So one of my package took too longer to deliver, and the buyer file a paypal claim and won. A few days later the item got delivered. Is there anything I can do?

If you have online tracking, you can prove it was delivered. But then again, if you had online tracking, you'd still have your money. So I don't think there's anything you can do.

Delivery Confirmation is like 75 cents. You should use it with every single package you ship.

try disputing the claim with paypal, you might have to phone them

EDIT: provide them with the tracking number assuming you have it

I did have tracking number. However it wasn't delivered until paypal already took the money from me.

Was the tracking number online trackable? If not, it's not good enough. If it is, you messed up the dispute process.

Paypal only cares about online trackable numbers, like Delivery Conformation.

Here's how the dispute process works.

1) Buyer files dispute with PayPal that they didn't get their item.
2) Paypal removes the funds from the seller and asks for proof of shipment.
3) Seller responds to dispute with the online tracking number.
4) PayPal checks the tracking, seller wins, money is returned to the seller.

OR

3) Seller responds to dispute without an online tracking number
4) PayPal awards in the favor of the buyer, money is returned to the buyer.

it has Delivery Conformation since i printed the label from paypal. The problem is the DC# showed the item as not deliver during the claim.

Here's what I'd do

1. Contact the buyer and ask them to repay you since they did get the item after the PayPal dispute was closed. I'd say something like you understand they had to file with PayPal to protect themselves, but the mail was simply delayed outside of your control and you expect to be repaid for the item purchased. I'd probably chop off the S+H portion of the total to allow for the delay in shipping, even though it wasn't in my control, blah blah.

I'd probably give them a day or two to respond to that.

2. Contact PayPal and explain this situation and ask if the refund can be reversed. (I wouldn't count on that one.)

3. If the buyer won't repay and PayPal won't reverse the refund I'd send a more forceful e-mail to the buyer and then file mail fraud on the guy unless this is for an amount too small to fool with something like that over.

I'd be curious to know the timing of these things. How many days after payment was the dispute filed. How many days after that was the claim closed by PayPal. How many days after that did the DC show delivery. Did you reply to the dispute with the DC# and a request that PayPal wait a bit to see if it is eventually delivered?

I'd want to give things at least 3-4 weeks after mailing before issuing a refund, to allow for cases just like this where mail is delayed.

I don't understand how it was possible for them to end the claim if Paypal looked up your tracking number and it showed that it was mailed and was on it's way.

You did respond to the dispute and give Paypal the tracking number, correct?
