps2).
