Ok I resent mine out today. My previous was returned to sender because I didn't have enough postage ( Took 2 months for them to send it back Arghhh! ). This time I tossed 3 stamps on it. No way it's coming back again :)

I cut the UPC off of the Toshiba HD A2 box and I left the card board on the UPC. I didn't think it would be more then one stamp but I was wrong. The only reason i put 3 was because of my luck there would be a BS not enough postage return to sender again.

Mine finally came today from my xbox 360-add on purchase. I sent it in early September. All DVDs I ordered came in albiet with big slashes through the UPC's on 3 of the discs, but at this point I'm just happy they showed up.

Both were mailed on the same day. One from a 360 add-on, one from an HD-A2. I think the 360 ones came, but I forget which was which.

Well I sent in my rebate form from the 360 add-on around October 30. I called yesterday for the first time and I couldn’t have been more disappointed in the service. They said that my order was entered into their system on November 26. So it sat in a pile of mail for almost a month. Excuse for this was that the offer was very popular and they had more people send in rebates than they thought they would. I asked what happened after they entered into their system she said it started processing.

What processing is I have no clue.

Then on she said I was approved on December 9th for the rebate. I said December 9th was a Sunday. She said they work 7 days a week on processing. I said that’s pretty good.

Then I asked why it had not shipped. She said they had been waiting for some more movies to come in and that they were all there now and I will get every movie I requested. I said that sounds great so my movies will be shipped soon.

She said she had no idea when they would be shipping, but once they were shipped it would take 3-4 weeks for me to receive them. I asked her where they were shipping them from and she said Minnesota. I could walk to Minnesota in 3 weeks. I assume this shipping timeframe is a BS amount they just tell people.

I asked her why I even called. She told me nothing that I didn’t know other than they had actually received and approved my offer, which I kind of guessed they had since it has been 12 weeks. She could tell me why it might take 4 more weeks to put my movies in a box and get them to me or what exactly happens during 7 weeks or BS processing.

I asked her if all orders were handled first come first serve and she said they were. I talked to her supervisor just to see if I could peg down a more firm idea of when my movies would arrive and she said to call back in a month and check.

Most rebates I have filled out in the past say 8-10 weeks and they take maybe a month. This seems unorganized and not very well thought out. She did tell me I should have them by April but she couldn’t guarantee that. Oh she also said there are no supervisors there on the weekends in the call center.

I felt lied to and worse than I did before I called.

Sure its free but if you say 8-10 for a simple task like reading three documents, putting 5 movies in a box and sending them out via the slowest mail service available you should be able to accomplish it in under 12-13 weeks.

I will actually call Toshiba next week to see what the deal is.

I know some have gotten them sooner and others have gotten them in 20 weeks so its kind of a BS system they have over there.

That was discussed earlier (somewhere). Dunno how far back though or even if it was in this particular thread. Might have been DVDTalk or another forum.

IIRC, that PO box was closed down and the rebates RTS'ed. Someone ended up calling in and they (1 or 2) were given a new PO box to send the form to. I don't know what happened after that whether or not they got the TMNT or not. I didn't chance it (sent in the original form) when I sent mine in after New Years. I'm hoping to have it by summertime.:bomb:

That's correct the receipt must be dated through 2/28 but you have until 3/31 to send it in.

Got mine on 1/31/08 when it got shipped out on 1/22/08. Thanks to WB going blue, making BR the unofficial winner of this war...all these discs are worthless to me. Out of all the discs, only HULK had a sticker covering the UPC and it was under the shrink wrap not over it :( Charlie and the Chocolate factory looked like it had been damaged and there was a rip through part of the lower front cover. :(

Kept the Hulk, got rid of the rest.

I got my 5 today (Feb. 2nd) and had sent in the rebate in November. I never received a delay postcard or anything like that. I had actually forgot about these and was actually surprised when I opened the envelope. Of the 5 I received, both Hulk and Frighteners had a groove carved through the UPC on the back. Looked like somebody took a key and dug into the case to scratch it. Hulk was loose in the case and had some scuffs on it from this, which also irritated me. I guess I should just be happy I got these at all, but the length of time it took was pretty unimpressive.

