Sorry if this has been posted already... EB Games has a pretty good trade-in deal for Madden 2005. Similar to the ESPN 2K5 deal, they're giving $10 credit for trade-in games. Here's the deal though: I traded in Haven (CC), Pac-Man Fever (BB from a few months ago), NFL Blitz 2003 and NCAA March Madness 2003. I got $40 off Madden for those crappy games!

They did indeed take them. As a matter of fact, the guy behind the counter was - and I kid you not - GIDDY about the deal. He seemed more happy about it than I was! Anyway, he mentioned something about the company cutting its excluded list by more than half. They did NOT accept these games: NFL Fever 2002, NBA 2K2 and NCAA Football 2K3. Seems weird that they took the others, but hey, I wasn't going to question it!

Just to clear this up, $10 for each trade-in game, right?

I would be pretty happy trading in 3 games and getting Madden for $20 since I cant get ESPN on the Gamecube for $20. Only problem is Im not sure If I can part with 3 games. Of the $5 games I got a CC, the only one Im willing to part with is Medal of Honor Frontline. I've got a couple other games but I doubt they'd fetch the $10.

When I traded in for ESPN 2k5 the guy (looked like a greenhorn) didn't even bother to scan my games or check in the case or anything. I found it odd as they are usually strict when it comes to trade-ins, looks luike the new guy may not last long.

Just so you know ESPN is not offered on the GameCube ...

So assuming you have a stash of $5 games lying around you can get ESPN for $10 and Madden for $30? Not bad at all - does this apply to the pimped out Madden only for PS2 or is it just for the regular versions?

well no I'm pretty sure the skys the limit on Madden, it sounds like if you had 5 games to trade in it's free.

Does this apply to any other games? i got a bunch of crappy CC games that are not doing it for me, and I hate hate Madden, it's all about the ESPN in my house.

What's the ESPN deal? I would rather have that.

They had a deal for pre-orders that you could trade in 2 games and get 2k5 for free, but I'm not sure it still applies now. I know there was one post in another thread that said that the offer goes to the end of the month, but you may need to call your store to see, and of course, there are certain exclusions to the deal.

The trade in 2 get ESPN Free deal runs until the end of the month. It is in EB's Summer Sale flier printed as a coupon. Also the Madden deal is indeed trade 5 and get free. If you have 5 eligable games you could get Madden 2005 for free.

Is Madden the only game this deal works for? Or would it work for a game like Fable?

Fable trade in 2 games and get 20 toward it.

I highly doubt that'll work, I truly do.

Ya its basically anything that isnt an old sports game(all the Nhl 2003 and Nascar 2003 seem to work though), there are few exceptions that i know of (ex. Starsky and Hutch, Socom One) but haven, powerpuff girls, and lots of other crappy games count

I'm not sure how exactly those exclusions apply. Like I said, I was surprised they took those sports games AND Haven (and glad I actually had held onto them). Anyways, I believe it works for any version of Madden. I'll be on XBOX, and my gamertag is Lyric706. I'm making the switch from PS2 to XBOX this year... hope the different controller doesn't screw me up!

The only problem I foresee with the controller is the placement of the Black and White buttons. You could always get a controller converter, but meh. ;)

Gee, trade in 4 games to get Madden 2005 for $10. Or keep the 4 games, buy ESPN NFL 2K5 for $20, and just wait till next year when madden 2005 is being sold for $10. I think I will wait.

Good idea daphatty. But I'm a football nut, so the same day I pre-ordered Madden, I bought ESPN at BB for $14.99 (GGC). I love both series, and I'm ending up spending $24.99 plus tax out-of-pocket to have both. Oh, and I had to give up those four games. I'll miss them (sniffle, sniffle), but somehow, I'll survive without them.

The EB I went to was at Sarasota Crossings on US-41 and Clark Road. From Tampa, it's about an hour drive, but I work in Bradenton, so I just went while I was down here. I don't know if there were any other games that were a part of this deal. This was just something they told me about on the phone, so I went in and did it.
