So I finally was able to get a good deal on a Duo-R on ebay from Japan (I love the make a offer feature). From what I understand, the Duo-R is a budget version of the Duo, much like the Genesis Model 2 was a budget version of the Genesis. Does anyone know if this version of the Duo is region free? I want mostly Japanese games, but I want a few US releases also. If not, is there a way converter or I am better off on just getting a US Duo also, however they are incredibly hard to find. Thanks.

Can anyone recomend any games? Right now I am interested in
Dracula X, although Ill probably wait for the PSP version, unless the game drops by a good amount when the remake comes out.
Cosmic Fantasy series
Lords/Gates of Thunder
Y's
Various other shooters
Air Zonk CD! (I know this is super expensive, I have the original)

I have a Duo-R set up right now. It is region-free as far as CD games go, glancing at your list you'll be okay for some of them. The Hucard slot will only play Japanese games.

Your best bet for US Turbochip (Hucard) games would probably be to find a US TG-16. That would be considerably cheaper than tracking down a US Turbo Duo.