I sent two out in november. Received one of my packagaes back in a gashed envelope. All movies were fine, some had stickers over the UPS, but they came off easy enough. The stickers should not effect you unless you are trying to return/scam these.

I had to return something at the local BB last week and there was a couple in front of me in line that had 5 sealed HD-DVDs they were trying to return. The clerk asked for a receipt and they said they didn't have one. So the clerk asks them "did you get those via the rebate?" and the people are like "yes, we want to return them". The clerk says she didn't think they would accept them, but she would ask a manager, of course the manager takes forever to come over and when he finally does show up he wont let them return it. Just a really odd sight. I'm not saying I condone trying to return these this way, but wouldn't you just tell them you got them as a gift instead of saying you got them via rebate. I mean, did they really think they would accept them as a return? Insane...

That said I'm still waiting for my HD-DVDs... :cry:

The UPC should be where the serial number is. Never is there an item with no UPC unless is a promotional item and even then, with an electronic device, its blocked off with white sticker or something.

If you bought it from store, how would store ring up the A3 if there was no UPC? The UPC is on the same sticker as the serial.

I recieved mine on 2/2/08 with a gash in The Frighteners UPC and white sticker on Darkman. Luckily I got the XBOX HD-DVD player during the Best Buy promotion where you got Heroes SE 1 for free along with King Kong and (2) free from the store that were suppose to be under $35. But since I got not-so-smart employees I ended up with Planet Earth as one of them, took Transformers with the other.

So even though it seems dead soon, at least I didn't get screwed too bad.

What movies did you order? I think the old orders are being shipped once they receive the right movies. I got mine a few weeks ago but others are still waiting. It has to be due to one of the movies not being in stock or limited supply. I think the same thing is happening with the Blu-Ray movies.

They do say in the fine print that the DVDs are being offered "...while supplies last." So they can just claim they are out of ones for the promotion and end it with that.

Wouldn't be the best thing to do with a bunch of upset customers, but....

I forget how Amazon's receipts work but as long as you get a printout with the date marked before 2/28, I'm sure you'll be good. Then on the other hand, its pretty close to deadline and the offer does states "while supplies last", not sure what kind of truth behind the statement there is but its there.

I mailed off my summer promo rebate back at the end of August and just got the fourth movie in the mail this past Monday. Probably won't be getting any more since they sent me two copies of Apollo 13... it's not even worth the hassle to try to get it corrected at this point.

I'm not expecting my second promo to come through till sometime late, late spring if at all.

Probably won't be getting any more since they sent me two copies of Apollo 13... it's not even worth the hassle to try to get it corrected at this point.

I'm not expecting my second promo to come through till sometime late, late spring if at all.

Do you still have a copy of that first promo? There was a 1-800 # on the bottom in the fine print. Start calling it every 2-3 days. I started doing that and got my movies within a week. I'll see if I can find the number. When they answer the number they say "Microsoft" but it's that fulfillment company's call center.

I already own an A2, but I am really considering grabbing an A3 from CC for $99 just for the free movies.
My local CC has about 10 A3's in stock (with the 2 movies in the box). So we're talking 7 movies with a steady ebay value of about $10 each.
Problem is, I don't have a lot of confidence in Toshiba fulfilling the rebates at this point. Considering it takes normally 4 mos. to fulfill the order, who knows if these discs will still be available 4 mos. from now.

Actually, I realized I was looking at the US one. Some better movies for Canada (Freedom Writers, Syriana, TMNT, etc.) but you have to pay $10 shipping and handling. Yaaaaaaay.

Fedex doesn't deliver to PO boxes, which is what the rebate address is.

EVERYONE, if in doubt, just go to the Post Office on Monday and ask them to hand stamp it for you when you reach the counter. That will make it postmarked on the 31st. It might take up some of your time to wait in line, but this way you will be 100% certain that it will have the postmark you need.

Just got my package today, so about a 13 1/2 week turnaround. The guy lied to me though and I didn't get all the movies I picked.
I did get Swordfish and The Italian Job but the other three were; Alexander Revisited: The Final Cut, The Departed and Streets
of Fire(wtf?). Never even heard of Streets of Fire. Haven't seen Departed or Alexander before but they look to be better choices
then what I had picked. Only Streets of Fire had the UPC slashed. All the others are mint. Overall I'm pretty happy with what I got.

