It should be common knowledge that any TRU discount always excludes Diapers, formula and VG hardware (consoles). Even employee discounts don't apply to those things.

You got one of the vigilant a'holes. I'd call corporate and file a complaint or go back and request the number of the DM. Even something as simple as asking for the manager sometimes helps. If they refuse it, then request the number of a higher up.

As I already stated, there was ONE fraudulent coupon that they were supposed to reject, per corporate instruction. Some didn't understand and think all coupons are fake.

Management should be able to confirm that this is a legit coupon though. I just kept on insisting that I got it from their website and pointed to the url at the top of the page. Read the whole thread before you post! This was answered. One last time. No, unless you are picking up your preorder. When you preorder at TRU, they only let you pay the $5 in advance, the remaining balance to be paid when you pick it up. The only ting the coupon will do is knock 20% off the $5 you put down on the game.

Also forgot to mention that Indigo GC controllers are marked down to $12 at my TRU. $7.68 after 20+20 discount.

The two coupons ARE CUMULATIVE!!! (But the $5 off coupon is really a $5 off $25 coupon.)

I just got back from Toy's R Us and got quite a decent haul:

Playstation Portable:
-Star Wars: Lethal Alliance
-Field Commander (!)

X-Box 360:
-Ridge Racer 6
-Tomb Raider: Legend

The first three are $10, Tomb Raider is $20. It took the $5 off all four games proportionally, the first three games were already 20% off, and then Tomb Raider: Legend had the 20% off coupon taken off of that.

Possibly I would have saved 50¢ if he had scanned the 20% off coupon first, since it took off the $5 and then 20% from that-so hand them the 20% coupon first (the computer might still do it the other way, but it might save you a few cents).

(I've been holding off on Tomb Raider: Legend-I love it, but I've been torn between getting the better looking 360 version, or the quieter/more-likely-to-be-able-to-play-it-in-20-years Playstation 2 version...still not sure I made the right choice.)

I hope you don't need the full page print out for them to have it to be used, I know TRU are really picky about possible frauds, despite the fact they should know about the coupon in the first place!

I cut out the coupon to fit into my wallet before really thinking and I plan to go to TRU in about an hour, so, wish me luck in me netting Madden and another game for 50 percent off AND 20 percent off.

I have to explain to another guy that the 20% Off coupon was only for SINGLE ITEM.

and then when he tried to used it on a clearance item that has some 20% OFF, he thought that using the coupon will give him 40% in total, when it's not.

basically a $10 clearance game will have 20% off due to clearance, that will be around $8. then apply the 20% Off coupon, then it will discount about 20% on the $8, then that will be around $6.40. so you'll end up paying $6.40.

Yeah, they gave out a little coupon book with purchases a little while back that had a $5 coupon. When I got NFS Carbon CE the lady gave me like five more coupon booklets which had the $5 coupon and a 15% off any item coupon as well as others. These coupons are for an upcoming period. Oh man what a haul I got today thanks to this coupon AND the 50% off a second game.

Went to TRU #1 and bought:
Madden 08 and Mario Strikers Charged

Went to TRU #2 which is about 10 minutes away and returned Madden 08 for $50 credit.

With that I bought RE4 and a nunchuck (used 20% on RE4 for Wii).

Also bought another copy of Madden and Wii Play.

Went back to TRU #1 and retuned Madden 08 and got my $50 back.

So all in all....

Mario Strikers - $25
Wii Play - $25
Nunchuck - $20
Resident Evil 4 - $24

There was no sale for me either, although it sounds like some stores might have it discounted further. I used both coupons though.

I'm still not sure the 360 version is the one I should have gotten though. The only reason I bought it is because I might want to play it again years from now, and that's kind of iffy on the 360 hardware as it stands today...