Streets of Fire is an odd fish of a movie, sort of an action musical, and while it doesn't quite work, it does have a very distinctive look, both visually and edit wise...and Dafoe looks like a relative of the bat boy despite not having much makeup beyond a ton of hair gel. It is the sort of movie that you shouldn't think too hard about and just sit back and enjoy the ride. While it isn't everyone's cup of tea, you could have done alot worse and gotten something like Firewall instead

Born on the Fourth of July was actually a really good movie and Alexander has high marks for its picture quality. Plus, both were directed by Oliver Stone.

I received a letter stating I didn't include the proper UPC. I bought an HD A35 and cut out the huge square with all of the bar codes because it doesn't say which one is the real UPC. I have until May 10th to send it back. Anyone have any clue which one I should use? I can't believe they are being a pain in the ass about this. There is not a single barcode left on my box. I sent them all.

The bar code should have been a sticker with the serial number. You shouldn't have had to cut it out at all. You should have been able to peel it off. Look on the sides of the box. I've sent three rebates in and the UPC was always there.

I don't know what to tell you, I carefully cut out and stapled the UPC, receipt, and form, sent them in, and had it sent back with everything un-stapled and the UPC missing, stating that I failed to include the UPC. I was quite unhappy, but there was very little I could do since they insist you send in the original UPC. My personal guess is that they really didn't care that much by the time I'd sent it in since it was already obvious that their format had lost. Hopefully you'll have better luck, but at this point I wouldn't hold my breath...

Pro-tip:
I now make a scan or copy of the whole submission and put it in a rebate file I have.
I have started doing this ever since LeXar screwed me on a lexar-pro 8GB CF card rebate, it was an $80 dollar rebate I got screwed out of and I know damn well I included everything on time.

To top it all off the POS card died in less than a month and then I couldn't exchange it (no UPC). Luckly, this kick ass wolfcamera employee heard me warning another customer about the whole deal and let me swap out my dead card for one they had, he said he would just return the defective one in box to lexar.

I was denied the 5 blu rays except I didn't send in the upc.I sent in the serial code thing that was next to the upc that also had a barcode.My stupid reasoning was that the probably wanted to upc looking thing that was unique to my purchase,not the regular upc that is on every ps3.By the time I received the letter I had already threw out the box.In the end though its no big deal,not like we paid extra or something for them....

I was also denied a rebate, I believe it was for $10 for a memory card. I bought two memory cards and I sent one of the rebates to my parents house who live 5.5 north of me. They received the other rebate just fine. The other one stated that I did not include the proof of purchase when I know I did.

I will not support Lexar products unless it's dirt cheap like $2 for a memory card that's 8GB or even a TB! HAHAHA!!!

Yeah that's actually the point of the rebates - to make people feel like xxtheycallmedxx and still get the sale. The manufacturers know that a good amount of people will buy the product because of the incentive and then either forget about sending in the rebate or send it in and not be pissed/forget when they don't get it. It works.

That's why I try not to count on rebates anymore and only buy something if I'm good with the price it's already at.

I still remember the bad old days of rebates when places like CompUSA would just throw all submissions in the garbage and not honor any of them. I make copies of everything when I buy things with rebates nowadays.

Well, when they return the rebate request, they extend your deadline and give you a new address to send the request to, so that's the best recourse from there. Calling them will only net you information you already know: that you've been denied.

Right, but if the same information is going to be re-sent, a call to them would hopefully explain why it was rejected and if it was a mistake maybe they have a note system and they could note the account to allow processing as soon as the information is received again.

Tried it. That's what I am saying. Called them, told I was denied, that I could resend it, and that was that. Obviously, it was an error on an individual's part, so it shouldn't happen again. I added the letter, stating as much.

i just called the number right now and the rep said my dvds shipped on may 1st. i sent the rebate in on the 27th of february. he said that it could take up to 3-4 weeks for delivery but they usually arrive before that. :bouncy:
